Nice one, your beer looks highly drinkable. I've added extra sugar to crown cap bottles, a tad messy but it works!

Yes Ian! I thought it would be possible. Thanks for the great comment. 🍻

I learnt a really hard lesson doing this in a bigger scale. I had a corny keg and pulled the pressure release to test the carb level and it wouldn't seal again. I thought I'll just sugar carb it up, tipped in the sugar and it errupted all over the shed floor and i couldn't seal the lid. Lost about 8 litres! Ueghhh. So yeah, you've got to dissolve the sugar.
    Glad yours came out good.

Hey count nice to have a comment from you, missed you.
I can just imagine the state of Dan's dog if we had 8 litres of beer on the floor for him to lick up. Thanks for the comment dude. 🍻👍

This sounds like a case for carbonation drops :D

Alright chaps, our hoppy lager/hybrid beer came out okay, its is benefitting from time to condition. It started off with an almost sour beer vibe, but it is dropping out. We have just finished a 6.5% marshmallow, oatmeal stout. Will keep you posted. Thanks again fellas.

Conditioning beers for a month or two always helps although, sometimes you just can't wait. That marshmallow stout sounds adventurous, I hope it turns out nicer than Tiny Rebels effort. Good luck with you brews :)

I carbonated my last brew with drops that say 1 per 500ml bottle. They were lying...its definitely 2 required!

Hi David, we don't use the drops although they would be handy on this occasion. Have a look at Dan's app amongst loads of other things it gives you the amount of sugar for the quantity of liquid and style of beer. 🍻

NICE ONE BOYS!,, one question about the Klarstein all in one mash kettle. I found when boiling at 102 with the lid on it was boiling like a steam train and I lost a lot of liquid, I took the lid off and tried that then the thing wouldn't boil at all , I then had to have the lid half off half one >??? any suggestions to get a nice rolling boil?
(alos teh timer didn't seem to work as it was turning off and on due to then temnpreture rise and fall?/)

We put the lid half on half off and only go for 1500w. Boiling for an hour from 25 litres gets its down to smack on 23. We don't bother with the timer on a normal brew day. 😉

Isnt there a danger of exploding bottles doing this?😮

🙄Never thought of that... but I guess its no different than bottle conditioning normally. Cheers🍻

There's no need to re-carbonate... Just drink it.
