I've had mine for about a year now. The beginning was a little bumpy, by that I mean animation was a little choppy and battery wasn't great. But after updates and now on the new one ui 5.1 my phone feels brand new! The animations are way smoother and my battery has also improved. Overall Im going to keep my s22 ultra for another year👍
I had a similar experience in the beginning but figured it was just growing pains that tend to come with most phones as they learn your routines for battery consumption. And yea the update definitely made a huge difference. That’s awesome to hear you’re loving the phone now as well. 😁👌🏼
I have and s22 ultra and Iphone 14 pro max, back in September I drop my s22 ultra, today, I got my s22 screen fix, it cost me $366.00,they did a great job fixing it
That’s surprisingly not that pricey considering the price of the phone. I use to be a cell phone repair tech and when the s8 was out the screens were easily $400-$500 to repair. So most of the time it wasn’t worth repair. Glad to hear it was still worth repairing. 😁

I have to learn how to edit from this phone, too. No lag, battery life is awesome, in my opinion. No, I will not be upgrading to the s23 ultra. I'm going to use my phone till I can't use it anymore.

I have both IP 13 PM and S22 Ultra. To be honest the S22 ultra is much more easier to use than the iPhone. It's so comfortable and the s pen is useful for work. However I feel so confidence with Iphone durability and its security. I love them both.

Very great and natural video I also have the S22ultra 128 and for a reason or another the memory is no issue for me at all i still have like 50 gb and with the cloud services nowadays it's easy to save space on the phone one thing though i'm using this phone without a screen protector i got tired of buying new ones because of the edges but yeah for now i'm not changing phone
Great video man. I also have the Phantom black and I went with the 12-gig version. You might have been happier with this version as I've had no lag, especially with all that you do on your device. You can also do what's called ram boost where you can use any additional storage that you have to boost the ram so that in your case you can go from 8 to 12 or 16 gigs of ram. That might help. Now, I'm a firm Note user since the Note II which is why I have this device. And that SPen has so many features that I use daily. With that said, nowadays you can't go wrong with either flagship. Again, you nailed it. Liked and subscribed.

Late November 2023, 1 week after UI 6 update for s22u, on my specific setup, apps and usage, I get almost same battery life as on UI5.1, which is at least 6h SOT over 2 days. 7h SOT in one day with medium to heavy use. Tho the speakers on the s22u are garbage compared to my s23u. They both seem very similar from day to day use (same use), but the battery life is 10h sot on s23u and the speakers are lively and rich, compared to s22u speakers which are distorted after 70% and not lively at all. But they are decent. Definitely better than anything a budget phone has.
U did a good job . Tmobile said there going to send me a s22 or s23 not sure . Using a note 8 had a note 9 which I thought was better but I leased it & didn't keep it .
I'm on a note 10 and just got it and I looooove the curves! I haven't seen the note 20 in person but feel like I wouldn't love it bc it doesn't have the curved edges. If I couldn't have a note/ultra I'd still go with the s10 bc of the curve
I absolutely prefer my s22 ultra over my iPhone, theirs nothing wrong with camera and I'm more than happy with battery life but I will say I've never been with out an iphone since the 4s best of both worlds I suppose.

I really love edge style displays too. I used to own S7 edge and S10+. They both had it. Now I own S21+ and it does not. I really miss it. It makes everything look a little bit like 3d. It's unfair that I must buy the most expensive Samsung these days to have it on Samsung device.

