Gunner is likely at my favorite age as a kid, dad has the greatest toys ever and is a huge hero to him. Life is just super cool and full of wonder and new experiences. No idea what a bill is, or a tax payment or any of the garbage that poisons a guys life. I hope he really enjoys himself going exploring with his dad. My dad and I went to equipment auctions exactly like you and Gunner, oddly enough I still own and use the tools we bought in the early early 70s sitting in my shop. Memories for sure.
Thank you for going to the Sales yard. I will speak on the ( JD-570-A ) grader. Hauled one for a paving company for a few years. My first load up I drove it on tilt trailer forward. BAD move on my BAD. The trailer fishtailing all the way down the Road. I put Diesel in the Hydraulic flud tank. But the thing about JD dozers & Graders of that time period. The ("T") Handle tilted control lever. In the Grader it control both sides of mold board. I bet when they came out. That control lever was so far ahead of its time. Cat and other brands had the TWO levera on each side of steering wheel. Did not run the grader to much, that was the owners job. I did get to run (450s) JD dozers. That T handle was so good 😊😊
Good morning gentlemen! Good to see father son time with both your boys. Not surprised on the purchases because you like projects and saving money. Thanks again!!!!!!!
That truck that you said they threw the paint at, here in Perth, the used car dealer term is, It's Had A Dulux Tune Up. Deluxe makes most of the auto paint here. The last G.M.Holden dealership I worked at, we had a "mint" HX Ute, sorry, pick up, until it went on the two poster hoist Pads sat on the jacking points okay, until the hoist was raised. Then a horrible cracking sound, as the body filler busted, then ever so many crushed steel beer cans came tumbling out. Before it was on the hoist, you couldn't tell it had filler by looking at it.
Wow. QA backing plates have gone up! Remember buying one for less than $100 just a few years ago. People go nuts at auctions. Thanks for the entertainment!
Mike, I loved the comment on the D7 living out it's life on a farm. I pass by a farm every day, they bought a Drott excavator a few years back, to dig the foundation for a new house. They used it for that project, then parked it by the hot house. The cab on it has a definite list to the left. Hasn't been run in probably 2 years, and I doubt if it ever will again. Happy New Years.
Yeah that customized case backhoe, looks like a hunting camp special to me. More that one in particular looks and probably runs much better than the one we had at our camp back in the day. Every function worked, at some point in time. Without needing to disconnect retention chains for out riggers or the boom. Sure the bucket had multiple cutting surfaces and extra reinforcement plates haphazardly welded on. Style points for originality. The ex-plow truck that might be a parts truck for some little bits. If the engine is goid then it wouldn't be absolutely terrible just for that if you were looking for a rebuildable core. Tires possible for a yard truck maybe. Rest if it just chop it up and melt it down. The power broom though. Those are items that look at first only useful in narrow situations. Then you use it, find out if you can hover it a few inches above your grass, fantastic at moving a lot of wet leaves. A bit lower gets heavy thatch out of grass. Pavement cleaning is always a thing. Little rocks, tiny bolts and junk on pavement, work out a deal with a paint and window glass shop. Drum up customers.
Love the comment about the smell of the one excavator. For me it was always BMW's that had a particular smell. I always wondered what it was. About 10 years ago I bought a used Hyundai Santa Fe that smelled the same.
Listen to your boy, DP. If the footprint's the same but that one goes 'higher' it's not the same size, lol. Thanks for a slice of your world over there across the pond. Happy new year to you all.
"I don't think you ride it. I think you just chase it around!" is the best description I've heard yet for all these walk-behinds. And also why I don’t care much for them.
I say you should go ahead and get him the tire then you can roll him down the hill and when he gets older he can look back on it and think to himself those were Goodyears
A grapple rake for a skid steer is way more useful than a regular rake. You’ll have to use it to understand the difference. Just make sure the teeth spacing is at least 7 inches.
Interesting video. I love going to the auctions especially agricultural and industrial machinery. I'm a massey ferguson nut and really like old mf industrial machinery. I have an mf 40 and 50 digger and an old mf400 crawler. A bit of an old tank but fun when I get it going.
