I watched Michigan lose to TCU in the Semi-finals with my dad last year. A month later he passed away from cancer. My dad LOVED the Michigan Wolverines. If only he could have lived to see them win it all 🥲. They did it dad!! Go Blue!
Same story here , my dad passed away from Cancer last year just before that TCU game. , I gladly to report the result he has been waiting for this year. Thank you Wolverines , you guys finally did it.
JJ McCarthy is the epitome of the Bo Schembechler motto The Team, The Team, The Team. Best team quarterback I have ever seen. He did what he was asked of and believed in his teammates to win.
Congrats to Michigan... from an Ohio State fan. The way that Ohio State played last year against Georgia... And the way that Michigan played against Alabama and Washington will have an immense effect on Big Ten Recruiting for the next few years. The B1G is legit...!!!
The BIG Ten will be insane. Both the teams in the natty are in the Big ten along with Oregon, USC, and UCLA. It's gonna be nuts. Glad Michigan won the BIG Ten the last three years cause it's gonna be tuff to win it.
UGA in a hypothetical spread still was favored over both teams in Natty. I am a Tulsa fan so I don’t care at all but just speaks volume on what people think.
don't forget the West Coast teams coming in i'm annoyed at all the realignment but regardless it happened. Welcome aboard USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington
Nah, this one is all UMs. The conference and all the little snitches don't get any share in this one. The big ten is entitled to nothing, UM won this in spite of them hence they get no credit in any way, shape, or form.
My brother was coming down from Dallas to watch the game at my house cuz I had rotator cuff surgery and couldn't drive. He calls me the night before to tell me he bought tickets for us and he'll pick up at 230. What a feeling to be there for that especially when you are planning to watch from home. GO blue
Congrats...you guys got a helluva good team! Would've loved to have watched Mich and UGA! That's the dream game this year IMO! Tide fan but we should've lost in sec champ game
@jugghead-1975 maybe but you didn't. I was more worried about Bama. I had to put my sling back on after Milroes fumble cuz I tried to raise both arms in excitement lol. I've always hated Saban and now I know it was simply jealousy of what he accomplishes every year
@@whatreallymatters1409 That's most of the nation that doesn't live in Alabama! He's commander in chief inside state lines! Rising to Bear Bryant status! Never thought I'd live to see that...RTR!
Michigan sent a powerful message to college: treat your 3 and 4 star players like 5 stars, coach them hard, and develop their bodies, then they’ll want to stay and accomplish something special
I have never been a big Michigan fan living down in ACC country, but I have to completely tip my hat to them. What a complete team they had this year as they completely slammed the door on all other teams, well done! I also want to thank Klatt for his accurate and well-done break downs of these teams as I could always understand what to look for with these teams and matchups! Clearly the best in the business by far!
13 points on 13 drives. Not much more you can say. In a world where QB's and high-powered offenses are glorified, the old adage holds true: defense wins championships.
It was a good defensive game on both sides. Washington had a half dozen plays that if they worked out, it's a much different game. Michigan played smash-mouth football and it showed.
The Boa Constrictor reigns supreme, Hail to the Victor's, Go Blue... Got to watch Mich win the Natty with my dad & my 11 yr old son. 3 generations watching Mich win the Natty for the 1st time since I was 11 yr old... No words to describe how awesome that was to experience...
Good for u brother. Lost my old man and best friend months apart years ago, all 3 of us die hard Michigan fans. Go Blue baby we did it. The boys are lookin down smiling, not only are we national champs but we are undisputed undefeated 15-0 perfect champions. Been crying since. Tears of pure joy
37 year old (about to be 38) right there with you. Congrats to the Wolverines…from a diehard and heartbroken Husky fan…the better team won yesterday. If Penix had hit those wide open receivers like always has before, it could have been different, but I believe UM is better. Happy for them and looking forward to joining the Big 10 as potential future rivals.
Very classy of you. I will say though, I think Penix was missing those receivers because of the constant pressure from the best defense in the country. Go Blue! ][V][
Folks like you keep me reading comments and throwing my own comments in. Class is always the way to go. Welcome to the B1G next season, big time respect for Husky Nation.