How much better is the battery life compared to the LG V60? On heavy use my S22 Ultra can only do about 5-6 hours at 80% brightness, at FHD+ 60Hz I get about an extra 30 minutes. My V60 can do 9-10 hours which is still awesome. I was going to upgrade to an S23 Ultra but trade-in offers sucked compared to last year...Since I still prefer photos taken on the V60 not to mention the speakers are also better, I just started using my V60 again with way better battery life to boot. So how much better is the S23 Ultra compared to the LG V60 in terms of battery life?
Unfortunately I haven't experienced the LG V60 but I was a HUGE LG fan back when the g4 and g5 came out. While everyone was hyping up the Samsungs and iPhones, I was rooting for the underdog of phones at that time. I had a little time with the LG V10 and thought it was amazing! But as time profressed it seemed like LG was losing its place in the phone industry. And here I was thinking they were a head of the curve with thing like a finger print reader on the back of the phone, enhanced audio with quad dac, the ability to open your device with a palm reading of the veins and even the modular designs they tried with the g5. It was sad to see that LGs downfall was their emphasis on innovation 💡 Quite the contradiction of results in my head. 😔 So I'm not sure how the battery holds up to the V60. I'd have to guess that it would be better considering it's newer. 🤷🏽♂️ I'd love to get my hands on some LG phones down the road to revisit what was once the underdog of innovation. 😌
@@swesproductions Yeah, I had the Original iPhone all the way to the 5. But then I realized Im getting new iPhones but its the exact same features each year just minor tweaks. So I wanted something with a bigger screen I ended up with a Windows Phone Nokia 910, but that was short lived. Then went to my 1st Android, Samsung Galaxy Note 2...and Im amazed how much I can customize the phone and basically use it as a PC. Since then I had the LG G2, G3, G4, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, ZTE Axon 7, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, RED Hydrogen One, LG V50, LG V60 and S22 Ultra. I have used the S22 Ultra for about 10 months but I always miss the camera, speakers, Micro SD support and long battery life of the V60...so I switched back to it.
Wow. I thought I had alot of phones. Once I switched to Apple I stayed on it from the iPhone 6s plus up to the 13 pro max and only recently decided to give android another shot with the S22 Ultra. Made me realize how much more fun android can be with experimental features that work so well. 😌🔥 I love seeing others just as excited to try new phones as I am. 😁
I got my 22 ultra a month after they were released, I also came from an LG V60. I was thinking it would be this insane upgrade and it was...to an extent. Performance and user experience, yes. Battery life? absolutely not. My V60 blows this phone away when it comes to battery but I think I got a dud. I struggle to get 4 hrs of screen on time with this phone.
Between the S22 Ultra and the new S23 (not the ultra) which one is a better choice, planning to buy one of those this August, and will use it for the next 4 years. I am in college, which one makes more sense for me?
Based on the fact that you’d like to use it for 4 years I would recommend the s23 simply because it’s newer meaning it’ll be supported for a year longer as far as software updates go. The only reason I could think of for you to pick the s22 ultra is if the pen would be a handy tool to have in class for quick notes or even marking up pdf files with precision. 👍🏼
The only way to get more is to sign up for Google storage and just pay for it. I pay for 200gb of cloud storage and it's only like 3$ a month. Totally worth it for having more space and peace of mind to save your photos if anything were ever to happen to your phone. 😌👌🏼
I went from an iPhone 12 pro max to s22 ultra being a iPhone user for many years and dabbling in android from time to time it's a breathe of fresh air and now with the android 14 update recently it's far and beyond the phone I originally received almost a year ago

I just left iphone for android. Started on a samsung note 8 and I'm on an s10 now. Enjoying these 0hones so much I'm thinking of going all in for an s23 ultra! And yes, it's the pen!
So far I am enjoying my s22 ultra, It's my first android phone too. But I always made sure That I keep track of the battery by using dark mode. Despite some flaws, I still love this phone. My mother only got her iphone Because of the security. I told her that she got to have more than just security to buy a phone. What about creative freedom? Why not have some simple settings That you can understand? You gotta get your money's worth.
I can definitely see that point of view and for some it can be a better option. 😌 But as someone who use to work at At&t, I'm aware that plenty of people are of the mentality of "if it works it works." So they don't want to fix what isn't broken to them and that's ok. 😊 And I too like keep all my devices in dark mode. It just looks better. 🔥
I'm a life long iphone user, just purchased the S22 Ultra. I didn't want to start off with my first Android paying the s23 Ultra prices, so I thought I would go with last year's model to start out. It absolutely has the most gorgeous screen I've ever seen on a phone, but there is one aspect I am disappointed in. On my standard iphone 13, I can run genshin impact flawlessly on high settings. On the S22 Ultra, not well. I have to keep it on medium settings with low FPS. The game looks choppy on the S22 U, and the graphics are not good. I did read somewhere though that genshin impact, just didn't optimize the game for the S22 Ultra. I haven't tried any other games, I don't know for sure which one is true. Either way I thought I should be able to play this game, just as well on a Samsung flagship just as well as I did on a standard modeled iPhone. I do use the s22 ultra as a TV though, I guess I'll just use my iPhone for G.I. and anything demanding.

