Wow, just seventeen and the world is literally at her doorstep holding their breath with avid anticipation! Jackie has paid her dues, every step of the way to being quite probably the most heralded singer in the world! And justly so. I consider being able to hear her voice as one of the greatest gifts of my life voyage! Jackie is not only amazing...she is genuinely a very nice person! Every single note, every single song just blows me away!
I first heard about her on AGT...And I wondered how her life might pan out ( Even at the ripe age of 17 ) ...I so hoped that she'd be happy - We'll never know, I believe that she IS, and that the world would see her as more than just a Contestant. I was stationed at Coligny Caserne in Orleans, France which in those days(1962-1965) was USAREUR HQ in Europe. Lots and lots of top brass and beautiful WACS lol.
Everett Cox I was in 814 Engineer Company(Floating Bridge), from 3/60-12/62. My M.O.S. was Bridge Specialist. We had over 100 vehicles in our company. Pioneer Kaserne, where I was stationed, is closed. I was able to trace my old company to Fort Polk, La. I had a pretty good time , in Germany, but was glad to get back to "The World" and civilian life.

Sharon Osbourne had it right on the money when right after Jackie's 2nd performance on AGT she said that Jackie's voice would take her all over the world and her life would never be the same. She was practicing the final high note in the crescendo she did later that evening in the duet with Fernando Varela singing the 'A Thousand Years'. I'm not musically trained , but it sounds close to the B5 note she does in Nessun Dorma now. Someone more musically inclined may be able to say what it is. For me it made that duet one of her best.
Michael Grimm is doing quite well actually. Last I heard he was still singing in Vegas. He sort of took Jackie "under his wing" on AGT. Like everyone else, he was astounded that a child that young had a voice like that. If you remember the consternation on his face when he learned he was the "winner"(he really wasn't, Jackie got 5M more votes), you could tell he had no idea that was coming. He came through on his promise to buy his grandparents another house so he's the kind of person Jackie is very happy to call a friend.
You can still find some YT videos of Jackie singing when she was 8 or 9. I was able to see her in concert at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA a couple of years ago. She does not disappoint.

Ob es je mal möglich ist, das Jackie ein Konzert in Deutschland gibt? Es könnte ja auch eine Europatour sein, ich würde auf jeden Fall folgen, aber Amerika ist mir zu weit.

Sharon Osbourne had it right on the money when right after Jackie's 2nd performance on AGT she said that Jackie's voice would take her all over the world and her life would never be the same. Oh and one other thing, she needs to stop filling out and looking so damn lady like. I'm not ready for that yet.

I hope this world never changes who you are because to me you are so very special .When you got those high notes so naturally there is noone that can compare to you . You bring tears to my eyes . Also you are so beautiful and your beautiful soul shines through . To me you are truly an angel and the world needs more angels that's for sure ! X

Jackie proved herself a model of courage and determination, a young woman of principle who would not be intimidated. Despite the nightmarish experience she fulfilled a promise she made to honor her country with dignity and grace.
Nobody tells the story of or pays tribute to the magical Jacqueline Marie Evancho like the lads of "Jackie for Germany". The most beautiful voice in the history of recorded music, a beauty for the Ages.

That high note at the beginning, WOW!
She was practicing the final high note in the crescendo she did later that evening in the duet with Fernando Varela singing the 'A Thousand Years'. I'm not musically trained , but it sounds close to the B5 note she does in Nessun Dorma now. Someone more musically inclined may be able to say what it is. For me it made that duet one of her best.
Look at what that little 10 year old on America's Got Talent has become. Does anyone even remember the guy who actually won that year?
Michael Grimm is doing quite well actually. Last I heard he was still singing in Vegas. He sort of took Jackie "under his wing" on AGT. Like everyone else, he was astounded that a child that young had a voice like that.
If you remember the consternation on his face when he learned he was the "winner"(he really wasn't, Jackie got 5M more votes), you could tell he had no idea that was coming.
He came through on his promise to buy his grandparents another house so he's the kind of person Jackie is very happy to call a friend.
You can still find some YT videos of Jackie singing when she was 8 or 9. I was able to see her in concert at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA a couple of years ago. She does not disappoint.

Ich warte schon seit Jahren! Wäre eine tolle Sache so ein Konzert hier in Germany...
Europa wär ja auch schon was, wenn man vorher von weiß und Karten bekommen kann. War ja mal ein kurzes Italienziel bei Andrea Bocelli, jedoch kleiner Kreis und wenig Titel selbst. Aber die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt.
