I love cilantro in so many dishes. I sometimes just replace lettuce with cilantro, so like in my sandwiches. Cilantro is a power food too. It helps your body detox metals.
You can dehydrate the stems. I got a huge haul of cilantro in one of my food bank hauls and I just froze a bunch of it. You can make pesto with it, especially with all those beautiful walnuts you got. I did a video on it about a year ago and froze all of it. I've finished every last package of it. Yummy!

@@CandanceBrewer Both my dad and I love cilantro on our sandwiches 🥪, it's so fresh tasting. I also make my homemade hummus with it as well. The last lasagna I made with the last of the pesto I made was incredible. I had a tenant at the time and he loved it and basically eat the majority of it....ha ha. I made cilantro pesto and spinach pesto, both good on pizzas too. Yummy!!
The cilantro stems are tender . I wash the whole bunch, trim the stems , use leaf fresh but freeze the stems “as is”. I add the frozen stems when cooking black or pinto beans. They break down into the broth but add great flavor.

I like to use fresh cilantro to garnish tacos and I also like to cut up cilantro and put in the instant pot when cooking up dry black beans. ☺️

McCain's is French fries. Cilantro can also be used in Pico de gio and canned. It can be frozen or made into herb cubes and kept in the freezer that way also. Dehydrated works too. I have done the frozen and cubes so I could just pop a cube out when cooking. Love this channel. The food banks in our area rarely give meat. Just depends where you live. Hope your foot heals soon.

Stems are delicious and have so much flavor in them. Dehydrate them and put them in a blender and pulverize them…. or a coffee bean blender… They are so excellent for seasoning

The next chance you get to buy an appliance, if you don't already have one, get a pressure canner. I was looking at the pork roasts thinking how easy it would be to pressure can those. Nice video, good food and good ideas. Thank you!

@@CandanceBrewer Hello, Nervous? I was scared to death. I had a friend read the instructions with me over and over. Neither of us had canned before but it gave me enough confidence to get started. There are some real good you tube videos that could help. Take care.

My bff makes the bowl cozies and plate cozies. I have a few sets and love them! Annie’s Mac and cheese is organic. McCain’s head office is in my province in Canada. It’s an international company (probably why the print is not English but yes, they’re French fries. Great things today from the food pantry (especially those nice looking pork roasts). If our food pantry had given us that much cilantro I would have to dehydrate it. I would then be able to use it in our taco soup and in jar meals.

The stems have the most flavor, next time you can dehydrate them and grind them up. When I make my green enchilada sauce I grind the stems for the sauce….best flavor

Maybe you could call the food place you find and see if they have a delivery service for those without transportation. The worst the can say is no. But maybe they do. Maybe they have volunteers who deliver the food to people without transportation? It doesn't hurt to ask.

Hello Candance..I would use cilantro for a batch of salsa! Love the pantry goodies. You can dehydrate the stems & then grind to a powder to use.

Hi Candance! Im of the camp Cilantro tastes like soap, i dont usually buy it or cook with it, I DO like it in a Mexi-Melt from Taco Bell, so i guess you could make a homemeade version with it. If you poke the stem through a colander hole you can pull it through and be left with just the leaves in the colander. I dry parsley all the time like that because i use parsley a lot!Im sure there are many Mexican or TexMex recipes that use cilantro, to help you use it up, sorry not much help in that department! Lol!

I cannot eat cilantro... I do not have the cilantro gene as it is called. So I just replace it whenever I make Mexican food with parsley and it works just fine in my opinion of course lol.

Hi, I am a new subscriber. I would use cilantro in my mexican style cooking and when I am cooking dried beans. I too use dried cilantro as I am a Senior and cannot use a whole bunch before it goes bad.

I have that weird hormone and cilantro tastes like soap. Hubby loves it so I dehydrate it and sprinkle it on his enchiladas, Tacos, burritos ( we're having chicken lime burritos on Tuesday) and flautas.

I'm so glad you enjoy my hauls 💞 Our Van is a 1990 GMC Vandura. We just bought it last October. We are still trying to raise enough to save Jimmy, our 2000 GMC Jimmy. It needs a transmission rebuild.

Why do you want me to cut my hair? It is the longest it's ever been. I am going to cover the gray soon. But I prefer to do it myself. I can pamper myself, and it doesn't cost me anything. Once my toe is healed. I could probably go for a pedicure 💞

Tacos, salsa, in eggs, on deviled eggs, burritos, soup, there are soo many uses for cilantro. Even our Guinea pigs love it. How is Codee feeling? I hope she is feeling better. Did you find out if they were fries? And wow, 5 pork roasts, that’s amazing. Looking fwd to the walnuts because we have a ton of them. Great haul.

Hi there… I like cilantro in pico, guac and in my salads. Wasn’t Chaty Kathy a doll from the 1950’s?
I think that Chatty Cathy was from the early 1970s ....... . I was born in 1961 , and I wanted 1 , but my mother said that I was too old to get toys for Christmas .
She was from the 60s, and I had one when I was in about the 1st or 2nd grade. I was born in 1958. There was Chatty C(K?)athy, and Charmin' Chatty. I think they were supposed to be sisters, I can't remember now. But she came with a couple of little plastic records that you stuck in her back, and then you pulled the string and she said about 7 phrases. I had her for years and she was much loved and very cool!

You can dehydrate with the stems on and then crunch them after. That will crunch up the leave while sorting out the stems.
