Very good question, ask me sometime on stream what I think would be some mechanics that are simpler to learn and also very fundamentally useful/rewarding/efficient and I’ll show you. Tbf, since thats a shitty answer I’ll give you some examples of mechanics that are very useful. -Powerslide cuts & fake direction changes (watch my YT tutorial dawg) -Single jump (with potential touches/airdribble) into delayed flip out of a dribble AND after a bounce (both are very strong because the delayed flip can create a lot of power/direction change by getting under the ball and maybe using a lil air roll or you can even fake it) -Hookshots -Normal double jump air dribbles after bounce or out of a dribble -Basic dribbling (ball on your car, be able to control and turn left / right or even turn fully around with ball in control -Simple flicks (ball on your car -> flip diagonally forward to flick ball) -45 degree flip -Dribbling into double jump for lower ranks (can even be good high ranks depending on situation ofc, but works very well until like diamond as finisher). double jump can again be extended with touches thats why double jump air dribble out of a normal dribble is important, it makes this attack even stronger. Probably a lot more stuff but its easier when I have the game in front of me to show you, hope it helps slightly tho!
@@pokemontobias9721 not to undermine flakes but air dribbles are very unsafe. If you want to rank up, don't air dribble because you'll be caught out of position when you're trying to recover
@@ht3k i agree, only utilize these ‘more advanced’ mechanics if you can do them 8 or 9 times out of 10 times consistently OR if you’re already up by like 4 goals with 10 seconds left, because you’re full committing basically and decent chance you get scored on if you don’t score yourself!
@@ht3k agree, do it consistently enough just like flakes said if you want to use it in ranked, learning how to stop air dribbles is more important imo, stop someone doing air dribble, and its an easy 2v1
Guy's really focus on how when he's on offense, he advances diagonally up the field in relation to where his opponent is. This does a couple of important things. 1. Creates a "threatening presence" on the field, that makes it look like you can outplay your opponent. 2. You present yourself like if they were to challenge, you would be able to defend the ball while winning the challenge. 3. Going diagonally from your opponent allows for more offensive options such as power slide cuts, bounce dribbles, etc... Also take notice that before he goes for any ball, he looks to see where his teammate is at on the field and whether he, himself, is a first man or last man. Like Flakes said "You always need a last man." Another important thing to take away from this is that at 15:57 he sees the opponent is hitting towards the net so he gets into a position to shadow the movement of his opponent and where the ball is going to end up. This is achieved by not moving past the goal line until he knows the shot (in this case - top right corner) will not be an option for the opponent to shoot. This way he can save the shot when it's placed anywhere in the net. Once he sees that option is no longer viable he judges where the opponent's hit is actually going and since he's moving with the ball straight across the net he can save the ball with ease.
Ive just started watching this series and it's unbelievable how calm you are. I'm literally getting frustrated by your teammates going for almost every ball, including when you have it.
I gotta thank you flakes... just the tips from the 1v1 series alone has propelled me to champ and hopefully beyond!!! who knew the key to ranking up was just waiting for people to fuck up and driving it in??

Try faking direction changes / try finding out if your outplays aren’t to the side enough or if you’re doing it too late, you gotta figure out what mistake you’re making and then try to work on it to get better :) For bumps, after getting a touch to the side you can drive to the side / jump if you feel like there’s a chance of getting bumped, watch your replays where you make mistakes and find out whats going wrong & work on fixing it
I was this type of player back then.. I got to diamond before I practiced aerialing 😂 dribbling and outplaying people was so fun to me and I hated that nobody played last man

It's so funny watching road to ssls. Most of the stuff they do doesn't have to do with the difficulty of the mechanics, but their positioning/game sense. But then they just hit a ball on a wall and then say "this is a diamond level pass" 🤣
While these tactics are so op in 1v1, with each added player it becomes less practical. Not only do you have more opponents to get past, but more teammates adds another variable.
