Hi Dritan, I can’t find the correct answer, but i get the impression it’s not written in stone and can be different per country: When i search for “Flat White” receipts, i get: 2x espresso, 1x milk or 2x ristretto, 1x milk or 1x espresso and 2x milk. Hi Dritan I have been watching your videos for sometime. I must say they are very informative and have learnt a few things from them. I use Lavazza coffee super crema and really like espresso. But at home I cannot get the same taste as in coffee shops. My coffee becomes bitter or too sour. Can u please guide me what is the grind size best for espresso ie from 1 to 10. I am using sage bambino machine with sage coffee grinder Thanks
You have guys like Mr Hoon who likes to have fun With his espresso machines, and then you have this guy who puts to shame most baristas out there without saying many words 👍🏼
he's doing a brew ratio calculation. so many grams of ground coffee in the portafilter basket to so many grams of extracted espresso out from that dose.
Thanks for this comparison! I am lucky to have a Línea Mini and every now and then have looked at the GS3. I guess I just don’t see an advantage to upgrading to a GS3 from a Línea Mini other than looks (which are subjective). However, I can’t wait for you to get your hands on a new La Marzocco Leva One Group home edition. That’s a machine I may want to give up my Línea Mini for 😃
The advantage is Pre-Infusion and controlling the Shot Profile with the MP - I got mine used and dirt cheap, and rebuilt it some, and it was worth it. The MP is for the Barista, the Linea Mini is for the espresso lover who wants just a consistent cup. Beans, seasons, roasting, all change, so profiling helps get the roast the best it can be no matter the variables :)
@@brettb1 the mini doesn't do real preinfusion, its basically a adjustable pre-wet, (i have one), one big downside at this price point is the mini has lots of vibration problems as you heard in this video, its sounds rather atrocious with rattling cups and resonance, I was only able to solve it by outboarding the pump to the cabinetry under the machine. I tried lots of sound deadening and tweaking things here and here, but they messed that up, GS3 also has mixed hot water valve, so it isn't sputtering flash boiling water at you, form factor is different which is a major workflow quality of life thing whether yuo want to work under the ledge of the linea design or out in the open. but both make good espresso.
I never see Dritan uses WDT or any other tedious tools/steps before he makes an espresso. He doesn't even weigh the cup during extracrion. Unlike many home baristas who took so long and tedious steps in preparing their coffee. I bet Dritan's coffee tastes better than most of them.
Sorry to break this to you but your comment is rather ignorant. There is no argument that a WDT is a great tool. There is solid proof backing this up. However, it is not a necessity. Those who weigh their extractions while pulling the shot are getting consistent results which is what you'd want if you're still getting used to espresso or if you own a cafe. Consistency is important. It is what gets you experience and with experience, over time, you are able to pull gorgeous shots by looking at the flow of the coffee, you'd know estimations of how long you want to pull your shots for given your recipe. As for taste, what you like is what truly matters. Personally, I know I would prefer the shot Dritan pulled with the GS3 without even needing to taste it first.
@@kidroid2317 there is no point weighting the dose after tamping : if he needs to take a gram out, he will have to dig in the puck, which will cause cracks. And you can’t tamp over cracks. You need to do it all over again. And there is no point weighting the shot if you don’t start a timer at the same time : « look I did... 43 grams »... ok and how long did it take? Time is a reference to adjust other variables like grind setting and dose weight. No time, no reference. So he did it for the show but it was absolutely pointless. Couple other things but if you’re not in the specialty coffee business you won’t mind.
@@vab120 I think he's the professional who's been through too many extracts to remember, so he's just weighting for the sake of quality acceptance. There could be a rough range of acceptable weight/extraction in his mind. He might just want to know how much weight he got, and how much he extracted. I don't think he'd be bothered if the ground coffee was 17.6 g instead of perfect 18; hence, weighting after tamping.
