    The makita dual rapid charger is the best charger I’ve ever used out of all brands and I’ve used them all except for kobalt & hitachi. I purchased two of these saw kits at $175 each on clearance and i keep one with a rough cut blade and one with a finish blade. It’s so convenient to use this system.

    I just ordered one and I was shocked at the weight when I got it, 12 lbs is a hefty saw! I have cordless 18V makita saws that I will continue using but when I have a lot of heavy cutting to do in a day, I will surely bring out this beast. The saw looks amazing though, really robust and really useful. I also like that I can plug it into a vacuum to collect dust as well.

      Look for the vacuum dust round rubber plug rite in front of the top handle. I just got mine days ago, and the dust sawdust shooting out the way it does is annoying. Was looking at the box and noticed the thing about the vacuum dust shoot. It pulls out real easy. Will see in the morning if that helps with the saw dust issue. I ordered the Makita XSR01Z LXT 36V (18V X2) Cordless Rear Handle 7-1/4" Circular Saw. There is no Z anywhere on the saw. It was a tool only purchase. Don;t know what the Z is for yet.

    • @princenoah21

      @@ccdirecttvdllc5246 I don't know for sure, but I think the Z just means it comes as a bare tool.

      Iloveapplefritters You said makita 10amps vs dewalt 2 amps runtime? 65%- 200% more runtime on Makita?? Are you comparing a Makita x2 circular saw with 2 5.0s =10ah@18v to a Dewalt flexvolt circular saw with 1 6ah@20v (2ah@60v)???? The makita in this video is rated for 558(2x4)cuts using 2 5ah batteries. Whereas the dewalt Flexvolt dcs575 saw is rated 339(2x4) cuts using 1 6ah flexvolt battery(2ah@60v). If you take into consideration that 1 Flexvolt 6ah@20v/2ah@60v battery is 60% capacity of 2 5ah batteries=10ah@18v and take 60% of those 558 cuts you get 334.8 cuts on Makita vs 339 cuts on the Dewalt flexvolt saw using 1 6ah flex battery (2ah@60v) so your 65% -200% more runtime on the makita is not true. Yes I undertand not the same saws, but same general rule of thumb applies, 3x more volts= 3x less amps needed for the same task

    • @Angel-xh5pq
      @Angel-xh5pq 7 років тому +1

      Iloveapplefritters I don't care what color tools you like, I own DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita and many more brand tools. Everyone has their personal preference. I only commented because I'm tired of people commenting wrong specs about the Dewalt, and saying the typical "but at 60v its only an 2ah/3ah battery so run time sucks" when its obviously not the case

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  7 років тому +1

      Angel Roberts I just want to say that the Makita saw is 36 volt 5.0 Ah. Also, one sould look at how many P each battery is. DeWalt is one p and Makita is 2p at 36 volts. We also have a review of the DeWalt saw up.

      Makita batteries are one of the best quality batteries on the market. I have 4 which I have abused continuously for the last 2 years every workday (I'm a contract carpenter) and they have never failed. Tough casings that withstand dropping etc.. Longevity and with the fan assisted charger no overheating issues that can reduce a batteries life. Recommended.

      @alphaclean3364 5 років тому

      Makita batteries give about 5 years of use, charged once per day, so long as you don't bake them in an oven or drop them off a moving vehicle. If you use them less they will last longer. And even past their prime, they continue to work albeit with reduced runtime compared to new.

      say you work as two-man team to frame a section of a house, how many walls can you realistically frame per day? how much 2x material do you really need to cut? this saw can handle long rips for the riciulous amount of times, cutting 2x for framing is nothing. but I see your point. if there is a designated cutting guy cutting the whole day for multiple groups of framers, maybe it won't be enough, but from my experience with both the Milwaukee and this one, a fully charged saw last a whole day for a two-man team. and each team has a saw anyway, that is how we frame residential houses in the company i worked in, i think its quite efficient.
