Emu's World S4E1 (1983) - FULL EPISODE

- The Pink Windmill Kids get a pet goldfish, while Grotbags concocts a potion that gives her super strength. Is this the end for Emu? (Of course not, but I don't think I've spoiled the suspense by telling you that.)
The songs included are The Beautiful Briny (from Bedknobs and Broomsticks), with a bit of Yellow Something-or-other thrown in, and Neil Sedaka's All You Need Is the Music mashed up with Liquid Gold's Dance Yourself Dizzy. I previously labelled this as the second episode in the series, but now believe it to be the first, originally broadcast on Wednesday, 7th September, 1983.
(Please remember that this is an old VHS recording, so don't go expecting 1080p HD quality. I'm fairly certain that this video isn't commercially available, and I've uploaded it for its historic interest only. That said, if you are a copyright holder and object, please don't hesitate to contact me.)

There were at least two different Croc suits and three different Croc actors down the years... so I suppose you could describe that as a "makeover"! ;-)

Good question - it's a sort of a plot hole that I'm not sure was ever truly explained. At times Grotbags makes reference to capturing Emu so that she could "control all the brats in the world" or even "rule the world" itself. How doing one would result in the other is beyond me! Apparently Emu had special powers or something...
Because the Parkinson show was Rod's act for adult audiences - an act which, by his own admission, couldn't really go anywhere beyond five or ten minutes of aggressive mayhem. He essentially reinvented Emu as a fully-formed children's character for these shows, though you will find clips where he goes after audience members, celebrity guests or (of course) Grotbags. He just wasn't as aggressive as he was for adult appearances.
Yeah - never really *truly* explained fully, that one. But at least it was a good excuse to laugh at her incompetence!

That would be great.. I only recorded the dance routines at the time. They are all now posted but were recorded onto Philips V2000 tape and then onto VHS hence the loss of some quality.
I have the names for all the S4 PWKs just in case anyone wants to know!

Absolutely! There was another clip (since taken down from UA-cam unfortunately) that ended with Larry Grayson getting goosed - possibly the peak of light entertainment. :-)
Didn't croc have a makeover? I seem to remember he was much scruffier originally!

He was in series two, but unfortunately had to skip series three before returning for series four.
@@VideotapeFTW It's funny to think that Joe Greco would go on to other projects with CITV & CBBC after his time with Rod Hull and Emu such as: Motormouth (as Bellboy Jimmy in the Spin Off Sketches), One of the original presenters on Playbus/Playdays, The original Tatty Bogle in Wizadora for Series 1 & 2, Spatz and many more.
How come Emu never behaved belligerently on this show, like he did with Michael Parkinson, Jimmy Tarbuck ect?...
