The lead singer Annika Ljungberg founded the group Rednex in 1994.
The song "Wish You Were Here" was released in 1995.
Blackmore is not only a legend, he's a musical genius. What he did with this song is beyond belief!

One of the songs that helplessly brings tears in my eyes.
It's the best version I know. There's another by a singer from Germany but this version has a unique charm and feeling that I simple can't deny. It's beautiful, romantic and also sensual. Amazing. I searched the band and I didn't know it was a Folk/Rock band.
God I love this song, the original and this fantastic cover. Blackmore's Night is one hell of a group.
Excellent version. Anything Ritchie Blackmore plays sounds great. He is truly the master of all rock guitarist.
Listening to this again in 2022 after 7 years. My ex boyfriend introduced to me this band and this songs, we used to sing and play the guitar together.

Man erkennt Ritchie sofort, obwohl es nicht sein altes Genre ist. Könnte ihm stundenlang einfach nur zuhören.

I listened to this on an unmarked college radio tape many, many times wondering who the hell this guitarist was. Beck? Gilmour? The guy(s) from Al Stewart's album Modern Times? Turns out it's all of them. Most Underrated Guitarist Ever. Heartbreaking vocal emotion, perfect compliment on guitar, and a good song made great too! What more do you want?

This song is brilliant.. I'm a huge Deep Purple fan and I know that alot of DP fans want to see Ritchie play Rock again but I'm so satisfied.. listen to this.. this is what I would call MUSIC !!!!!!
When I became a fan of Blackmore during 1981 I never thought he would fall so low as this. Rednex? A Swedish comedy act? Well, they're in his league I guess since Blackmores Night is a comedy act as well!

Это ни ричи. Он аранжировками никогда не занимался и не умеет их делать еще со времен Deep Purple. В Blackmore's night есть некоторые професиональные музыканты которые пишут песни, блэкмор только играет свою партию которую для него написали. Еще в BN есть помимо блэкмор еще помоему 2 или 3 гитариста которые постоянно страхуют эго во время концертов что бы он не сбивался с ритма как это было очень часто в Deep Purple. Это обьясняет почему Лорд играл ритм партии для гитары на хаммонде. Здесь только типичная электрогитара блэкмора, только здесь он уже не может играть свои знаменитые хаотические соло. Мне кажется что в этом случае блэкмор играл на записи только на электрогитаре, так как это то что может сыграть блэкмор

This song has always had a special place in my heart. Heard it when I was 4 or 5 years old and it has been my favourite since. My dad knew that and constantly turned it on when I was sad. He's gone now, and this song reminds me of him. So sad that the lyrics I didn't understand as a child now have come so very true to me.
