The S550 mustang is a amazing chassis. Standard IRS and a LSD plus the huge aftermarket. My eco has all stock internal and FBO with a bigger NX2 turbo. Been reliable for 5 years like that.
Not me out here with a semi stanced GT but I’m done with the slammed little bit of camber look. Time to make power. End goal is 1000Wheel from Tein Turbos, Hellhorse motor, built 6R80/T56, tube front end, fhalf cage if not full, drag pack, and full BMR suspension. I’m kinda torn between going for Steeda or BMR but imma start off with BMR drag springs.
Don't bother going NA only because the price of that build will equal to a entry level supercharger like a ESS G2 kit that gives you 100+ over a FBO setup. FBO meaning cobra jet manifold, cams, throttle body, intake, headers, & tune. 600whp-680whp is safe & reliable for these engines on pump 91 or 93 gas. Stock drivetrain & engines are safe at these power levels there are some 1 or 2 unicorn engines that can get cylinder fail but generally thats not the case. If you want to upgrade anything do the driveshaft, axles, opgs (not a necessity but good insurance), tires, catch can, shocks, struts, & springs. Maybe a Steeda stop the hop street enthusiasts kit to really fine tune your suspension. Above 720whp- 800whp you will need a return style fuel system, 1000cc injectors or higher, lower pulley, e85 & tune. Around this power you MIGHT have issues with the drivetrain depending on if it's a gen 2/gen 3 manual or auto.
Yes those Ecos are no joke, just a tune and they would leave a stock 5.0 in the dust, also 5.0 have an awesome sound, I have the last gen of 3.7L the body of Mustang with the sound of a VQ engine 👌
Shot out of a cannon, straight into a crowd. Good work on this one, finally someone speaking truth about over builds. So many of these out going straight really fast, it’s one of the best off the shelf options ever, and I hate them, because race car.
Coyote S550 mustangs are awesome. Make easy power and they’re not just straight line cars anymore. N/A can easy make 500whp with just long tubes and e85. Adding just a super charger can put an S550 over 700whp reliably.
The 3.7L engine is the most underrated platform ever seen those things push easy 600 with a single turbo set up, and it being lighter the GT. Perfect for daily and it sounds decent too if you do it right
I have owned 2 of these over the last few years and have a Gen 1 in the immediate family. They’re very reliable, and have a plethora of support, there are a LOT of misconceptions about the Coyote out there though. If y’all have any question feel free to ask me.
@@georgemcunty6383 it’s not awful, you need to put a clutch like a Mantic or RST in and it’ll feel much much better and solve the lockout. It doesn’t feel like a T56 or 6060, but it’s better than people make it out to be.
@@jacobasuncion3132 ESS for top end, down low punch a VMP 2.3 or a Roush 2.3, if you want a good mix the Whipple 3.0 is a damn good blower with really good potential.
Got a lot wrong about the eco. Everyone uses the cobb not whatever that is, no one uses that intake (roush and stock are the best), the nx2 precision turbo is good if you want to beat 5.0s, and he also used the word “headers”?? The “headers” are built into the head, impossible to swap unless ur building the motor. They mainly blow up due to driver error and cooling upgrades aren’t needed unless you’re tracking the hell out of the car in hot ass weather. They’re VERY reliable up until around 450whp+, 100% the biggest issue with ecoboosts is they sound like a clapped Honda
I have a dumb question and it would be a few years still but If I were to throw a gt350 style bumper and one of those little gt350 track spoilers on a 2022 or 2023, would I have to do much to tires or suspension? I’m asking because for a while I’d be perfectly ok with leaving the engine untouched, just stock. For me, 450 would be fine for a while. 10 speed btw, I think the 10r80 would work for me best. But I saw a paint matched red 15 with the gt350 stuff, black roof, boss 302 rims and I fell in love with that. So I’d wanna do similar for the color I go for. Also asking about spoilers & bumpers due to weight it might sound dumb but I still don’t know a whole lot
Nothing is wrong with the car, sorry about the jokes but the joke is really just the drivers. Most cars available are either front or awd, and watching drivers get into a rwd car and have no idea what they are doing, gives you the result of a crowd killer. You see Bmws and Mercedes drivers do it all the time too. Just take your time understanding rwd cars. They can test your skill, and are personally the best cars for track.
@@georgemcunty6383the dealership lied about the maintenance and it was my daily. My first sports car too to add so that was fun dumping a few grand to get it running enough to trade. If you can find a well maintained it should be fine but nowadays people dog the shit outta them and the decent ones ain’t worth the price rn.

What's your bolt on mod list? Just got my Ecoboost and i want to mod it but i want it to stay reliable.
Finally an S550 Mustang ngl this has been my attainable dream car I hope to save up for a 15-17 GT Premium one day
Absolutely go for it, they're such fun cars. If you want a premium, I recommend going for a 16 or 17 as they come with the updated Sync 3 system
@ okay thanks I’ll make a mental note on that
Same here

My s550 manual ecoboost is making 523whp, 580lbs/ft of torque. Thing will blow your socks off
still cant hear the v8
All that money you waisted to make it that fast, you could of just bought a v8 with some bolt ons 🤦🏽♂️