Can’t wait for these future winter shop projects videos. I always enjoy these auctions videos with little Gunner. I still remember seeing last years action video around this same time with Gunner. Happy new year Mike!
only ran a d6 with a semi u blade building roads..... loved it and my boss and coworker/mentor claimed I was good. and I pushed snowbanks with a 450jd with 6-way blade. felt at home on both but looking at those rock sniffer kamatsus..... makes me wonder if they lack power like sidewalk sniffer Freightliner
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Great to see Gunner out with you looking at auction items. Looking forward to seeing where your purchase’s end up. Wishing you, your family and friends the best.
Shame about that WorkStar dump truck, those trucks are nice. That blue semi didn't look too bad and neither did that WhiteGMC. Between Diesel Creek, C&C and your auction videos I am so glad I don't live in the rust belt; dang near brings a tear to my eye to see so much equipment rusted away so soon.
we had a cat that was cable not hydraulic. someone tried to start it without using the pony motor, and it blew a hole in the block you could stick your head into. it was older than I am. my uncle could run that thing like he was cutting butter with a knife.
Very true on jcb I love the whole design of with door and everything else. Just they have a little gremlin on the electrical with the controls they need to prefect on. I will say I would trust the jcb over the Kabota that engine keeps blowing up 💁♂️ watch and follow a few farmers and a 100 hours done engine left the chat
The case backhoe had a knife blade master disconnect on the battery. We have the same exact one on our loader. It may not have been dead. But it was junk regardless.
I was just doing some ditch work on a local farmers D7G yesterday. New undercarriage on the one I was running yesterday but it needs some work in other areas.
When I worked with an excavation contractor in the 70's he only used a 955 Traxcavator. He dug a few basements and dug out a hillside for a garage for me and my dad.
Thanks Mike I been trying to talk myself out of an auction coming up this just did it my wife not going to be happy 😂😂😂😂 im going tell her you said it was okay 😅😅😅
Thanks for the insight - your thoughts and experience are invaluable for those of us who don't have a clue about machines - what a great video and different from your usual content. Good to know you are looking out for items for your friends. If I could just ask after the auctions, you could go through what you bought and what you were willing to pay for the items.
Hey MIke, nEXT time you come here, remember to BRING YOUR KEY CHAIN!! you know Mike since Gunner is taking such a interest in things, maybe would be a good idea to get him a small skid ster. congrats on the items that you bought and will be able to use, that clay pipe lift being one of them.
I love an equipment auction! You gotta a watch, there's a lot of lipstick on a pig! But, I've made some great deals, too! Looking forward to the videos with the purchases in them. Great video! Thanks: Mike, Gunner & MBTS! Lee
Mike, do you know when you think yall might be going to start back on Lieutenant Dan, just wondering? I’d love to see him back on the job with all wheels pulling the load! Just wondering? Thanks for sharing Mike and Gunner, y’all have a safe trip home guys! Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers and positive vibes for you and your family! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don't know what it went for, but I think that New Holland grader was probably a good opportunity for somebody who needs one that won't take a lot of effort and $$$ to put to work.
Listening to Gunner and Mike is like you are hearing DP and Jenna having their luke warm discussions ,in other words Gunner has his mums ways (sorry Jenna)glad Mike is steering Gunner in the right direction
Appears like a good auction.. except for the buckets.. Oh well.. The annual Florida auctions are coming... Though I will say, I saw quite a bit that might have interested your Friend in PA.. He loves the in-op..
Cat 225 Ds might be the best excavators ever built. Some came equipped with a 3-pump system turn up the pumps a bit they can be as fast as a new machine, no computers to fail. :)
Push both the forward and reverse pedal down at the same time and the drive pumps go too the boom for insane lifting power. Broke a few sticks on our old 235
Komtasu, God Bless You!! You said exhaust was 5hp, I was thinking it was worth 500 comments!
😂
I’m going back 😮
Love seeing a father & son spending time together like this. These are the times he will remember you by.
Gunner- "So I can dump Aaron out of it." 😂😂😂 I lost it. Poor MBTS can't catch a break.