I have heard similar things with apps in general with the understanding that it’s hard for app/game developers to really optimize their product to each and every android device out there. It’s easy for them to work on Apples version because every model runs the same software. While androids run a variety of softwares. If I had to guess, G.I. Probably works best on the Google Pixel line. But I could be wrong. I do agree with you though. If apples flagship can run it that smooth, Samsungs flagship should be able to as well. I too mainly use my S22 Ultra to watch my shows and movies considering that beautiful display. 😍👌🏼🔥

Turn off all animation scale. You'll freak out how quick everything happens. Turns the phone into a hotrod. Try it for a week, and then go back to default animation scale. You'll think your phone is broke. 🤣

Bro.. The heating factor is no joke.. You are kind of forgot about to mention that... Without an external cooler if you play game for atleast 30 mins..this heats up fast and game might crash... I have encountered this several times... And battery life about a whole day... Come on who are you kidding.. With battery saving mode yes maybe but if you have 5g connectivity and you turn onBluetooth whole day.. Then there is no chance it will last a full day
I can see that battery perspective for heavy mobile gamers, but like I mentioned I don’t really do much of that. So they being said, I’ve never seen any hearing issues when it comes to gaming simply because I don’t game for that long. 🤷🏽♂️ So my battery always did more then a day no problem. But like any phone, battery usage always depends on the user. 😌
I don't know what you're talking about with having your phone slow down and not understand your actions. Sounds like a problem with your setup specifically.
No it’s not my setup. As much as I wish it was only my device having issues, I can’t deny that I’ve seen other android users with similar issues, specifically with social media apps. Someone did mention here in the comments that there is specific things you can do to fix those issues but unfortunately that’s beyond most general consumers that just want to pick a phone up and have it work the way it “should”. But again, I can admit that I’m more then likely not unlocking the full potential of the phone by installing a different OS or restricting specific apps/actions. 😌
@swesproductions what's with the conflating of the s22 ultra and android? Sure some people have issues. Some people have issues with their iPhone freezing as well. In all my time using my s22 ultra I've used twitter, reddit, facebook, fb messenger, insta, youtube and many others for long periods. I've had Twitter crash a few times but no locking of the device. Especially just scrolling around in oneui. I've had samsung phones for a long time. They've had their issues with lag. I'm not saying samsung phones are perfect. I'm just saying, to the degree that you are experiencing these issues, I would call this out of the ordinary for samsung since the s9 series. Maybe in specific scenarios. None that I've run into personally. I don't mean to discount you experience at all, I don't doubt you are experiencing what you say you are. I use an iPhone 14 pro for work. It does feel a little more fluid in some areas than the s22 ultra but I've never had hard-core locking going on with either. That being said, if you ever get your hands on the s23u, I'd be curious to see your opinion on that as well.
I think as I mention "Android Users" I tend to associate them to Samsung just because the friends that have android tend to have Samsung. 😅 I haven't had any experience with the Google Pixel but thats a device I'd imagine runs a bit smoother with social media apps but I don't know until I get my hands on one. 😁 Regardless I do appreciate the feedback and I don't take it as a negative remark. So thank you for sharing your experience with Samsung devices. I'd imagine the 12gig of RAM model has less stutter issues then my 8gig model. Non the less, I can imagine the s23 ultra being a step up in performance. Samsung continues to improve it's UI and I love seeing it progress. 😌♥️
The differences in quality vary depending on the lighting of the shot. I plan on making a comparison video strictly of the social media quality between Samsung, Google and Apple.
Oh man do I miss the IR blaster. 😭 It was low-key too much power in the hands of consumers. I would turn off public tvs all the time with that power. 😂

