  • For this project you will need lightweight spackle,banana mold,fake cherries,resin,corn starch,corn cob bedding and craft paint.Have fun!

    Ms. Dawn I love this so much ! As a child as soon as church was over we would rush to a tiny restaurant named “Joes Icecream parlor”in Easley South Carolina. They made these exact Banana splits in a plastic boat 🛶 and I would take the boat home and play with it in the 🛁 tub and with my Barbies ! I want to make this for them as a display and as a thank you for 50 years of service to our community! They are family run and precious people! Thank you for sharing your talents sweet lady !

      I 2 WOULD USE THE BANANA BOATS IN THE TUB WITH THE BARBIES!
      I ABSOLUTELY LUV THIS & WILL BE TRYING! NEW SUB. AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO! I WANNA TRY ALOT OF THESE FAKE DESSERTS TO USE ON MY KITCHEN TRAY!

      I don’t but it’s very simple!You mix your plaster of plaster as directed on the box then pour it in the mold ,tap it and let it set for a bit!

    Did you cut the banana molds from a larger mold? I'm only finding the mold with bananas and ice cream scoop, not just the bananas. I really enjoy your video's

    Hi Dawn. Another winner. I love that you use pkaster paris. I thought i was the only one who still used it. Everyone serms to only be using that foam airdry clay.     Do your cherries bleed on the white spackle? I had a problem with some I purchased. T.y love this video

      I never had that problem, but I suggest testing it out first on a very small amount of spackle

    What color paints did you for the bananas?

      Bright yellow,daffodil yellow,warm white and white!

    Do you ever use alcohol inks or mica powders to color your resin? And, yes the Thick-it is expensive so will use baking soda next time. Thankyou.

      I have used a red ink and I didn’t like it!I ordered a resin thickener to try and it was a decent price.I’m going to use it on my reds as I think it may give it a clearer look.But as for other shades I’ll definitely continue with corn starch !

    can't you use the premade ones on each side of that fresh chocolate one...kinda tuck it in to that? hate to waste!

    Great tutorial! I haven't made one in a while and last time I didn't Doble my scoops like you did so I'm gonna have to, it made it perfect on yours! Did you make your chocolate and strawberry 🍓 sauce out of thickened resin too?

    The resin I like usung is the quick set. Working time only 15 min.
