I had this exact thing happen to me the last time I played Yuriko. I eventually got rid of it with a Flood of Tears or something but it was far too late by then. Yuriko is completely fine with being removed but cannot handle being Beetle'd/Tree'd/Elk'd
Elking is fine since you probably can ninjutsu him to your hand at some point. Beetling is harder but you can (in theory) still ninjutsu him to your hand.
You missed an Aura Shards trigger when you played the Grim Haruspex, could've popped that Smothering Tithe a turn earlier. People were just straight up playing artifacts & enchantments right into the open maw of Aura Shards too 😅 I laughed, I cried, I was entertained!
@@faerie7dragon Savage! I'm surprised Scott didn't have any other backups? Counters? Bounce spells? My yuriko is a lot more resilient. And that's why people hate it
@@bt5087 I would be surprised of he had another answer beyond Cyclonic Rift in the entire deck. At least now Zendikar 3 has a new flexible removal spell for enchantments.
Elvish Guidance would have added enough mana for the Song of the Dryads to not tap the Llanowar Elves. It counts all elves in play, which includes the Fauna Shaman.
DarkEinherjar - agreed, it’s like putting Farseek in a mono-green deck. We have all seen the person cast it and then realize what just happened. Or the person who equipped Lightning Greaves to their only creature and then tried to equip another equipment.
I figured Scott would play his Clever Impersonator as a copy of your Aura Shards on turn 3 and then blow up the Song of the Dryads (or possibly the original copy of Aura Shards to keep all that value). He played the Sol Ring so he had 5 mana up and that Pteramander in hand. We all miss plays now and again, but having his Yuriko treed really stopped his deck from working.
It was a deck he borrowed, so misplays and not seeing perfect lines can be expected. That is a good suggestion on how to have gotten him out of the situation though!
@@MTGMuddstah Makes sense. I felt bad for him not getting to play with an out in hand, but we've ALL been there at some point. Some of us with our own decks that we built ourselves.
Ok, so in Dimir, how do you get rid of the Song of the Dryads? Beg other players ? Counter it before it’s resolved is the easy answer. Ok, I’ll let myself out.
At 7:56 you made a little mistake. With the new rules change a commander is moved to the grave and at the time state based effects are checkt you may choose to return it to the command zone. So you should have drawn one more card :D

@@kickinwang1817 I'd say "run it if your local meta is full of graveyard decks." Yes, it's good to have graveyard hate, but it's also narrow hate that can be completely dead if it doesn't do anything else for your deck's strategy.
playing out yeva on your turn is a mistake. you shoud always flash her in before your turn, if built correctly, you can win before your upkeep, but I assume this deck is not like the high powered cEDH version.
Turning a ninja into a tree... once again, Kaguya approves.
That moment that Yuriko is both a swamp and a forest at the same time
I really like that Yargle swords to plowshares
Haha me too! I love those variants.
Silly ninja,. You're supposed to swap with a tree, not turn into one.
*angry Yamato noises*
LOL substitution Jutsu fail
“But settle of a hermit Druid because I’m a degenerate” ah I see ur a fellow man of culture
Kind of one of those unfortunate games where only one player is really in it, and it really only becomes a matter of time for that person to win.

It's easy to forget sometimes. I've seen players with Priest of Titania constantly forgetting to count the opponents' elves.

On Turn 10 you played 2 lands for your turn. I can't believe you'd stoop so low -_-
Shoot! Good catch. I am a dirty cheater =(

It's been so long since I saw a karador on your channel! Great stuff
Akiri survives... she gets caught by Jace and Nissa who were trying to get the lithoform core from Nahiri
That's what WotC wants you to think. Incoming Spellbook:Akiri.
Lol was totally going to post this as well! AKIRI LIVES!
Well played good sir, well played

Cyclonic rift, other ninjutsu spells (for elk), black has that new destroy enchantment, snap to name a few

8:00 Would the new Commander Death rules let you draw 4 cards from the Grim Heiruspecs with the Wrath of God?
Yes, however this was filmed in the Summer of 2019, well before the rule change.
I love Karador, I just built my own deck. It's great fun I'd love to see more of your deck
Ah, now we know where all of Muddstah's dual lands are.
Is this filmed before the RC to allow a draw off karador from haruspex off die trigger?
Yes. This was filmed during the Summer of 2019.
I was looking for steve but setle with hermit druid cus i am a degenerate, looks like me!!!!

You'd be correct if this was filmed recently. Sadly, this was back in the Summer of 2019, before that glorious change.
@@MTGMuddstah Oh, i see. Too bad, extra cards are always nice :)
So why didn't you blow up Smothering Tithe with your Aura Shards from Haruspex in Turn 8? (7:51)
Edit: well you did it a turn later.
Is through the whole video:
NOOOOOO SCOOOOOOTTT!!! What’s goin ooooon fam?!!?
Me too. As a Yuriko main I was crying for a bounce spell 😭
From the deck introductions alone, I HAVE to root for Karador, if nothing else for using the Yargle StP aka one of the best flavor texts of all time.
2 lands in turn 10. Is it correct?
Great game I like the hermit Druid move made your commander so cheap
at 1:51 peter could have gotten unlimetid mana with his elf
How many goblins *would* a goblin gob...
First time being first. Also loving the new uplaod schedule and i wanted to remind u muddstah to take breaks if u need them
What new upload schedule? I've been posting Monday and Thursday's for the last few years.
Im confused now, wasnt it only mondays
Nope. It's been Monday and Thursday for at least 3 years.
Keep up the great work I love the videos
So, to sum up this game. Karavdor vs three other people that didn't really feel like playing Magic today.
9:47 10:16 why you play two lands this turn🤣🤣
No Akiri list :(
I still want to know how many gobs a goblin could gob...
Hey, Muddstah!
Nice game. Thanks for the great content.
Also, what do You think about TWD cards?
Where’s Boros?
More Yuriko?!!? Is it Christmas already?!!? 🥰💪🏾✊🏾👍🏾
You must be dissapointed lol
Elvish guidance produces 2 mana in adition to what the land produced because fauna shaman is an elf too. He overpaid on turn 3.
I'd like to make a bargain with Peter's gamemat. Lol j/k I just miss the original Vs System TCG.
Loved how the yuriko player almost didn't play this time hahaha.
Yay, Karador!
I miss the VS system
I dont even know wth that yuriko deck was even doing.
The lack of graveyard hate displayed here is egregious
Unless they're running Stax/hatebears or Helm of Obedience combos, it's rare for players to have nonland graveyard hate.
@@DarkEinherjar and that right there is why a large portion of commander players complain about GY decks being "OP".

I don't think I've ever had a relic of progenitus that was a dead draw in a game of commander even when there wasn't a graveyard focused deck.
Peter let his entire board die with 6 Mana available to recast Yeva. Sword of Paruns is also a terrible card in Yeva. Good on him to Song the Yuriko.
Andrew my guy, why didn't you use surveil AT ALL, doom whisperer is a god tier card in a deck like yours and you just let it sit there being sad. smh
today I learned how to say Reveillark
what are your opinions on the walking dead cards?
I have no issue with crossovers. I am worried about the precedent it will set with unique cards being printed in a very limited fashion / run.
Atleast show the combo playing out 1 loop.
Agreed, 'Though Shalt Demonstrate Thy Loop'
