    It's not as loud as some but louder than some others. Quieter than my window air conditioner. It weighs 31 pounds. It does give off a lot of heat. It draws 350 watts on any setting so your electric bill will go up about $45-$50 a month, if it's running 24/7. The expensive compressor inside burnt out shortly after 12000 hours on 4 different new units. For the price of these, I would have expected at least a 36000 hour compressor.

    Hi. Could you please explain to me what is the purpouse of the Oxygen Percentage Indicator (OPI) and what we should do if the alarm activates?. Thanks.

    • @Oxygenconcentratorstore
      @Oxygenconcentratorstore  4 роки тому

      Oxygen Percentage Indicator (OPI) on Respironics EverFlo Q alerts the user when the oxygen purity level goes below 82%. Whereas other Non-OPI models will alert only when the oxygen purity has impeded, below 70%. OPI units give patients a heads up that a repair will be soon required and OPI helps with quick repairs.
      If yellow LED lights up continuously with no other alarms, it is a OPI alert that repairs will soon be required. Though you can continue to use the unit.

    I have an Invacare Platinum 10 and it is LOUD as hell. It sounds like an old, slightly worn down window air conditioner. I keep reading the EverFlo Q is significantly quieter, but a few reviews and comments say it is just as loud (which I doubt) as the Invacare model is much older and larger.

    • @Oxygenconcentratorstore
      @Oxygenconcentratorstore  4 роки тому

      Invacare Platinum 10 is a powerful machine and produces up to 10 liters of oxygen per minute. It produces sound at less than 58 dB. Whereas, EveFlo Q is quieter than 40 dB. However, EverFlo Q can produce oxygen up to only 5 lpm.
      While sleeping, some of our patients keep the oxygen concentrator outside the room and administer oxygen via long tubing if noise is an issue.
      If you are experiencing an unusual level of noise, we suggest you contact your equipment provider.

      @@Oxygenconcentratorstore I understand. Thank you for your clarification.
      Another question: Why do the 10lpm models max out at around 5lpm when a bubble humidifier is attached? If that is the case for all O2 concentrators in this class, why can't a quieter 5lpm model be used instead? I am prescribed 10lpm (which maxes out at 5lpm with humidifier), but I tried using a 5lpm EverFlo Q (which maxes out at 4.5lpm when humidifier is attached) and SpO2 is consistently at 100% and feel fine.

    Is it normal for the humidifier to lose water over a period of a few hours? I fill in the water to max but after 8 hours almost 30 percent is gone. I checked all the tubes and the machine but there is no leakage so where does the water disappear?

    • @Oxygenconcentratorstore
      @Oxygenconcentratorstore  4 роки тому +1

      Oxygen supplied without a humidifier is dry. Humidifier increases the moisture level. The air that passes through the humidifier collects water vapor from the water. So, the humidifier will lose water over time.

      Respironics Everflo maintenance is pretty easy as this unit requires low maintenance. Here's how to maintain your Everflo or EverfloQ:
      1. Weekly clean the outer case with a medical disinfectant.
      2. Use distilled water in the humidifier bottle. Use a non-scented, lotion-free liquid dish detergent. If you use tap water in your Bubble Humidifier, clean the Bubble Humidifier every 3 days to help prevent the buildup of mineral deposits. Do not use bleach or ammonia solutions to clean your device.
      3. Wash nasal prongs with liquid soap and thoroughly rinse them once or twice a week. Replace them every two weeks.
      4. The HEPA Air Inlet filter needs to be replaced every two or three years which is located behind the back filter door.

      We'd recommend sending the unit in for repairs. The flow meter, probably, needs to be changed. Before you send the unit in try the flowing workaround. Remove the tubing from the unit, turn the unit on, ensure that oxygen is flowing from the nozzle on the unit, block the nozzle with your finger for 5 seconds, and remove the finger. This might help to free up the ball.

    There is something extremely creepy and unnerving about this to me. My mom is a baby boomer, and like many other boomers, she spent about 50 years smoking 10 packs of cigarettes a day, which is how we wound up with this machine in our house. I find the "small and quiet" branding to be almost insulting. This thing is the size of my server PC and when it is running at night, it is all you can hear in the house. When I was a little younger I was afraid of the noise it made so I never left my room at night to use the bathroom or get water.
    The unnerving part is that my mom is obviously going to die an early death, and she uses this machine to "prolong" it. Basically, the machine cheats death for people about to die, but in the video, the host is talking about it so calmly like it is a good machine. He makes it seem like something you want to have in your home. I guess that if you had to have one, yes, this is preferable to the large tan machine, but I wouldn't _want_ this or any machine in my home anyway. It's a large reminder that you're dying. Who wants that?
    My mom has been to the hospital several times because of her lungs. I feel detached from her, like, "either die or don't die - but don't do both", and this video, to me anyway, seems like it embraces doing both. It is a similar feeling to seeing Soylent Green being promoted to people as healthy - I mean yeah I guess, but why? I've come to hate this machine and everything it stands for, and this video is slightly scary for acting like nothing is wrong with needing the device.
    I'm sure there are probably plenty of other reasons a person might want or need this machine. I'm not trying to disrespect them, the people who made this video, or the engineers who made the product. Hell, I go to a trade school, engineering is super cool to me, like building a machine to cheat death for a while - I just wish we didn't have to. As much as I love cool inventions, humans are born organic and it is my belief that they should die organic without being tethered to any contraption. I'd be genuinely curious to know about other reasons to buy this, like, does it help blood-oxygen? Do you need it for the rest of your life? I'm just writing this from _my_ prospective. Maybe you can need this machine and still be healthy and not at risk of dying, but I wouldn't know, the video is just off-putting because of the circumstances around it to me. I am _not_ saying that the machine could kill you or that anyone who uses it is going to die.

      Hi I am sorry you feel the way you do about this . And I own and use this unit everyday 24 hours a day when i am home . I have coped and it helps me with my blood oxygen levels . I find it to be quiet and it is far better than the other units I have tried . And the man that is in this video is awesome . I have met him and would recommend him to everyone I know that need this kind of equipment . I bought my unit out right with no insurance and he was my sales rep. He is knowledgeable in this kind of equipment . He even kept me focused when there was a distraction in the office . lol. As far as you saying you don't like this type of equipment and you thoughts on just prolonging death . Those are your thought and it makes you sound like your upset that this unit is keeping your mother from dying. What about the other people in your mothers life . That are happy to have her alive and have more time with her . Do there feeling matter to you . If I didn't have this machine I would most likely die . But it would be a while before I did and I would surfer everyday till I did die . And I would not want my loved ones to watch me suffer in that way . Do you want to watch your mother suffer when she does not have to . To me you sound like a self centered person that only cares about yourself and could careless if you watch others suffer . If truth be told I bet you are upset because its keeping you from getting the benefit of your mothers estate . But if that is the case remember greed is organic.

      So you'd rather your mother die a slow painful death? Your comment is unsettling to me. I tried to look at the situation from your point of view and I still am unable to wrap my mind around your thought process on this. I never leave comments on anything. Honestly this is probably my 3rd time ever commenting on any social media platform. I just had to say something because your comment is very disturbing and I feel so sorry for your mother that you look at her the way you do. I can only hope and pray that she doesn't know that you wish she would just die already and get it over with. I sure hope she has family that actually love her and truly care about her and her well being. You need Jesus!
