It’s never easy to make money in PLO in the short term no matter who you are playing against as you can see in a couple of these pots he’s still going to lose about half the time even as the favorite. Gotta run hot which he obviously did.
Toms feel for the game is crazy. He has such a good understanding/game sense to know when to call off light and when to make tight folds.

So basically in PLO, you spend half the time going all in pre or on the flop, and the other half of the time figuring out how to split up the pot based on how many times you ran it and stack sizes.
I don't like PLO simply for that reason, non-experienced players will just be met with confusion post-hand deciding who tf wins what

Dwan ran ridiculously well in this game. He never got scooped running it twice, even when he had one out in a huge pot against Pav. He's not even that good at PLO; he's just playing against donks and running hot.
It went on for a week marathon sessions, Dwan played like 60% 70% VPIP of all hands -- that is overall skill, not just luck -- he was limping a lot because maniacs at table

Better to call on a board with 5 diamonds than 3. He should definitely check decide that river though.
You have to play two cards from your hand, so you can only have a flush if you're holding two of a suit. With 5 on the board it makes it less likely for him to have them.
@@Shimmy2Outs Very true but a lot of folks don't know that basic fact, the concept of having to play 2 of your cards and what that means in relationship to the board escapes them. Let alone the odds of any hand you hold.
