    I have had this lock for over a year. My friends are lock pickers and suggested this lock, pricey. The lock works well, never had anyone mess with it. Definitely recommend!

    Ive had one on my trailer for several years & still works flawlessly. Yes, i bought it because of the LPL.

    I notice one security flaw. Can't they just unscrew the red thing from the trailer and then screw their own attachment on the trailer and take it?? Maybe I'm wrong, but those 2 red Bolts on the side of the trailer are sticking out like a sore thumb.

      Lpl will be in it in 30 seconds, but will say other than a shitty lock it's a beast.

    I just installed a Proven Industries lock on the front of my new trailer.
    That ICON lock looks pretty beefy, but the key is on the bottom and it weighs alot. Also seems very loose. Thats my 2 cents on it based on the video.

    The black lock you can drill 2 hole and add pad lock with your chain on it to make it even harder to remove.

    Great product. Can you send me the video regarding securing the chains that you spoke of in this video? Thanks.

    It be cool if you did a comparison video of that lock and some of the other locks you know of. I'll probably order this one though, oh and lucky you have a link to Etrailers, I order a lot from them. very much appreciated.

    I wish they had a solution like S5 coupler locks where they wrap the lock all the way to the adjustable coupler bolts.

    People leave the hitch’s at the right height (couple inches above the ball) to make hooking up easy. And for people who want to take it. I jack my trailer tongue way down or way up in the air. It adds time and a bit more “thought” to the stealing process. Which can be a deterrent.

    @BigTruckBigRV Mosquitos are attracted to the colors of Red & Black. That trailer is red. So they might be congregating around it for that.

    Recessed lock is a good idea but I think a Milwaukee port a band can quietly defeat it.
    Never seen one in person but with the open back I think it'd be pretty easy cutting through the webs
    Everyone thinks cordless grinders but they're noisy & throw visible sparks, a good saw & drill can work better.

  • @ColtonRMagby

    I'd use that on a trailer for overlanding. Thieves will see that lock, and they'll try to get in the trailer, only to find NOTHING. The wheels won't do them any good because most thieves don't have a drill to get past locking lug nuts, and they'd have to drill EVERY lug nut.

    The lock mechanism being on bottom helps alot from getting picked. Hard to pick it when working upside down. So average thief isn’t picking it or wasting time cutting it with battery tool.

    How does all that metal make the lock harder to pick?

    • @volvo09
      @volvo09 6 місяців тому

      It doesn't, just makes it take a lot longer to cut off with an angle grinder.

    Its a brute but a cordless 4 1/2” grinder with cutting wheels and it can be cut in no time at all. If someone wants your trailer this will not stop them 🤷‍♂️🤣

    • @servicetrucker5564
      @servicetrucker5564 6 місяців тому

      That’s why they made it the size they did. You’ll be cutting off little pieces for a while unless you bring a bigger grinder

    K’ve tried to manage heavy locks before. It’s just too hard to manage. Not worth it in my opinion.

    That seems rather expensive for anything other than an extra fancy auto hauler or an RV. Thanks that need a little extra "It's not worth your time, you lazy thieving s-o-b, so go steal someone else's trailer".
    In a rural area, thieves chain the trailer up with the lock still on it and drive off to some nearby spot where they can take their time to dealing with it. If they can't remove the lock, they can can replace a welded on coupler within an hour.
    I have some basic locks. I also have a solar powered wireless camera with a motion alarm just above my hitch. They back up to the trailer, get out, look at the beeping camera, and drive off. If I didn't have reliable wi-fi at the location (

    YEA OK-- 400 BUCKS MEANWHILE THEY JUST EITHER CHANGE OUT THE FRONT OR JUST USE CHAINS OR HYDRAULIC LIFT LIKE THE REPO MAN--- GONE IN 30 SECONDS- THE AXLES MUST BE LOCKED GIVING A FLAT BAD OR DOLLY THE ONLY MEANS OF THEFT
