The song at 28:50 is called "Sheriff McGiven". Great performance - I love the sets Josh Ritter does to give back to the radio stations that support him! Thanks for sharing.
I still love The Curse; I’m sure he’s tired of singing it but I mean what an original! Wish I could have been at Rose In Rye; bet it was wonderful. Ty Josh Ritter.
This was a small show exclusively for listeners of our awesome radio station. Josh had an awesome time and the venue is BEAUTIFUL. You should come visit us!
@1071ThePeak I mean, Josh seems like he would have an awesome time at the DMV, he's going to be positive no matter the circumstances. That said, I am sure he had a great time performing in a lovely atmosphere by the beach. But the audience is clearly a bunch (and I say bunch generously) of old rich , half interested people who seem as concerned about their drink orders as the music. I am not sure who organized your event, but why would they not do their best to get an audience involved? Get some people who actually want to enjoy the show visible? On just about every level outside of Josh's performance, this is a pathetic showing. That huge table next to him that could seat like 12 people is completely vacant for most of show before some random dudes wander in looking like they have no idea what the deal is. Great performance by a legend, but the event makes it seem like nobody cares and it absolutely does not do him justice.
@@doclobstyboy Incredibly judgmental. The table next to him is where he was sitting before the show. It seats about 4 tops. The dude sitting there during the show is the host from our radio station. The audience isn't mic'd so you can't hear them. There was a large chunk of people singing along to every lyric, not one cell phone in sight, and after he was done he received a great ovation and was flooded by people wanting to take photos and telling him how awesome he was. Some fans even drove from pretty good distances. The beach was packed. So you couldn't be more wrong. This was a great event and everyone went home happy. Josh even reached out a few days later to tell us how great of a time he had, how special he thought the evening was and how it was nice to play in front of an attentive audience that wasn't chatting in the background.
@@1071ThePeak It's not "judgemental," it's a failure of presentation if you are being truthful. Don't blame the viewer for your shortcomings. Being' mic'd up has nothing to do with it. Nobody wants to hear a mic'd crowd anyway, that's not what its about. It looks, from all presented angles, that nobody is there. Show some people enjoying the show if they exist. And "the dude sitting there" being the host doesn't make it any better. AGAIN, I have no doubt Josh thoroughly had a great time! It looks beautiful. My point is that Josh Ritter should be appreciated by more people, and specifically more people who actually want to see HIM and aren't just at a beach restaurant because they won a radio station prize for a free dinner and show.
A VERY talented artist, and someone with such passion and enjoyment in his performance. Outstanding!!
Most underreated musician alive. What a treasure.
100%

Love ya! We’ll maybe Ritters are biased. 😘
Had the pleasure of being in charge of the cameras in the back! What a wonderful performance :)
Great talent and new fashion statement.
It's so much fun watching the blonde lady on the couch slowly melt.

Josh and Conor Oberst are the two best American songwriters alive. Change mtly mind.
Jason Isbell.
Ritter and Isbell are inseparable in my mind of guys just working on another level for a long time.
I don't know about this performance. It's not very good singing. Energy is off in connecting to the crowd or something, really hard to listen too.
