I could see them having a use as table decoration in parties thrown by eccentric super-rich, along with piles of coco de mer, bananas, peaches, sliced strawberries, and solanum mammosum.
Jared, I've been thinking. I think you need to start planning trips with indigenous peoples of the world. This would allow you to possibly discover edible fruits that are either extremely rare or, if you're very lucky, completely novel to science. That would be crazy cool and entertaining. I remember going on a jungle hike with a local tribe, the Kreung, in Northern Cambodia. They showed me many, fascinating things in the jungle and among the things we saw was a type of wood that tasted like very mild, sweet liquorice. Now, I know that wood isn't a fruit but it just reminded me that these people knew so much about the forest that was probably not known by anyone else. There HAS to be so many discoveries to be made out there.
Could put into a pan and add a bunch of sugar and honey and some water boil until syrup, cut rind and all into strips, use as candy or to sweeten drinks
Fair point, tho i like the entertainment value of the struggle lol Might also need to get one at each new location cause airports He also has used knifes as camera platform so thats kinda a multi purpose knife heh
Gotta make enough money per video to justify a like 1-10 dollar purchase of tools to prep his food but him struggling with bad implements is like a meme now lol
I dig the 70's porn music in the beginning 😂 Btw, here in Denmark it really isn't easy getting your hands on very exotic fruit. The most normal, exotic fruit to get is probably lychee - which is great and I love it. But we can only dream about tasting fruits like sapodilla, sugar apple, custard apple and finger lime. Do you know a website that ships worldwide..? So far I haven't been able to find one because many of the fruits are so perishable 🤔
The most amazing thing about living in 2024 is that someone can make it all the way from middle America to Vanuatu without ever having learned even how to use a serrated knife……. 😢

I don't check my bag usually, so I buy knives when I arrive to a new place and then ditch them when I leave. For new Caledonia I didn't bother because Vincent was showing us around and he had a proper knife. I think for this particular episode he forgot it so I pulled out my emergency knife, which is a tsa friendly camping knife that you can put in your carry on.
It's okay, I don't think any of us would not do what you did cause we are all 12 no matter who we are, lol But Gosh Darn It, Your clever clickbait, made me click. Not that I haven't clicked on your videos for the past few years cause they are super interesting and educational. Pfft. Imagine. I certainly don't have 5 lemon trees and was curious how this one is different. That one certainly puts my Genoa and Santa Teresa Femminello to shame tho but only by like half um length. I do appreciate the effort to try to find a lemon that fruits in a different season. That and lime would be amazing. Too many times you will see limes being sold that are super dry with barely a drop of juice for your tacos, guac or ceviche. This looks like an interesting lemon to try to hybridize with another for a combo of characteristics. The idea of a lemon that is juicy with an aspect that is medicinal could work for sure. Gotta breed out the seeds and that hard core of course. As a side note, I got a Mandarinquat baby tree after watching a couple of your vids, but alas... extreme heat killed it. I'm so sad about that. Ah well.
Some lemon/citron plants don't produce very useful fruits despite their size(I'm looking at you Buddhas Hand). This video points out that fact. Bigger is often not better when it comes to citrus, unless it is a pomelo. If it isn't a pomelo and it is large, it is shit.
Come see me and my feature length documentary on NUTMEG

I used to live in Hawaii, and we had one of these trees in our yard. I called them Dino-lemons. They made good lemonade.
What island? I’ve never seen them in 3 decades on Maui.
@@hopegold883 Oahu. Near Hickam AFB.
Nipplemon, I choose you!

I bet that would be quite a party.
whoever decorated that, they are noob at exotic fruit. they need to binge watching weird explorer vids
Steven saying "twist it!" cracked me up.
Name sounds like a weird digimon
digimon, but .3gp 😂
What would be the digivolution lineup? I'm curious.
Hahaha omg so true, even kinda looks like one just chuck some eyes and little arms and legs and ur good to go!

Hmm its like the final boss of the recurring ressemblance statements in usually Citrus videos lol
Reminds me in shape, of some oranges I've eaten in rural Florida. No tangelos lol
Seems to be kind of a Citrus medica / Etrog. Very interesting, indeed.
Never seen this lemon in Hawaii, nice!
Nipplemon what will thay come up with next chillipenus
it's called Peter pepper and I have a video on it... maybe I need to do a top ten x rated fruits video 😄
I'd love to see some jucier content!
@WeirdExplorer
@@WeirdExplorer I know I've seen it 😝
Didn't know it was that cold in Vanuatu. 😛
Oh hey, i think it'll be good to make Nipplemon Candy.
*looks at the video thumbnail*

I wanna make a cake with those limanges. Yumm!!
Your reaction to the name and shape of it makes me cackle.
Lol I saw notification and thought you started posting Pokémon content.
What a cool shape! 🌿
The hybrid looks amazing!!
Hey, Jared, what did that defenseless nipplefruit ever do to you???!
that hybrid at the end looked very juicy!
4:23 Just recognized that beanpod. That's an _Inga_ species, ice cream bean.
yep!
no matter how sour the lemon, at least is not ginger fruit all over again.
Haha, I laughed so much. Love
I wonder when you are gonna eat cecropia fruit.
Interesting and educational, and yet I kept envisioning the Minions watching this and ROTFL the whole time…
Was expecting a Digimon with. Quirks? Ngl.
can you please do black ginger, Kaempferia parviflora
Umami hybrid? Sounds delicious
How do you get the juice out? 🤣
What is the fruit at 1:45 ?
Udderfruit
@stevenmurray3238 Thank you❤️
i dont think they named that after a place, but more likely an... "experience" IYKWIM 😏
Why don't you carry around a pocket knife? I feel like every other video you're struggling to cut into a fruit with a spoon or something.

How do I get one of these cross breeding fruit jobs?
They have some big pokies!
it's cold outside, let those lemons in.
Probably was grown in a colder region.

Looks more like a fig though
Could have called it a fig lemon, but noooo....
Why are you "cutting" your fruit with such a "knife", is there a story to it? Is it from a flight?

Such a nonsense. A week ago I made a Carpaccio Calabrese from a huge Citron (Citrus medica), together with cheese and ham, and it was delicous.
I've had two pomelos lately that should have been furniture polish.