Awesome seeing you take gunner to the sale. My boys love going with me and seeing all the iron.
Good morning all enjoy the show and have a gr😀😀😀rat day!!

Auction yards with a kid is always fun!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Mostly junk, but, father son time-- priceless, worth more than anything a person could have. Thanks for the tour sir, enjoyed it.
Gunner is becoming more educated about the industry and enjoys this time learning with Dad. And you found something - so that was a good visit.
It looks like everything needs a seat 💺
Have a great New Year 😊
The Mack with the rusty box...Those are lightening holes. The lighter the truck the more you can payload.
Looked like a great time with Gunner. Can't wait to see the new projects. Stay safe
Great to see father and son time. Poor man behind the scene will be looking up to Gunner in a few years.
Hate I missed that auction, I love buying stuff I don't need!!
Wow. QA backing plates have gone up! Remember buying one for less than $100 just a few years ago. People go nuts at auctions. Thanks for the entertainment!
Not only more expensive but probably thinner steel as well.
He climbed in that skid steer like he was a veteran.

Good morning sunshine! Love how Gunner enjoys the machines! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
Looking forward to that project, poor Gunner just make him some shoes so he can use the 850 and he'll be happy as larry. 🤣👍
Cant wait for the upcoming projects.
Gunner needs one of those little mini excavators. Go ahead and get him started. You’ll have gold fish ponds in the yard lol
Great tour with You and Gunter. This is something he'll never forget. God Bless You Alll.
Thank you DP!! Hope you, the Fam and the DP Fam have a Happy, Healthy and prosperous New Year!!!
Enjoyed seeing an old 225 cat excavator. That’s what I learned on. Wish I could find a refurbished one!
Yeah that customized case backhoe, looks like a hunting camp special to me. More that one in particular looks and probably runs much better than the one we had at our camp back in the day.

On that D series Deere, i’ll bet it’s the foam seats they use- as they outgas, it smell’s like roses, instead of sweaty(farty) operators! Lol
Can't wait for the projects. Happy things you wanted went for good prices.
Mike Gunner and Aaron great video! Thanks for sharing! Kevin

I love auctions , Thanks for letting us go with you .
Yup you are right, this is a scrap auction, we call them by the tonne auction because most things make less than their scrap value.
That forestry mulcher is a capn kleeman special !
Well Done. Got what you needed for a good price. That's all one can ask for at an auction.
I say you should go ahead and get him the tire then you can roll him down the hill and when he gets older he can look back on it and think to himself those were Goodyears
So typical of auctions...lots of junk, a few good pieces but if you don't know your equipment you will get burned. Thanks for the tour Mike & Gunner.
A Dirt Perfect "Diamond in the Rough" would qualify as a Kleeman "New Old Stock"....lol.
A grapple rake for a skid steer is way more useful than a regular rake. You’ll have to use it to understand the difference. Just make sure the teeth spacing is at least 7 inches.
Gunner is pretty smart dad, he’s learning a lot!
The diamond in the rough backhoe has kind of a Captain Kleeman thing going on!
Thanks for taking us with you guys.
Nice field trip with Gunner!
Good seeing Aaron!😊
Thanks for sharing 👍
Gunner.

Outstanding that you give your employees this week off PAID. Merry Christmas. Wishing you all the best in the year to come.

That salt truck was held together by a wish & dreams it made a sale !
Link Belt is Sumitomo America Company. Case 13t + are rebranded sumitomo machines
Auction stuff is always fun great video thanks Mike and Aron ànd Gunnar
Howdy Mr. Dirt, "Future projects" ??? There goes the neighborhood!! :) Thumbs up! Stay dry! Jim
End of the year video by Chris let's dig 18 u will love it
That rotator dump Terex would be perfect for delivering rip-rap to pond dam over flows and spill ways.
You and Aron have to think out a way to make the pedals on a dozer so that Gunner can start driving one. He is really in the mood for that.
gunner might be taller lol
Easy build up the soles of gunners boots so he's taller
Weld pedals up the turning stick and a seat back cushion
You mean excavator, a dozer uses a joystick to move around an excavator uses pedals to move around
@@jacksonpruitt7729 pedals controls tracks, sticks controls forward and reverse gears and blade on dozer from what I seen
I was yelling at the screen when you were looking at the little grader. " The starter is missing!!!". But for some reason you didn't hear me. Haha
You can get a Cat D10 with adjustable pedals...!😀😀
These auctions make for great viewing bro especially when you have a "lets buy this" with you bro. Safe travels Ken.
More rainy day projects. Now let's see if they put Lt. Dan further behind on the back burner. 😁😁

The case backhoe had a knife blade master disconnect on the battery. We have the same exact one on our loader. It may not have been dead. But it was junk regardless.
On the d7, the old d6 my step-dad bought for the farm has a battery switch on the right side next to the seat.
You can plainly see the disconnect switch is open on the negative battery terminal. It’s right beside his right leg when seated.
Thank you have good week.

Looks like couple projects in the making looking forward to what may be wet cold day paid off 👍👋🇨🇦
All those things you are saying no to, Matt from diesel creek would be excited for. Matt loves the ones that are one step from the scrap pile.
@ 12:25
That’s the type of backhoe I’ve operated.
3 sticks and foot pedals.
37:11 I’m glad I’m not the only one who has noticed that😂
Yup. Junk sale. Good opportunity to pick up some spare parts or a few things intended for very limited use.
Thanks for the video, I usually learn something and always enjoy watching!
50:00 watched good one
Mmmmm Auction Days are always interesting, Can't wait to see what the project is. Have a good Day Sir.

That Grove crane is for rough terrain but it only lofts 30,000lbs
Near the end after you made your last purchase you were talking to Aaron you were talking with your hands ,I was saying look what you just bought .
He wasn't arguing he was just making sure your dimensions were the same.😮

39:42 I'm kind of impressed they managed to mount a new airbag to that rusty mess of a frame.
Agreed
the only good thing in the lot is the time you got to spend with Gunner...........the old 6T is one of my favorites of all time, hi-wheels are great
Don't know what it went for, but I think that New Holland grader was probably a good opportunity for somebody who needs one that won't take a lot of effort and $$$ to put to work.
