      Defensive players react to the ball. Period. The can see it on tape, but they'll still fall for it in real time. And if they don't, the Lions will have made them passive and hesitant.

      They will never run it again but it was a great time to run it because it was the thing that put the game away. A field goal there on their only up 13. Going up 17 is huge it's a three possession difference which is astronomical in the NFL

    Honestly guys Ben Johnson is playing 3D chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Ben said they have an endless supply of trick plays at their disposal. Doing that play against the Bears was intentional. They run plays to put on tape to set up game plans for their future opponents.

    considering that 85% of ESPN talking heads are ex-players and coaches, it's not surprising they love giving away the fans' money. EPSN has never said, don't pay that guy cause it's not their money.     The thing that makes trick plays work is the time it takes to develop them. The O-line blocking.
    Watch another team try this and it gets blown up because their O-line can't block perfectly.

    Ben is to good of a man to leave the lion franchise which he helped build to leave us and coach the bears. I've been saying this since day 1, Ben isn't leaving until he makes a super bowl appearance! Way to smart to leave a team that is on the brink to start back at the beginning all for a few more mill especially when we'll make him the highest paid OC in the league

      Ben has said he won't go to a place just to get fired in a year or 2. And that's who is hiring coaches.. bad teams. I think he stays in Detroit til the right thing comes around( like a coach retiring from a winning team. Why leave a good thing, just to be looking for a job again in a few years? Detroit will pay him accordingly ( lets hope I am right)

      Maybe, fingers crossed, Ben's a young guy, married, young kids and is a complete rockstar in Detroit. He doesn't need to work 120 hours a week and sacrifice his family life to make solid bank AND be loved and respected. Besides, Michigan has it all - good summers (boating, fishing, water sports), fantastic fall weather with spectacular leaf changes and winter (skiing, sledding, ice skating). Maybe, just maybe, dude will stay!

    Chicago's got the Quarterback? Huh? DETROIT'S got the Quarterback. And the two receivers (Sun God and Jamo), and the two running backs (Sonic and Knuckles), the TEs (Laporta and Wright) and the O_LINE for God Sakes! Johnson can be having fun for the next 4-5 years winning Super Bowls with Detroit. Why leave? Why not stay and put big-ass rings on most of your fingers?
