- Hunting Horn tutorial for those wanting to learn a godlike weapon lol. If I forgot anything (which I probably did) leave it down in the comments. I love that the fastest move (B button in this case) uses a quaver, which is faster than the crotchet depicted for the Y button. It's a nice touch for those of us who play music irl.
3:20 I know I'm pretty late but if you're still playing horn, I found the easiest way to consistently get the free note is after I press B I hold down the note I want until the move finishes

Challenge time! I challenge you to fight a Ruiner Nergigante with the Hunting Horn, but you can never hit his head intentionally and have to build up your buffs during the hunt itself rather than beforehand!
Pfft that's not a challenge for a hunting horn main 😂 that's something I do with all fights unless my friends tell me to do it beforehand lol
lol only issue with that is muscle memorie will cause a hunter to go for the head lol

That horn is awesome I’ve actually been using horns more and pretty impressed with the support it gives. But I mean everyone loves damage so why not buff it more? Hah! To each their own and nice hunt!

I'd love to see hunting horn vs Furious Rajang... I've never had a good time with it...
I had to fight him like 5 times before I even had the patience to beat him.
I recommend waiting for his move and then only putting in a quick swing. If you can bait out his beam, that is a good opening. Do. Not . Get . Greedy
Now I see why longsword is the #1 weapon and the hunting horn is the least favorite....it just seem super complicated despite just playing the songs and getting your buffs
At first yeah, it's a lot to pay attention to. Though for me the Charge Blade makes me feel like I'm trying to do open heart surgery.

How do you do the LT music note?
After you do any attack, you can push LT to play the note.

I restarted a new character and have been doing a HH playthrough, this video has been a great help in learning it.
Specifically, the hilt-stab move is a godsend - so many other HH guide videos don't mention this!

@@nn4mz I believe you have excess to them once you hit Iceborne. Though each horn has different LT buffing songs

You can actually draw attack without playing a note if you neutral y, triangle if im not mistaken.

I have about 40-50 hours in MHW and I'd say about half of those hours are with hunting horn. I'm so mad that I never knew about the hilt stab shortcut notes. Thank you and while it may not be for everyone I enjoyed the pace of your video!

It's the Gala Layered armor you get from the appreciation fest they have.

Nice, very bold. I'll probably go through the game with the Longsword then when I get comfortable with the game switch off to my other two weapons.
I know I am two, three years late. I have been thoroughly enjoying Hunting horn, I am a greatsword main- Will always be one. However Hunting horn has stolen my heart entirely. Coming from GS, I've realized HH plays a lot similarly, when it comes to reacting and countering. Using your footing to get the right hit. I think that's why it works so well with my play style, because GS is kinda like HH but overly simplified, and no buffs. Don't get me wrong, I love my GS, and I will be playing MHWilds from the beginning with my child of destruction. However once I get to a certain point in the game, I will be helping players with my Harbinger of Chaos HH. XD
Hey great vid! Question...When would you do the echo songs instead of the left trigger move loop into hilt back into left trigger? Do you just do the echo songs to follow up B pokes and such?
Thank you. And If you land a knock down/KO and have 2 Impact/Dragan echoes then I would definitely do the song. Otherwise just do the echo note move. Or if its been a while, que up another attack up long and play it while its down. Or whatever song you want to add more time to.
Also sometimes, I just do stuff for style lol, not necessarily always optimizing my moves and damage lol
Woah... i didnt know i could dodge cancel or buffer another note into the two swing move. Thats very helpful to know
Nice, Appreciate the love for the Horn. It's my favorite weapon! I would love to see you hunt a monster that's a bit more nimble and all over the place. I have trouble with monsters like Rajang or Odagaron who are just all over the place!

The Odogaron is easier than you think. He often just jumps once or twice and then lands back where he started. Just do your thing at the side of his head and he will kindly jump into your hits. I love him.
Hunting horn: anticipate, retaliate
Wait a minute so there’s songs outside of the music sheet top right from you?
All of the songs for the current horn you have equipped will be up there on the top left, but each horn typically have a certain group of songs. I mostly just like horns with Attack L for damage lol.
No tail cut?
You can cut tails with the hilt stab but it would take foooorever.

14:52 and 15:15 - How do you leap on them so easily?
Use can use the clutch claw to grab into a part of the monster and either tenderize that part, or turn them (if you are on the head) and knock them into the wall. Though I think that's also a move that comes when you get to iceborne 🤔
