You are most welcome! Thanks for watching! I’ll be uploading a video soon for how to make Mexican Restaurant style ACP (arroz con pollo) so be sure and subscribe if you haven’t already so you don’t miss it. The white queso (cheese) sauce I will make in that video is the same as the nacho cheese served in many restaurants.
You should definitely try the chips! Hot, fresh, and much better than store-bought. 😋 And if you or any of your family members like nachos, you'll like the cheese sauce I make in the ACP video which also go along great with the chips. ua-cam.com/video/OBd3mEqoxV0/v-deo.html
Just make a Masa past. spread them on saran wrap flatten them with the palm of your hand. Cut them to the shape you want. Pull them off when your going to fry them. then salt then on the paper towel. some times you will have to bend the saran wrap to get them off. Just fry them to a nice dark golden brown. You can season the masa to the flavors YOU LIKE. garlic, onion, chili powder, taco flavor, cumin, lime juice, lemon juice, shrimp flavor, beef, chicken, or dry pepper flakes. What ever flavor you want. I like to add a little bit of salt in it
Thanks for the tip! I've never been able to successfully get my homemade corn tortillas thin enough to make chips like the ones in the restaurants which is why I use storebought tortillas for these. It's good stuff though!
That chopstick trick is intriguing. I would always drop a piece of what im cooking into the oil to see if its ready, im gonna have to give that a shot though
I learned that trick a while back. 😁 Except when I learned it I was told to use the end of a wooden spoon, but I just like using a chopstick because I have so many of those and it just seems easier. It totally works though! You’ll see!
I had to go in my Amazon order history to find it, but this is the one I have. amzn.to/3qQRCpN It’s 10 years old! I love it. I don’t have the accessory cups that go with it anymore, but I almost never used those anyway. If it ever bites the dust, I am fairly certain I will get another one! 😁
I typically use canola oil. These days, I don't use it for anything else, but I will use it for frying chips because I don't make them often. I think any of the cooking oils will be fine.
@@Imhim336. Vegetable oil will be fine! I can't tell the difference between the two if I use vegetable oil instead of canola. You'll be fine with that.
@@OldTimeKnowledge I just finished making them like you did and they’re amazing I’m crunching on them as we speak lol next time I’ll try chile lime seasoning instead of salt to see how it tastes? I used a little salt plus garlic Parmesan this time it’s still good imo
I love my Masa corn chips. Love the pillows it makes. Make it nice for dipping. More tender, thin and crispy> much more enjoyable eating and there yummy . Over Doritos yuck
@@OldTimeKnowledge The oil certainly doesn't add any real flavor. Salt or other spices will be much better for flavor. Yeah, I was only concerned about the chips being salt-free. 😊 Some chips, omg, you can see it plastered all over it. 🤦🤷
They're not my favorites, but I have used them. Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot of brands have corn tortillas that either split really bad or just don't cook up as nicely?
Great recipe thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you for watching and taking time to comment!
Good restaurant chips usually have some thick /multiples stuck together as well. Love that!
Same! It's easy to do that, too. Just don't work so hard to separate the chips in the oil. :)
This is awesome! I love chips and salsa! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much for sharing. The chips and salsa look amazing, we will definitely be trying this very soon.
Awesome! Can't wait to hear how they turn out! I'm sure they'll be just perfect!
Look delicious. I also add bottled lime juice. Works great. I haven’t made the chips but think we need to try that! 🥰

Love this recipe. You could also add jalapeño juice if you have jarred jalapeño in the event you don’t have lime juice 😊
Great tip! Thank you! ❤️
Looks great!! I’m definitely gonna try this out! 😍😍
We love this! I hope you will too!

This looks amazing 😍😍 what blender do you have? Where did you get it from? I need it in my life lol

Hey do you mind telling me which type of oil you use to fry them?
I typically use canola oil. These days, I don't use it for anything else, but I will use it for frying chips because I don't make them often. I think any of the cooking oils will be fine.
@@OldTimeKnowledge oh ok I only have vegetable oil for now but I will make sure to grab canola oil the next time Im out thanks

I love Spanish rice
So do I! I will be posting a video where I make that in the very near future.
What kind of oil?
I typically use canola oil, but you could also use vegetable oil, corn oil, or one of the blends.
I love my Masa corn chips. Love the pillows it makes. Make it nice for dipping. More tender, thin and crispy> much more enjoyable eating and there yummy . Over Doritos yuck
Got to find an oil-free recipe.
The salsa doesn't have oil. The chips? You can certainly bake them, but then you might not want to eat them because they won't taste as good! 😂
@@OldTimeKnowledge The oil certainly doesn't add any real flavor. Salt or other spices will be much better for flavor. Yeah, I was only concerned about the chips being salt-free. 😊 Some chips, omg, you can see it plastered all over it. 🤦🤷
@@OldTimeKnowledge they actually taste good baked but only use corn tortillas
@@leeforex8441 air fry the chips so you still get the crunch without the oil
I learned the hard way DO NOT use Walmart Great Value White Corn Tortillas , they fry up way to hard and don't taste the best.
They're not my favorites, but I have used them. Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot of brands have corn tortillas that either split really bad or just don't cook up as nicely?
@@OldTimeKnowledge you are correct because they are using hydrogianized oil instead of Manteca (Lard)
This was a waste of time
And yet you found time to comment! 😂
