When I was 14 years old, I rember realizing just how wicked I was for the first time. I knew there was a hell and I was absolutely horrified of going there. I was tormented by the fear that I wasn't good enough to make it to heaven. And I was seeking desperately to justify myself by stopping my sins and being good. But I found out rather quickly that it was impossible to stop what was my very nature and essence of being. And I was made aware by God's grace, how that my own righteousness wasn't gonna cut it. And that I needed HIS robe of righteousness. I needed Jesus. And thankfully I found him and he saved me. Praise the lord
Perfect description of my soul. My goodness how I have tried but I MUST fully depend on Christ Jesus. Oh how the human will thinks it to be strong. I am nothing without Christ. Stubborn sinful human that I am. I can do nothing on my own. Nothing.......Lord reveal my heart to me and let me fear you only.
I am Sooo thankful that you post these sermons they minister deeply to my soul . So thankful that we can listen to these golden sermons from this Godly preacher .
Man this guy's vocabulary is so beautifully accurate about painting a picture of mankind He's like Bob Ross with a paintbrush except his paintbrush is his verbiage I love these old messages so thankful God inspired him to write them down!
brother spurgeon knew the depths of the word and the depths of sin, his sermons hit me to the core. i hope and pray that whoever listens to them are edified. that they are lifted up. that he or she that listens will repent and trust in jesus.
Jesus the True Vine 1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit. 3Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing.

All I know is that I need Jesus and his word to cleanse me from head to toe. I really appreciate Mr. Spurgeon's honesty.
