- Suminagashi is an ancient art of Japanese marbling. The technique was used in a project of Another New Design Studio.
This video is made so our design receivers see the making process.

Thanks :)
Elegant.
Thank you :)
Beautiful! may I ask what type of ink you use?
Hi! I saw your comment just now.. Sorry. Traditionally, sumi ink. Alternatively, I use drawing ink, calligraphy ink, or chinese calligraphy ink. You will need to add a tiny bit of surfactant like Photo-Flo or diluted dish detergent (alternatively (I never try but it suppose to work)) so the ink float nicely. One paintbrush loaded with the ink and the other loaded with water also mixed with tiny bit of Photo-Flo. They will float on clean water. Give it a try!
what kind of paper is used for marbling
Hi Nudrat, I'm sorry for the late reply. I saw all the comments just now. It is sumi paper. You may find them in art supplies store. They are used for calligraphy and ink drawing. Give it a try! :)