Those of us who use Android skip apple on principle. I understand the experience is smooth with apple. But Apple gives you less and charges you more. Less Ram a lower-quality screen. And then they take things away the headphone jack they never had expandable storage. They got rid of the charger and created a trend. So because of Apple everybody just keeps taking things away from people. A company that takes more away than it gives needs to be boycotted. Issues you're complaining about are champagne issues. The Apple screen will never look as good as the Samsung screen. But now that Samsung has copied Apple I don't support Samsung anymore either.
Well that’s one way to look at it. 😅 But that’s just a perspective I don’t agree with personally. I love my iPhone and I love my Samsung. Each have their strengths and weakness. Regardless of what companies intentions are with their product, I know my intentions and uses from those products are all helpful and joyful. 😌

@@swesproductions this was a great review btw, basically the things you were underwhelmed by, every phone has bugs and flaws right, but with an ultra you can pretty much get rid of the flaws, I'm not going to go into how but example the social media comparison and the ui assessment there's ways to get your desired result. Btw don't get me started on the iPhones shortcomings. As you learn this device you'll understand you have a device that is almost flawless.

I have iphone 14 pro max and i have s22ultra. Iphone is more powerful but s22 ultra is more enjoyable, for gaming i use iphone for everything else s22 ultra i just love this samsung and s23 is more powerful and for gaming is very good. Photo on s22 is just perfect but for video is iphone for sure in my opinion. Battery is ok on s 22 on 14 pro max is a bit better but 14 pro max is not that good on battery that 13 pro max maybe because 14 pro max have smaller baterry capacity. Customization s22 ultra is amazing, just perfect all free, on iphone all with subscriptions :( i will never buy iphone in my life. :) is just Range rovers vs Toyotas 😅😅

Unless you have a strong need for the s-pen on the s22 ultra, I would just go for a brand new Xiaomi 😌

They both seem very similar from day to day use (same use), but the battery life is 10h sot on s23u and the speakers are lively and rich, compared to s22u speakers which are distorted after 70% and not lively at all. But they are decent. Definitely better than anything a budget phone has.
U did a good job . Tmobile said there going to send me a s22 or s23 not sure . Using a note 8 had a note 9 which I thought was better but I leased it & didn't keep it .

I'm on a note 10 and just got it and I looooove the curves! I haven't seen the note 20 in person but feel like I wouldn't love it bc it doesn't have the curved edges. If I couldn't have a note/ultra I'd still go with the s10 bc of the curve

I absolutely prefer my s22 ultra over my iPhone, theirs nothing wrong with camera and I'm more than happy with battery life but I will say I've never been with out an iphone since the 4s best of both worlds I suppose.

I really love edge style displays too. I used to own S7 edge and S10+. They both had it. Now I own S21+ and it does not. I really miss it. It makes everything look a little bit like 3d. It's unfair that I must buy the most expensive Samsung these days to have it on Samsung device.

Got my S22 Ultra (12GB/512GB) yesterday and I love it to bits. The screen is gorgeous, and it seems to go on forever. This is a huge phone!

I got a case (poetic spartan) that not only makes a huge phone even huger, but also has a sturdy kickstand so I can watch shows on the phone.

