As a Palantir investor I wish this guy would focus on Palantir and bringing up the value of the company. The company takes one step forward and two steps back, and has so much potential if the leadership would focus. Just an opinion, I agree with the political stuff, I just feel the entire interview was dedicated to politics rather than Palantir..

Only money and power is important here while truth and justice is an after thought. Instead of talking about the place people are dying they are talking about other places where people are protesting to stop that same mass slaughter and wondering why they are doing that. Lord have mercy. God is watching and He will bear witness. May He have mercy on all of us.

This guy obviously did not see the movie Oppenheimer. His talk of “rot” is very rotten. He seems to completely try to cancel what happened to Oppenheimer during the McCarthy era. During the McCarthy era, academic freedom faced severe challenges, and prominent intellectuals like J. Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein were caught in its crossfire. Lonsdale is the right wing persecutor of people like Einstein and Oppenheimer.
    J. Robert Oppenheimer, a brilliant physicist and key figure in the development of the atomic bomb, had his security clearance revoked during the Red Scare. The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) accused him of having ties to communism, which effectively ended his government role and cut him off from his former career and scientific community. His association with left-leaning friends and colleagues raised suspicions, and he became an academic exile, unable to contribute to the world he had helped create. Albert Einstein, renowned for his groundbreaking work in theoretical physics, was deeply concerned about the curtailing of academic freedom. In March 1954, he publicly advocated for “the right to search for truth and to publish and teach what one holds to be true” despite the prevailing climate of fear and suspicion. Einstein’s left-leaning views and friendships made him a target during the McCarthy era. He understood that academic freedom was essential for intellectual progress and democratic values.
Institutions like Harvard University upheld academic freedom, resisting the general frenzy to find subversive scapegoats and standing against Senator McCarthy’s abuses. Tenured professors and teaching fellows faced difficult choices-risking statements on public issues or remaining politically inert. The climate stifled heroes and favored villains. This guy is a villain.

While Joe Lonsdale raises valid concerns about certain aspects of higher education, it’s essential to recognize that the perceived “rot” he attributes to colleges may actually reflect a positive shift toward a more multicultural and tolerant worldview. Rather than viewing ideological diversity as a sign of decay, we can appreciate it as an opportunity for growth. Exposure to diverse perspectives-whether cultural, racial, or ideological-enriches intellectual discourse and fosters critical thinking. The emphasis on “safetyism” and inclusivity aims to create an environment where all students feel welcome and respected. This aligns with broader societal progress toward recognizing and addressing historical injustices. Universities have historically been centers of social change and progress. Challenging established norms and questioning the status quo is inherent to academic exploration. The world is increasingly interconnected, and global challenges require nuanced solutions. A multicultural worldview equips students to navigate complexity and collaborate across borders. Rather than labeling this shift as “rot,” we can celebrate the evolution of colleges toward greater inclusivity, critical inquiry, and understanding of diverse perspectives
A quick question. Is it true that Lonsdale’s think tank, the Cicero Institute, has been part of a network of right-wing demagogues that has depicted unhoused people as subhuman, parasitical, and intrinsically criminal? This propaganda campaign has been said to contribute to a shift in public attitudes toward homelessness, resulting in increased violence against unhoused individuals and crackdowns on encampments in various cities. Is this what he stands for?

@@retirementplanner Correct call from ICC. Israel Prime Minister is now war criminal. You are defending a genocidal killer. You openly support starvation of citizens as a war tactic. Shame on you monsters. You have zero grounds to feel morally superior The Prosecutor seeks arrest warrants against Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and Yoav Gallant, the Israeli Minister of Defense, on the basis that they committed the war crime of ‘intentionally using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare’ under article 8(2)(b)(xxv) of the ICC Statute. The Prosecutor also seeks to charge the two suspects with various other war crimes and crimes against humanity associated with the use of starvation of civilians as a method of warfare under articles 7 and 8 of the ICC Statute. These include the war crimes of ‘[w]ilfully causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or health’ or cruel treatment, wilful killing or murder, and intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population. The proposed charges also include the crimes against humanity of murder, extermination, other inhumane acts and persecution with respect to deaths and injuries resulting from or associated with the systematic deprivation of objects indispensable to the survival of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
