    I got a 74 custom ,
But has a built 327, mild cam , aluminum intake , 750cfm carb, Stainless steel headers , MSD distributor and Multiple spark box ,
11 inch clutch , M-21 Muncie 4 speed Trans , 12 bolt posi with traction bars , rear mount radiator and rear mount battery , hood opens in reverse , bucket seats, Mr. Gasket shifter , bolt shift handle , custom brake/clutch pedals , new gas tank, Tach and oil pressure gauge , kill switch , Weld Star rims , bumpers cut and bolted like 68 to 72 ,
    That removed 50+ pounds ,
Bumpers inner bumper and shocks are all gone ,
Wire mesh grill , and turn signals in front bumper instead of grill

@@Shop209 , yes , radiator is in the trunk , has vent holes by the rear tail lights , 73 and 74 has an extra hole for the backup lights , I have single tail lights like the 70 to 71 Nova has , so those two rectangle holes are for heat from the radiator now ,
It has no rear seat , the windows are always down , and two 19 inch electric fans with shrouding to push the heat out ,
This was a 350 two barrel carb. Automatic transmission and 10 bolt rear end ,
      327 , M-21 Muncie and 12 bolt posi now

@@Shop209 , 1and 1/2 inch pipe running to the trunk carries the anti-freeze with reducers coming off the aluminum radiator that is out of a 92 Chevy OBS Truck , aluminum angle brackets holding the radiator at a slant , inner fender and heater core/box are all gone , blocked off firewall

I’m restoring my 71 Nova here in Italy and there’s a set of parts that I cannot find online that my car missed in the first place : the set of headliner tack retainer strips, the ones where the rods holding it up are supposed to go in. In case you have suggestions or a set of those willing to sell would be great. Thanks for everything and for keeping Novas around !

You have plans to save them all, I love it!!!
It's really ashamed though that people where these old cars don't rot out and they see a small spot or 2 bubbling under the original paint they think the car needs to be scrapped!! Those cars you have down there in Georgia look just like the rusted out treasures we have here in Michigan. Why is it that we that live where these gems rot out are more inclined to fix them? You might want to get as many repair panels you afford to buy and have room to store before the war in Taiwan starts, IIRC that is where they are reproducing old car sheet metal parts?
A turbo on a sbc 307 is a great idea, the block that has the thickest cylinders of any large journal sbc block the General ever made, excellent choice for a turbo! To bad Speed Pro stopped making forged pistons for this engine! But sometimes those pistons do show up on eBay as a NOS set once and a while. More often if they do show up they're usually standard size but don't let that discourage you if you're dealing with a virgin block, just have it machine shop hone it round. Or if you have a Hone-Tru I think its called, you can hone it round yourself?
Also if it needs to be bored and you can only find standard bore size NOS, you can have them coated, there is a place here in Michigan called Line2Line that does piston coating up to IIRC .020" thick so would be good for up to a .040" overbore?
Even if you just open up the ring gap on what's in there and run it that way, it's very cool to see the little 307 get some attention(the better sbc 5.0L). But if you have a factory forged 350 crank laying around or find a good deal on one, I think they are making 4.0L forged Jeep pistons now that might workout with a little tiny bit of altering.

  • @justincooper5189

Honestly, it's easier to replace the entire quarter panel, because then you know what is there, and matching the quarter to the roof is easier. The trunk pan is a 3 piece if you look at auto metal direct or dynacorn.the price might be more for full quarters, but people always say " you get what you pay for." I've been trying to figure out how to find my dad's72 Nova, but I'm not sure if I have to have the vin,or if I can use the old license plate number. If I need the vin I'm screwed, but I know the old plate number and my dads full name, so I hope I can use that. Any ideas on how I could do that?

    • @Shop209
      @Shop209  2 роки тому

Depends on the state you’re in. I tried to register a car I’ve owned for 29 years but hadn’t had a tag since 1997. State of GA shows it still owned by original owner. My license plate number had been reassigned to someone else’s car.
