It’s not her favorite type of genre, action is one of her least favorites. That’s why the series is trying to turn her into a shonen anime fan. She’s loved death note, to your eternity, promised neverland (season 1), had fun with prison school. So this is her first shonen type of anime. Time will tell if she either falls in love with it or not 🤷🏽♂️
THIS fight straight Up made me a fan of the show (i was a kid at That time) It was like i Joined the Naruto world because of this showdown. So It holds a special place in my heart for sure.

When ever I come back to watch this fight. It only reminded me on how hard Kishi fumbled Lee's character in shippuden. Im always greatful to the animators that produced this legendary unforgettable moment, but seeing how he was written to be in shippuden just feels like the biggest disrespect to this moment.

Sand armor + plot armor. Gaara should’ve been torn to pieces. His sand armor was already taking a beating without Lee even using the gates, doesn’t make sense.

Also, 'plot armor' is another stupid thing, literally everything that happens in the story only happens because that's what Kishimoto wrote down, it's literally ALL 'plot armor', this can be said of any story. Saying a fictional character ONLY beat another fictional character because of 'plot armor' is such a ridiculously stupid statement I really don't even know what to say. The characters aren't real and at any point if the author decides it's time for a new power to be asspulled out of nowhere, that's the new reality.
And Gaara didn't die here because he's literally in another universe from Rock Lee, it's kind of hard to 'kill' someone you can't land a single hit on, it's beyond stupid when people say things like this

Baki is Gaara and his 2 siblings Sensei so Baki would’ve been the one to step in and call the fight and she’s right if he really wanted to he could’ve intervened just as Gai Sensei did for Lee, their Sensei’s are strong and wise they’ve been around and know how to counteract their moves so Baki definitely could’ve stopped the fight to “Save” Gaara obviously Gaara had it under control til the end since he won but just saying she wasn’t wrong their Sensei’s can intervene and forfeit the match

They _do_ say similar things but conveys an completely difference feeling and message.
In the original script the actually DO declare that Rock Lee *_is_* in fact a genius.
They changed the line to "you have the gift of hard work", the original line is "You are a genius of effort".
Means basically the same thing but this literally left you with the impression that he WASNT considered a genius when the exact opposite is what actually happened.
Gai also didnt tell Lee "I know what I said, but this is an exception".
He said "I know what I said, but I dont care, I will allow it"
Again, means more or less the same thing but gives of completely different vibes.
One indicate that there are exceptions to the rules.
The other says "screw the rules, take this fakker down" giving off a way more tension.
In Episode 11 (I think) when Zabusa is intimidating Naruto and Sasuke he says something like:
"When I was your age, I had defeated many enemies"
The original line was:

They actually do say he's a genius in the dub it's just that this is edited and they cut that part out. The VA's in the dub are very good and I personally will never watch this subbed ever because imo the dub is that superior.

Man they did wrong with lee i can understand he lost to gara in the og but atleast he could have become stronger till the time in shippuden but they didn't focus on this character also he could have developed a different style like when he is drunk and tried to develop that , objectively even if he couldn't grow stronger than naruto or sasuke but atleast he should have gotten stronger than sakura and gara in the fourth great ninja war arc but still weaker than guy who nearly matched the type of legends like madara and hashirama in his death . Rock Lee is my top 4 favorite character in naruto .