I’d say I average around 7hrs more or less. I don’t think it’s bad at all. It’s comparable to the iPhone 13pro max.
How much better is the battery life compared to the LG V60?
On heavy use my S22 Ultra can only do about 5-6 hours at 80% brightness, at FHD+ 60Hz I get about an extra 30 minutes. My V60 can do 9-10 hours which is still awesome.
I was going to upgrade to an S23 Ultra but trade-in offers sucked compared to last year...Since I still prefer photos taken on the V60 not to mention the speakers are also better, I just started using my V60 again with way better battery life to boot.
So how much better is the S23 Ultra compared to the LG V60 in terms of battery life?
Unfortunately I haven't experienced the LG V60 but I was a HUGE LG fan back when the g4 and g5 came out. While everyone was hyping up the Samsungs and iPhones, I was rooting for the underdog of phones at that time. I had a little time with the LG V10 and thought it was amazing! But as time profressed it seemed like LG was losing its place in the phone industry. And here I was thinking they were a head of the curve with thing like a finger print reader on the back of the phone, enhanced audio with quad dac, the ability to open your device with a palm reading of the veins and even the modular designs they tried with the g5. It was sad to see that LGs downfall was their emphasis on innovation 💡
Quite the contradiction of results in my head. 😔
So I'm not sure how the battery holds up to the V60. I'd have to guess that it would be better considering it's newer. 🤷🏽♂️ I'd love to get my hands on some LG phones down the road to revisit what was once the underdog of innovation. 😌
@@swesproductions Yeah, I had the Original iPhone all the way to the 5. But then I realized Im getting new iPhones but its the exact same features each year just minor tweaks.
So I wanted something with a bigger screen I ended up with a Windows Phone Nokia 910, but that was short lived.
Then went to my 1st Android, Samsung Galaxy Note 2...and Im amazed how much I can customize the phone and basically use it as a PC.
Since then I had the LG G2, G3, G4, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, ZTE Axon 7, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, RED Hydrogen One, LG V50, LG V60 and S22 Ultra.
I have used the S22 Ultra for about 10 months but I always miss the camera, speakers, Micro SD support and long battery life of the V60...so I switched back to it.
Wow. I thought I had alot of phones. Once I switched to Apple I stayed on it from the iPhone 6s plus up to the 13 pro max and only recently decided to give android another shot with the S22 Ultra. Made me realize how much more fun android can be with experimental features that work so well. 😌🔥 I love seeing others just as excited to try new phones as I am. 😁
I got my 22 ultra a month after they were released, I also came from an LG V60. I was thinking it would be this insane upgrade and it was...to an extent. Performance and user experience, yes. Battery life? absolutely not. My V60 blows this phone away when it comes to battery but I think I got a dud. I struggle to get 4 hrs of screen on time with this phone.

Based on the fact that you’d like to use it for 4 years I would recommend the s23 simply because it’s newer meaning it’ll be supported for a year longer as far as software updates go. The only reason I could think of for you to pick the s22 ultra is if the pen would be a handy tool to have in class for quick notes or even marking up pdf files with precision. 👍🏼

The only way to get more is to sign up for Google storage and just pay for it. I pay for 200gb of cloud storage and it's only like 3$ a month. Totally worth it for having more space and peace of mind to save your photos if anything were ever to happen to your phone. 😌👌🏼

So far I am enjoying my s22 ultra, It's my first android phone too. But I always made sure That I keep track of the battery by using dark mode. Despite some flaws, I still love this phone. My mother only got her iphone Because of the security. I told her that she got to have more than just security to buy a phone. What about creative freedom? Why not have some simple settings That you can understand? You gotta get your money's worth.
I can definitely see that point of view and for some it can be a better option. 😌 But as someone who use to work at At&t, I'm aware that plenty of people are of the mentality of "if it works it works." So they don't want to fix what isn't broken to them and that's ok. 😊

I'm a life long iphone user, just purchased the S22 Ultra. I didn't want to start off with my first Android paying the s23 Ultra prices, so I thought I would go with last year's model to start out. It absolutely has the most gorgeous screen I've ever seen on a phone, but there is one aspect I am disappointed in. On my standard iphone 13, I can run genshin impact flawlessly on high settings. On the S22 Ultra, not well. I have to keep it on medium settings with low FPS. The game looks choppy on the S22 U, and the graphics are not good. I did read somewhere though that genshin impact, just didn't optimize the game for the S22 Ultra. I haven't tried any other games, I don't know for sure which one is true. Either way I thought I should be able to play this game, just as well on a Samsung flagship just as well as I did on a standard modeled iPhone. I do use the s22 ultra as a TV though, I guess I'll just use my iPhone for G.I. and anything demanding.

I have heard similar things with apps in general with the understanding that it’s hard for app/game developers to really optimize their product to each and every android device out there. It’s easy for them to work on Apples version because every model runs the same software. While androids run a variety of softwares. If I had to guess, G.I. Probably works best on the Google Pixel line. But I could be wrong. I do agree with you though. If apples flagship can run it that smooth, Samsungs flagship should be able to as well. I too mainly use my S22 Ultra to watch my shows and movies considering that beautiful display. 😍👌🏼🔥

Turn off all animation scale. You'll freak out how quick everything happens. Turns the phone into a hotrod. Try it for a week, and then go back to default animation scale. You'll think your phone is broke. 🤣

