This whole story has a lot more to it, i'll try to list it all - Kluivert has 2 asst. managers with him (Pastoor and Landzaat), Pastoor is a very well regarded coach in the Netherlands. It is highly likely, like you already said, that Kluivert is the face to the outside and Pastoor is more on tactical level. - Kluivert was asst. manager of Cameroon because Seedorf was their head coach. - Kluivert left the Turkish club because they were very behind in their payments. He was actually doing well at the club. - Indonesian national team didn't do well at the regional tournament because they couldn't use the diaspora Indonesians, who are subjectively their best players. - Indonesia has a big diaspora in the Netherlands, so getting Kluivert + staff there isn't that weird if you think about it. Maybe I forgot more things Oh yeh, Louis van Gaal was also involved/asked for some kind of role. But apparently he declined or will just be an advisor... but nothing confirmed so far.
One of the reasons Kluivert was chosen was because the Indonesian FA held interviews during Christmas (when other, possibly more qualified coaches would rather enjoy their holidays) and he was the only person desperate enough to attend. That apparently held so much more meaning than the coach's accolades and/or qualifications to the FA, and so he was appointed. Absolute tomfoolery.
Thanks to JINXwell's Indonesian national team history video, his jinx proven once more to doom our national team into the depths of the shithole football realm.. at least now the Netherlands will have their B team formed and represented somewhere in Asia
There is quite a funny thing why erick thohir pointed kluivert as the New coach. Kluivert bassically the only one that showed up from 3 candidates. Why only him? Well that's because thohir made the interview on december 25th. He's see it as like kluivert got that commitment because he showed up when it's supposed to be a holiday or sacred day(if you celebrate chrismast as a catholic or protestan etc). I'm not making this up, you could see the pers conference @PSSI TV
shin tae yong is a pretty beloved figure in indonesia period. he is a pretty hard headed person which lead to some argument to some of the player. did most of the player hate him? no, most of em still very much want to be coach by him. the firing of sty can pretty much lower the engagement of the fan and the player to do their best for indonesian team. erick thohir is pretty infamous for using football for his political power. he was promise before to become a vice president candidate in prior election (and some political shit happen, soo his not the candidate) and he use football to for his campaign. as sty a very hard headed person, its very hard for erick to stir sty to make him get more favorability from football fan. as for kluivert itself, i cannot see him as an upgrade compare to sty. his advantage is the language barrier cause sty can only speak korean and kluiver can speak dutch and english. as most indonesian player is dutch, speaking dutch presummably can give better comunication. but a fan account of caracao national team metioned that he dont have a single clue about tactic. the player seem confuse on the pitch and dont know what to do. and there is also a question about his work ethic and leadership because he got trap in pretty massive debt for gambling.
Former manager Shin Tae-yong is best known for leading South Korea in the 2018 World Cup, knocking Germany out of the group stage, and is a manager who has won the Asian Champions League in 2010 He even led the Indonesian national team to eliminate South Korea from the Olympic qualifiers last year Is Kluivert a manager with this level of experience and ability? well good luck to Indonesia
This channel is probably one of the best football channels out there and it's a huge shame that it is not well known. This man deserves millions of views, not 10k.
This reminds me of like whenever Birmingham City were in touching distance of the Premiership they would fire their managers and replace them with Gianfranco Zola and Wayne Rooney specifically so that they could go to League One.
Colonialism and stuff like that, at the core it was Indonesia, was just run by some Dutchies and probably got participated by Dutch rather than actual Indonesian's, but then again am not Alfie and know a deep dive into interwar football and the WC for e.g. But it was still Indonesia in some aspects, so yeaaaa Since Independence? no Overall? yes
and my comment still proven true lol EDIT; damn z for someone who only guessing based on the news and wiki, you almost nailed every conflict that happeningg behind the close door. nice analysis!
"football has made it's way there". Zealand my dude, Indonesia literally is the most populated country in the world where football is the most popular sport... They were viciously colonised by the Dutch. So indonesia have been playing football for over a hundred years afaik. Edit: Also theyve recently gotten a bunch of dutch born, dutch league, players with Indonesian heritage to play for their national team. So having a manager who speaks dutch may be important. I think the "we need someone who can speak to the players" is meant quite literally lol. Also he was ange postecoglu's assistant while at brisbane, so he must be decent too.
Our FA president choose Kluivert because he's the only one who comes for the interview. And the the interview on 25 December/ Christmas day. What a joke. A lot of Indonesian fans was angry about this.
Some journalist said that the main problem is that there is some sort of conflict between the coach and the European player in the changing room that happened after bahrain match that leads to the absurd line up against china, and yeah thats why the federation taking a Netherlands coach to accommodate the culture of the player, but idk why kluivert was chosen. At keast they hired alex pastoor as the brain.
It's clear they signed him as the face for the management staff. Tactic and coaching will probably handled by the assistant. Like how Shin Tae Yong itself said how he was behind South Korea performance in 2015 Asia Cup instead of the head coach. If Kluivert is the one who in charge of tactic, well it's GG by looking at his records.
His assistant will be Alex Pastoor. He has managed some teams in the Dutch and Austrian topflight and usually got good results by finishing in respectable places with teams that normally fight relegation. He's an experienced coach and pundit and will probably manage training and tactics most of the time.
The indonesian squad actually has a bunch of people on it with dual dutch/ indonesian citizenship as well as players from the dutch league so kluivert might not be the most random choice ever.
You mentioned Roy Keane in Ferencvaros and I immediately thought about Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb who have appointed Gattuso and Cannavaro respectively so you would think they would be dominant... oh well Rijeka is first with no shenanigans menager and are having best season since 2016 when they last won it and this year might be better
We need links with European clubs to help pick up and develop local talent, not the Dutch C team and C level Dutch coaches for the national team. (Though as an Irish expat, it does tickle me that we have Irish blood in the national team - hope my son can continue the tradition!)
fire your coaching in a fight for auto qualifying to world cup is crazy imagine playing FM and everton fires their coach who despite starting with minus points and has them close to europe
i mean, you know that there are a ton of ties between the dutch and the indonesians, right? like, at any point in time, a good chunk of the dutch national team have indonesian blood, as far as i can tell.
Similar to curacao there are a lot of players born in the Netherlands eligible to play for their national team. Indonesia got independance from the netherlands in 1949. Theres a large population in the netherlands with indonesian heritage. Some of them play football on eredivisie level and are eligible to play for the indonesian national team. Recently more and more dutch born players have started playing for indonesia, similar as with curacao. So now they got the coach who leveled up the curacao national team with dutch players, to do the same in indonesia.
So the dutch have kicked out the Koreans. When I was living in Jakarta in 1997, the Germans were in the process of kicking out the Italians. The merry go round continues...
some stupid people think that aff is more important than qualifying for the world cup, it's like we are already at a high level but some fans want to return to aff level, that's what makes me confused as an Indonesian
The was the Indonesian fans turned on Shin Taeyong and PSSI fired him is so disrespectful. Idiocy for providing him so much power from youth to senior team and so many naturalized players but not give patience and throw it all away when they don't work out on the first try.
you gonna ignooor Alex Pastoor? He will most likely do the most work, he has had moderate succes with pretty shit teams in the Eredivisie, and Kluivert is known to be a pretty shit head coach. I think Kluivert will just be the parrot of Pastoor, but maybe I'm wrong.
What has looks got to do with anything? I don't like the naturalisation program but its guaranteed to happen as its cheap and getting rid of corruption and developing football domestically is very expensive.
We need Maqwell to make a video lambasting the appointment so Kluivert magically turns into a world class manager and somehow brings us through
hes probably making it right now as we speak lol
This whole story has a lot more to it, i'll try to list it all

