Eastleigh Station on 4th February 1998
    Welcome to 1998
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Eastleigh taken on 04/02/1998 seen from the south end of the station. This visit was a bit of a test recording as I was trying out a new broadcast camera that I had for a couple of months. The audio may at times have been set too high and the colour balance was a little awkward as it was getting dark, so needed constant attention. A very busy scene with HSTs, class 47s and a mainline liveried class 58. A couple of shunters are seen and a few arriving aeroplanes from Guernsey and Jersey thrown in as well. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.

Great video. Been there today, delivering to Arlington works. That's one hell of a tight bridge on Campbell rd😅

Lovely video. Year before I got my driving job at Salisbury. I could have been a guard on one of those Pigs or slammers. Happy days 😊

Not many of the trains may still be in service (apart from the 159s), but the Chinook may be 🤠
