I bought a Richie Blackmore ENGL halfstack for $600 in the ghetto of Chicago out of some abandoned sketch ass warehouse that bands practiced at. Dude had have stolen it or simply needed coke really bad. This is pretty cool too.
Kinda of ironic. Cause i bought an engl savage 120 for 400$ years ago from a band that was feuding with another band and stole it. I felt bad but it wasnt my fight.
This was probably a good 15 years ago, but googlemaps shows the rock spot near midway in that shit hole neighborhood so that very well may be the place. How many abandoned warehouses are now studios/practice spaces? Def was a trip and an experience haha@@DayOfMyEntombment
Love thene synergy videos! Would love to see a complete guide to the Synergy stuff :) Btw it's fucking awesome that you're getting more active on your channel!
Wicked playing per usual. Do you use your p rails in standard humbucker mode or do you have the switching on board to allow you to use the p90 or single coil functions? #riffhard
@@JohnBrownemonuments do you use the bridge position in parallel rather than series for your rhythm playing? I'm assuming this is the case because there's so much clarity and note definition. Whichever configuration you use it compliments your play style in a great way
$400? Fuck no... you need to buy the module and the base. So it's actually a $1,295 (AUD but should be around/slightly less than $1K USD) Engl Savage. And that's only the preamp! Can pick up a Blackmore for about $1,500 (AUD) second hand.
Great presentation and playing as always, but I'm a little confused as to the 3:45 part. Description says it is sponsored. I might be misinformed as to what kind of deal this is though, so genuinely wondering. Anyone knowledgeable about this?
I came here every day to listening you playing..... Thanks for all magic moments but .... it was really fare for my hart you to record a complete playtrough of the track! what a moment .... Epic mini track......
Browne, you’re looking well bud. Content is fabulous with just the right level of depth to give us mere mortals a view of what some of this gear can do. That Synergy module thingy seems to open up many tonal options for not ridiculous expense. Keep churning out the great content mate. 👍🏻
I mean yes, you could also say that the guitar, cable, strings, skill, cab, computer and everything else associated with getting a sound means you're going to spend way more than that too haha. But after you've bough the SYN1, it's $400 for an Engl Savage.
400 $ isn't that special imo. I sold my Savage 60 for that price and for 350 eur ( approx 400$) I bought a Fireball 60. Engl amps in Europe can go for cheap
John Browne haha-you see dead people🤪 Just a quick question for u mate...I just bought a Syn30 head with the Diezel VH4 & ENGL Savage mod’s- and I’ve watched all ur Video’s regarding the Synergy system ect and no matter what I do I can’t get even close to the tight response and tone that you get?? I’m running the head straight into my Friedman 4/12 and pushing the front with a Precision Drive and the TC Dreamscape...any pointers you can throw @ me Mr 6th Sense😝👍 Awesome to hear from the man himself- love your work mate- fuckn mint🦾
Dude I seriously love your demos! The gear is dope, but watching you play is super inspiring man.

higler yeah i saw one in my area for like $800 with the cab too. nothing wrong with it, just a few scratches
They have really low resale value for some reason, they're great amps tho
Was it the Rock Spot? Lol

WOW.... one of the first times I've heard a tone that I love in the mix and alone! Most of the time it's one or the other. Sounds inspiring.
Tyler Saltmarsh hardly any post eq either, posted the settings in my players lounge on FB.
More like 1300$ ENGL Savage, because you need to buy pre-amp too :D
Such a solid player bro! Always enjoy watching you jam man! Keep up the great work !
just got this module due to your demo. that opening song was great! great job!
sounds massive, killer riffing
Love your playing man. That pick hand is especially wicked .

Brother u just sold me on this this single is going on my rack drawer 4cm into my helix very cool thanks
Woow! John , where I can find this song? Sound incredible!

1:41 you know you love what you're playing when you make faces like that
SO GREAT!
Incredible riffs.
I’ve been waiting on this one
That sounds snarly and grindy as fuck. So tasty.
Love the track dude!
John using all the expensive chords.
Dude...can you just upload videos of you playing? Seriously, I get so inspired listening to you play, no matter what it is.
Great demo! I'd love to see what you do with that new Neural DSP "Plini" plugin.
Helix!!! 😍
Great content, Browne. Love the conversational, laid back style.
Wicked playing per usual. Do you use your p rails in standard humbucker mode or do you have the switching on board to allow you to use the p90 or single coil functions? #riffhard
For the rhythm and leads it's on humbucker mode, for cleans it was in single coil.

Proud owner of an Engl Invader 2 :), and yes holy shit!
To talk about my signal chain... it’s enough to purchase a small house but I can do that so I did.
Where can I buy tabs? The patreon seems invalid.

have you tried the savage v2?

demisephil Ikea!
The clarity.
What tuning are you playing in? Just Drop C?
I think it’s open C
It's really big and thick, like a giant.. big....
compression to smooth to be coming from that amp!!!
You should yuse that guitar here more often. Just saying. ;)
Could honestly play some Disturbed through this and get a FAT sound
Your sound goes through a Lord of The Rings length journey before it comes to my ears lol
ahahaha comment of the fucking week!
Riffs so cool its snowing inside

Hey John, I know you like (or at least you've liked) the Laney stuff. Could you make a review of the irt 60 or 100?
Secondedededededed
Yes pls.
As far as i know Browne used to play an IRT Studio, i'd love to see a full review
Soo cheap 2nd hand..its a beast, better than some 3000€ amps
Jeez thats one expensive signal chain lol. Phenomenal playing man
a solo by browne? we've peaked, boys

Probably sponsored in the way that they sent the amp for him to give his opinion about it
“Lots of swearing.”
Sold.
...ummm...penile rails....wtf???.....I know..I know...he didn't say that....
Downpicking tutorial please.

Very cool John! My friend and I were talking about how wicked that riff is. I want to buy it as its own pack tho!
The fact that this module inspired him to music is a good sign.
Any chorus, delay or reverb?
Metal prog rhythm mayhem... 👍🤘

demo the black spirit 200 please =)

so cool, love you sound

And to be fair.....$400 is an illusion - in order to use their module you're going to have to spend WAY more than that.
