My days of spending $150-$200+ for one cologne are done. Fragrances are a dangerous game. When you cant enjoy what you already have it’s easy to fall into a rabbit hole of constantly wanting new stuff. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve told myself “once I buy this one my collection is complete!” Only to get bored of it a week later and I start looking for something else
I'm still fairly new and want to get Xerjoff Naxos. In about 1& 1/2 years I've picked up around 60 fragrances. It's could definitely get out of hand but I always go overboard
you gotta be smart about it. i look at it like having money in the bank. let me explain. i hold money in th bank and hold money in fragrance value. so example, if you get a good deal on grey market sites like ebay and buy it secondhand, then you can get one for fair market value (or below) and then 1-3 years later you can re sell it for almost the same price you bought it for. thats what ive been doing since 2018. some i even profited from after i used the crap out of it too. i think i only bought 1 or 2 for retail price when i was new..
I feel you on that one. I’ve stopped this addiction after I hit 100+ bottles in my collection. I realized that money I spent on these fragrances I could invest in my retirement or spent on memorable vacations.
Burberry Touch was also my signature scent. Picked it up from Bloomingdales when it first came out. I used what it was left a few months ago. Also been rocking a Naxos decant. Loved it so much that I pulled the plug and bought the full bottle. Everytime I get a whiff of it it puts a smile in my achy breaky heart😂😂
Individuel by montblanc is a great scent. I wore a whole bottle a few years ago. It’s similar to Royal Santa by Creed. Jean Lowe Immortal. Man, I had it but there was a note that didn’t work on me. I feel it was like oak-moss or very early Vetiver. I was lucky to find the LV L’Immensite for a great price. Great video. I like it. Burberry touch. I owned like 7-8 years ago. Great scent too. No music? I miss the song My weekly rotation. Monday: Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Prive Tuesday: Megalium by Carner Barcelona Wednesday: Tabac Nomad by Houbigant Thursday: Dior Homme Original (not the 2020 version) Friday: Dior Fahrenheit Le Parfum Saturday: Rosendo Mateu No.7 Sunday: Spicebomb Extreme
@@gerardgeorgeRosendo Mateu No.5 has a pretty darn good clone: Domino 05 Essence by Maison Alhambra. RM7 is my new addition. It’s a classic type of scent. Patchouli, Oud, and Vanilla. Very masculine, grown up (not old) scent. It’s fantastic. Fragrantica voted M7 by YSL as a similar scent. The Perfume Guy has a video of it.
Encre Noire Sport is a godsend for me. Im a massive fan of foresty smells, and the original EN is exactly that. However, I find it a bit too edgy to actually wear comfortably. The sport version adds just the right amount of watery grapefruit to make it more wearable. An added bonus is that nobody is really wearing anything like it these days.
I really need to wear Individuel and Touch more this Spring - they’re both great! My weekly rotation: Sunday-BDC EDP Monday-Spicebomb Infrared EDT Tuesday-Narcisco Rodriguez Bleu Noir Parfum Wednesday-Brioni EDP Intense Thursday (day)-OG Armani Code (night)-Gentleman Reserve Privee Friday-Cartier L’Envol EDT Saturday-Platinum Egoiste
@@gerardgeorge Yes, a very unique, honey dominant scent. I went the EDT over the EDP because I wanted something a little fresher. I really like it, but may not be blind buy worthy for everyone.
On a minor tangent: making tiramisu is insanely easy. The stuff at Modern is great (Mikes I’m not a huge fan of their tiramisu) but homemade is so easy. Hope you’re feeling better and watch out for the snow tomorrow. They can’t stop saying how bad it’ll be! 😂
Alot of great recommendations, g!! Individuel is a stunner for me. Cant smell any cleaner. And lasts all day. Stay safe with this weather moving in buddy. Take care
Been Wearing Cerruti 1881 in the daytime, and Jaipur Homme EDP at night. I have a feeling you would highly appreciate the work of art that is the latter scent.
I also have the performance issues, but for an intimate frag it's wonderful. I'd say solid date night frag as it's not over powering and is quite warm and inviting. Classy as well. Good snuggle fragrance, my lady does approve@@gerardgeorge
Hey Gerard. Nice choices. Thanks for mentioning Mike's Pastry. Now I want the cannolis and some fig cookies. LOL. Anyway, last week was the following: Paco R. Maison Alhambra Jean Lowe Immortal is good for the day but the Jean Lowe Matiere is even better. It's a rose-incense profile. It's more mysterious and good for evenings.
I agree with you, even though it was panned when it first came out, and probably still is for the most part… Probably because of Jeremy… I still really very much enjoy Nautica Voyage. I love the aquatic, cucumber smell. Also, really like the fact that they’re basically giving it away for free. Think I paid $25 here in Canada.
I want me some Tiramisu right now lol. I love Nautica Voyage. It really is its own thing. Very ocean like vibe. Montblanc individuel is pretty good imo but... I had a lot of female colleagues telling me they don't like the smell. Mind you, they are young, in their 20s, so they might not like how mature it is. Have you ever tried Paris Hilton for Men? I could go for some myself Martin! I agree with you it can come across as mature at this point especially to young girls who are used to the bubble gum fragrances these days. I haven't tried that Paris Hilton yet does it have a name?
I grab for Nautica voyage quite often but always put it back down. And most times grab Nautica voyage n83 instead. I rock the heck out of mont blanc individuel a lot at night.i wear burberry touch to work very often
Nautica Voyage is classic. Spring & summertime it just does it. Midnight Voyage is a good one too if you would be into Voyage with a touch of Sauvage. Good evening, date night fragrance.
