If you move it back just a little bit that rubber flap is supposed to sit on top of tailgate. Put tailgate up first. Then lock tonneau cover with rubber flap on the top of the tailgate
@@RaffiRed The cover fits with one problem. It is a little short. I used the foam strip across the front of the bed, top rear edge where the cover does not quite reach. Again, it is too short to seal at the front & rear on its own. The extra foam tape included can just seal the front top space. They should have made the cover 2 inches longer for a good seal. It is very light & rolls up small for a great view out the back compared to all other roll ups, which are thicker & block the rear view way more. I am happy.
Got my hybrid XLT maverick last week put a after market cover on its the same thing but no ford logo or PRICE took about an hour easy DIY project thanks 4 the information
The clamp system on this bed is the same as the clamps for my ‘89 F-150 canopy. This system is not acceptable for me. It’s totally in the way when the cover is open and I want to use the bed in open mode. I will look for something different or just go with the open bed. I was considering this accessory, but it’s now off my list. Definitely paint them black! They will look so much better and refined. Maybe even take some sandpaper and round off and de-burr the corners and edges a bit before you paint them to improve the look and remove the sharp unfinished edges. Thank you for showing us this package. This is a good informational video. The yellow color on your Maverick is certainly eye catching. I like it.
@@russellroutt3448 I would not be to picky about it. Basically any off the shelf spray paint intended for out door use on metal in the color of your choice.
I am glad you like the video. As far as racks I would check for the ford website or check to see if other ford Maverick exclusive website have them. Since the truck is so new there isn’t going to be a lot of choices. Thanks for the comment.
I’m getting this installed for me in a few weeks when my truck arrives. After having it for a while is this pretty good for basic use? I just need something to cover my bed.
I just installed mine, but I’m questioning the part that sits below the cab window opening. The wearer strip part is facing upwards instead of planted down. I don’t know if that’s how it’s supposed to be or not?
When driving with the cover closed the top part close to the back window does shake because there’s wind going and out. But the part toward the latch does not move at all. I might need to get a better weather strip seal later.
Thanks. The only thing I messed up on was the width of the rails. Had to retighten just a pinch closer to the bed.
I am glad that everything worked out.
Great video 👍 way better than instructions
I appreciate the feedback. I am glad it help you out.

Doesn't that create a bigger gap on the cab side?
Good instructional video!!!
You can get it for $189.00 if you use your Ford Pass points that you get when you buy it. Great deal. For the price they work great.
Great looking truck,,, I believe I may get this cover for my XL.
Thanks, you should definitely get it. Is a bit short just fyi but still does the job.
They are building mine this week. You made this look great. I will probably get it. Thanks.
Yesterday I pick it up. Very nice truck. I will order this cover very soon. Thanks again.
Awesome let me know how it fits whenever you get it.

Yeah I hate it that is too short but it does the jobs is supposed to do. I wish it was a bit longer to cover more.

What kind of paint should you buy to paint the clamps?

I am glad the video was helpful. I appreciate the comment.
Black is the best way to keep everything looking uniform / stock look. Thanks for the comment!
Nice
Awesome! Thanks!!
How has this held up? Has no one tried to cut it? Does it pool water in the rain? Good video
Thank you for the video. to your knowledge are there any bed racks that fit with this cover?

Did you use the bulkhead weather strip?
I’m getting this installed for me in a few weeks when my truck arrives. After having it for a while is this pretty good for basic use? I just need something to cover my bed.
Yeah same here. I still like it a lot.
Do you think with it rolled up against cab that you could jam a 21" dirt bike wheel up against the bed without it squashing into the cover?
Does your get air trip in it when driving like it catch air

Is this the one for 369.00?
After having it for a little while, how is it when you drive? Does it shake a lot when driving or make noise?
When driving with the cover closed the top part close to the back window does shake because there’s wind going and out. But the part toward the latch does not move at all. I might need to get a better weather strip seal later.
Is this the same one that you can get on Amazon for less?
Not sure if is the same! But it might be.
Do I need to roll it all up when I go to a drive thru car wash?
If you wished to wash the truck bed when you put thru the car wash then yes if not then have it closed.
According to truxedo’s instructions you are supposed to clamp down the bed cover before you lock the tailgate. Not the other way around.
Does it flap or rattle on the freeway?
It does flaps but it doesn’t make noise. Only the center where there not much support from the inside bar support. But that doesn’t bother me much.
Is the cover water proof?
Only problem is that it can be cut easily and thieves can steal anything in the back.
What bed matt is that?
I don't have a bed mat yet. However, I will be doing video about soon. Stay tuned for the video. Subscribe if you can. Thanks for the comment.
Any noise on highway??
No noise when I am on the highway or regular road.
What is a "tarneo" cover? It's a tonneau cover. LOL