Oh yeh, Louis van Gaal was also involved/asked for some kind of role. But apparently he declined or will just be an advisor... but nothing confirmed so far.
That same Turkish club you're talking about are now rock bottom in Süper Lig.
Not that well tbh, 8 wins 6 draws and 6 losses
You forgot to mention that Indonesia was a dutch colony until 1949. So there will still be some connections between those countys I guess
@@fistofren3483 Yes, that's where the diaspora players from NL are coming from. Some quality to inject into the Indonesian team!
Van Gaal is rumored to be the FA's technical director, but nothing is confirmed yet as the Indonesian FA will only meet with Van Gaal in February
One of the reasons Kluivert was chosen was because the Indonesian FA held interviews during Christmas (when other, possibly more qualified coaches would rather enjoy their holidays) and he was the only person desperate enough to attend.

Nah, the Indonesian FA (PSSI) should have appointed Ichsan Taufiq aka the FM World Cup champion as Team Garuda's coach.
This channel is probably one of the best football channels out there and it's a huge shame that it is not well known. This man deserves millions of views, not 10k.
As a Plymouth fan i can very much say Rooney did not find his feet again 😂
I hope it was intentional by him cause it was hilarious if it was 😂😂
Imagine if Indonesia qualifies for the World Cup and they play Poland?
The flags, man. They will confuse people who is who.
Same with chad and romania 😂😂😂they have the same flag
Or people finally learn by exposure? 😂
It's a good thing Monaco doesn't have a national team then
@@dasadman that would be hell to people that had bad TV since the only difference is the flag saturation lol
This reminds me of like whenever Birmingham City were in touching distance of the Premiership they would fire their managers and replace them with Gianfranco Zola and Wayne Rooney specifically so that they could go to League One.
Tell em bud.
Indonesia was the first Asian team ever to qualify for the world cup in 1938 (as Dutch East Indies)
I dont think that counts
Colonialism and stuff like that, at the core it was Indonesia, was just run by some Dutchies and probably got participated by Dutch rather than actual Indonesian's, but then again am not Alfie and know a deep dive into interwar football and the WC for e.g.