Bro.. The heating factor is no joke.. You are kind of forgot about to mention that... Without an external cooler if you play game for atleast 30 mins..this heats up fast and game might crash... I have encountered this several times... And battery life about a whole day... Come on who are you kidding.. With battery saving mode yes maybe but if you have 5g connectivity and you turn onBluetooth whole day.. Then there is no chance it will last a full day
I can see that battery perspective for heavy mobile gamers, but like I mentioned I don’t really do much of that. So they being said, I’ve never seen any hearing issues when it comes to gaming simply because I don’t game for that long. 🤷🏽♂️ So my battery always did more then a day no problem. But like any phone, battery usage always depends on the user. 😌

No it’s not my setup. As much as I wish it was only my device having issues, I can’t deny that I’ve seen other android users with similar issues, specifically with social media apps. Someone did mention here in the comments that there is specific things you can do to fix those issues but unfortunately that’s beyond most general consumers that just want to pick a phone up and have it work the way it “should”. But again, I can admit that I’m more then likely not unlocking the full potential of the phone by installing a different OS or restricting specific apps/actions. 😌
@swesproductions what's with the conflating of the s22 ultra and android? Sure some people have issues. Some people have issues with their iPhone freezing as well. In all my time using my s22 ultra I've used twitter, reddit, facebook, fb messenger, insta, youtube and many others for long periods. I've had Twitter crash a few times but no locking of the device. Especially just scrolling around in oneui. I've had samsung phones for a long time. They've had their issues with lag. I'm not saying samsung phones are perfect. I'm just saying, to the degree that you are experiencing these issues, I would call this out of the ordinary for samsung since the s9 series. Maybe in specific scenarios. None that I've run into personally. I don't mean to discount you experience at all, I don't doubt you are experiencing what you say you are. I use an iPhone 14 pro for work. It does feel a little more fluid in some areas than the s22 ultra but I've never had hard-core locking going on with either. That being said, if you ever get your hands on the s23u, I'd be curious to see your opinion on that as well.
I think as I mention "Android Users" I tend to associate them to Samsung just because the friends that have android tend to have Samsung. 😅 I haven't had any experience with the Google Pixel but thats a device I'd imagine runs a bit smoother with social media apps but I don't know until I get my hands on one. 😁 Regardless I do appreciate the feedback and I don't take it as a negative remark. So thank you for sharing your experience with Samsung devices. I'd imagine the 12gig of RAM model has less stutter issues then my 8gig model. Non the less, I can imagine the s23 ultra being a step up in performance. Samsung continues to improve it's UI and I love seeing it progress. 😌♥️

Those of us who use Android skip apple on principle. I understand the experience is smooth with apple. But Apple gives you less and charges you more. Less Ram a lower-quality screen. And then they take things away the headphone jack they never had expandable storage. They got rid of the charger and created a trend. So because of Apple everybody just keeps taking things away from people. A company that takes more away than it gives needs to be boycotted. Issues you're complaining about are champagne issues. The Apple screen will never look as good as the Samsung screen. But now that Samsung has copied Apple I don't support Samsung anymore either.
Well that’s one way to look at it. 😅 But that’s just a perspective I don’t agree with personally. I love my iPhone and I love my Samsung. Each have their strengths and weakness. Regardless of what companies intentions are with their product, I know my intentions and uses from those products are all helpful and joyful. 😌

@@swesproductions this was a great review btw, basically the things you were underwhelmed by, every phone has bugs and flaws right, but with an ultra you can pretty much get rid of the flaws, I'm not going to go into how but example the social media comparison and the ui assessment there's ways to get your desired result. Btw don't get me started on the iPhones shortcomings. As you learn this device you'll understand you have a device that is almost flawless.

I have iphone 14 pro max and i have s22ultra. Iphone is more powerful but s22 ultra is more enjoyable, for gaming i use iphone for everything else s22 ultra i just love this samsung and s23 is more powerful and for gaming is very good.
Photo on s22 is just perfect but for video is iphone for sure in my opinion. Battery is ok on s 22 on 14 pro max is a bit better but 14 pro max is not that good on battery that 13 pro max maybe because 14 pro max have smaller baterry capacity.
Customization s22 ultra is amazing, just perfect all free, on iphone all with subscriptions :( i will never buy iphone in my life. :) is just Range rovers vs Toyotas 😅😅
