Just bought this plugin. I was running 5 or 6 plugins (Logic and IK Multimedia) on my vocal tracks. Took out everything but the IK White 2A Leveling Amplifier and added the CLA Vocals. Everything sounds so much better. Two words: Get this!
Wise words! I just got this with a couple other waves plugs. I look at CLA as incredible for salt and pepper finishing touches, hell you might even get a winning combo from the getgo! It's just inspiring, especially when you're making your own songs, not getting bogged down creating aux tracks and just creating. Love it
@BlackHeart Nice! Schepps EQ is crazy, that's prob the next thing I'll grab. Been demoing it this week. Vocal 1 preset is 🔥, adds some subtle air and fattens vocals. Happy music making!
Thank you Chris. I use your CLA signature vocal on many many things. I play and record tabla a lot and the "WALL" and "SPANK" makes the Tabla so full sounding. The "CHORUS" is my "go-to" hours. Its wonderfully fully sounding, without making things synthetic sounding. Yes you can't alter the effects much, but CLA knows his stuff, and i use CLA vocal on every CD i produce. Awesome stuff.
Recently Bought the CLA series for that go to Mix Quick Mix..Best pluggin i ever bought for the money..All the sounds have that WOW factor..Thanks Chris for the the Brilliance you bring to the business...

do these CLA package plugins use the same software algorithm as the CLA compressors do? i would think they could copy and paste the CLA76 code right into here to use it

Hi. Yesterday I bought this awesome plugin without realizing that it wouldn't work on Pro tools 8 LE. Is there anything I can do to make it work? Or just some salt and pepper and eat it raw? Will this work on pro tools 11? Please help!!

My one question is how to deal with de-essing? The introduction of high-end boost and compression will surely worsen a sibilant vocal. So the only choice is to put a de-esser after CLA Vocals, which also places it after the delay and reverb.
Not with CLA Vocals. Have you used it? I'm sure they done some kind of magical de-essing trick imbued into the EQ because I've ran it across dozens of vocals and never got any sibilance, which is crazy. Waves has a bunch of these artist plugins and most have a vocal effect but no other comes close to this plug. I don't know. It just works.
Kip Count - best is to take each ess l or shh and make them 5 to 8, maybe 10 db lower volume. at least 5 db. problem solved. no need for a de esser. and also do this to the t or tch.

Did he say Winger in a funny way ? Oh Mike Shipley (God Bless his Soul) was the guy who mixed Winger Pull and also Kip Winger This Conversation album..so Chris go mix your boring pop productions... Mike and Kip is so beyond your sonics.. and BTW I have this and other plugins by CLA .. check out the Peak levels ..all red all the time ... and sounds boxy... watching this feels like selling snakeoil back in the day ...next.

Seeing as push is a LA2A supposedly, you could choose a different compressor then add another instance of the plugin with Push

I love what this plug-in does to the vocals but it's so dog on much to where it muddies the mix. You have to do some tweaking to it.

EQ is going into the compressor, reducing intensity than if it was the other way around.

Depends on the DAW - but I haven't been able to do so so far.
So - I had tried it on PT with no success. I open FL studio and not only it allowed me to, as it was so easy I almost wanna hit myself.
Can this be used stand-alone for those of us in the non-DAW environments? I use a Tascam DP 24 to track and Sound Forge 17 to edit.

Is anybody treating the vocal track (subtractive EQ, HPF etc.) before inserting these plugins? Or are you just slapping this on top of the raw track?

It depends on your recording I suppose. This isn't going to fix your room resonance issues. So definitely work on those first.