Overall? yes
Ya but they didn’t have to qualify for that one
The Dutch East Indies is not Indonesia.
Mostly dutch players
and Indonesian still won't claim they're Dutch FA 💀
Bring maqwell in for his expertise in the aff championship
As an Indonesian this is random as hell man wtf LOLLL😭😭😭
and my comment still proven true lol EDIT; damn z for someone who only guessing based on the news and wiki, you almost nailed every conflict that happeningg behind the close door. nice analysis!
0:07 Maqwell has entered the chat
Seems like a decent hire tbh , also Rooney most definitely hasn't found his feet,, he got binned a week ago by Plymouth after 11 games without a win
Yooo I was letting UA-cam keep rolling Z vids and then I tune into a brand new vid? Jackpot time
Yes the Indonesians love it when a Dutch guy is in charge.
"football has made it's way there". Zealand my dude, Indonesia literally is the most populated country in the world where football is the most popular sport...

Damn I’m sat here like “oh wow kluivert coached here in Australia” just to google and learn it was a two week stint
Wayne Rooney comment was actually hilarious 😂😂😂
Some journalist said that the main problem is that there is some sort of conflict between the coach and the European player in the changing room that happened after bahrain match that leads to the absurd line up against china, and yeah thats why the federation taking a Netherlands coach to accommodate the culture of the player, but idk why kluivert was chosen. They're not gonna qualify this, then kick Kluivert, Erik's losing his posistion as the head of PSSI.
Don’t worry Zealand no competitors forehead could pull me away from your bants
WRONG!! Michael Talks Football covered this 2 days ago
Indonesia reached the World Cup once before. They were called the Dutch East Indies at the time, but it was them.
It's clear they signed him as the face for the management staff. Tactic and coaching will probably handled by the assistant. Like how Shin Tae Yong itself said how he was behind South Korea performance in 2015 Asia Cup instead of the head coach. Erick said onr of the reason is because Patrick is the only one who willing to meet at Christmas
We all know the 'C' in group C stands for Chaos.
This is actually big. Indonesians love their football. They deserve some success.
The indonesian squad actually has a bunch of people on it with dual dutch/ indonesian citizenship as well as players from the dutch league so kluivert might not be the most random choice ever.
Welcome to ASEAN, where random things happen in football
Lol was this recorded before Rooney was sacked as Plymouth manager? Because that is not what I would call "finding his feet again" in management
I’m Australian and I’m going to watch Aus play Indonesia in the qualifiers in March. Praying we can make it through again 🙏🙏
As a Dutch man with Indonesian heritage, Kluivert is a very average coach. I'm not very excited about this hire.
Bros tijani reijnders
but they manage to bring out Pastoor and Landzaat. Do you have any opinions about that?
Pastoor is a decent tactician who performed above expectation with Almere City. Denny Landzaat has only been assistant. He is part Indonesian though
*I thought the most random hire/most comical hire was the Vinceant Kompany hire*
Bruh Indonesia played in a wc as the dutch east indies
wow huuuuuuge shot at maqwell in minute 1
I think Indonesia was in a world cup as the dutch east indies in 1938 or something like that.
doesn't count
You mentioned Roy Keane in Ferencvaros and I immediately thought about Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb who have appointed Gattuso and Cannavaro respectively so you would think they would be dominant... oh well Rijeka is first with no shenanigans menager and are having best season since 2016 when they last won it and this year might be better
Technically Indonesia has been to the World Cup before as Dutch East Indies in 1938, as Asia's first ever participants. But I get what you mean Z! 🇮🇩
Maqwellism
We need links with European clubs to help pick up and develop local talent, not the Dutch C team and C level Dutch coaches for the national team. (Though as an Irish expat, it does tickle me that we have Irish blood in the national team - hope my son can continue the tradition!)
0:10 nope you're not hahah
MAQWELL COLLAB NEEDED
You could say Indonesian FA has that VOC-mentality😝
I would be happier if deserving coaches who were not world class players could as easily get a chance to manage
fire your coaching in a fight for auto qualifying to world cup is crazy

Zealand, we speak English here in Australia
Indonesia played at the 1938 wc as Dutch East Indies (lost 6-0 to Hungary)
i mean, you know that there are a ton of ties between the dutch and the indonesians, right? like, at any point in time, a good chunk of the dutch national team have indonesian blood, as far as i can tell.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN ROONEY IS FINDING HIS FLAME AGAIN
It was genius comedy 😂😂

Yes but having a dutch Legend as Manager might also help them in recruiting dutch Indonesia dual nats
So you got the england job?
Even though I'm a fan of his Kluivert was a B-Class Dutch Striker.
He played for barca, had the same goal to game ratio as van persie for club and country
This is when you should have had a less click bait title and included the word Indonesia in the title. You would have 10x the views by now
Just you and maq😅 ❤
So the dutch have kicked out the Koreans. When I was living in Jakarta in 1997, the Germans were in the process of kicking out the Italians. The merry go round continues...
Pssi is get possesed by a demon name Towel
A TOWEL did this???
@naga5707 yes He did