Looking forward to Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA joining the Big 10. Living in California I will now get to see the Big 10 live regularly. Always loved the Washington Huskey's fans, they have always been the best. It is always heartbreaking losing, but you should be proud of the season they played. Being a Michigan fan we have been in the same place so many times.
To be fair that one big pass called back for imaginary hold could have really changed the game. I’m a UM fan but Penix was very impressive I felt so bad for him getting battered and fighting through some injury. He throws a real pretty ball can’t wait to see him in the league.
YOUR ANALYSIS WAS EXACTLY RIGHT!!!! You literally spoke on how: 1. The interior pressure would be a major issue for Washington 2. The change in secondary scheme would benefit Michigan in this matchup. 3. Huskies could not sustain limited drives… They needed more possessions. 4. Washington’s defense was not going to be able to handle the ground game. You nailed it… Point blank. You are worth the listen💪🏾
I played football in junior high, high school, and college. The so called “sign stealing” situation is laughable because every team tries to get an edge. If a team steals your signs that’s on YOU and YOUR team. Our teams in high school and college changed signs depending on the team we were playing. We huddled or had play call wrist bands to mitigate the edge of opponents scouting. AT&T kept playing commercials about the technology that they have in helmets during the NCG. It’s time they put it to use and do what the NFL did (mic in helmets). But I guarantee you that college coaches (I.E. OsU) who steal signs and get that edge don’t want microphones in the helmets and it’s been apart of the game. Phenomenal win! I’m soaking it all in! Go Blue!!!〽️
Coaching wise if a team was smart enough to steal my signs , I would use that against them. It’s up to the coaching staffs to be aware of ALL situations & take advantage of it.
I appreciate the fact that you clearly expressed the closeness of this team! I am 77 years old, had season tickets for 50 years and feel this is the best TEAM we have ever fielded! Bo would be so proud! Go Blue Forever!
@@Bob-te3lei was a freshman in 97 when Michigan won. From what I see... This team was better. Will Johnson looks good in that 2 Jersey. Reminds me of another number 2
Edwards is muscled out and really, really fast, but he is not a strong runner between the tackles. He runs too upright, always ready to sprint to the end zone. He needs to plow over linebackers and gain an extra two yards rather than try to always dodge them. But Holy Cow! Give him a chance to get past the first two levels of defense untouched, and he's gone. Last night you could see how he outran the Husky cornerbacks and safeties. The speed difference was stunning. Query: what ever happened to the idea of using Edwards as a receiver out of the backfield? No linebacker could ever cover him. I thought they've had pass plays for Edwards they were holding in their pocket for the big games late in the season. If they did, they never used them.

Now, truly, the leaders and best. What a decisive win. Retrospectively, if the Michigan offense hadn’t taken a couple of quarters off, people would be saying, “Yah, you know, but it wasn’t a good game, just another mismatch, ho-hum.” But with Washington’s vaunted ability to put points on the board, the outcome remained very much in doubt well into the 4th quarter, as what had been billed as a higher scoring game morphed into a defensive struggle. Even the non-partisan observers would get their money’s worth as the suspense kept building. Then when the dam broke, a tsunami of energy lifted and carried the ultimate victors (valiant) to a stunning conclusion. In the end, Michigan delivered one for the ages, including the memorable image of a dejected and injured Michael Penix walking into the tunnel alone and forgotten, only to receive consolation from a Michigan man, in a gesture that is normally only seen in old movies. Hate THAT, if you can, haters. The leaders, the best, showed their prowess and their class. The *men* of Michigan are triumphant at last.

I'm a Georgia fan. 44 years old. Have been a Georgia fan my whole life. Georgia didn't win the game that mattered. We would have been in if we had beat Alabama. We didn't. Yes, Georgia is one of the "four best teams" in my opinion. But again, it doesn't matter. The results on the field have to matter. And in no universe should Georgia have got in over an undefeated Washington, an undefeated Michigan, a one loss conference champ Texas (who beat the team that beat Georgia), or a one loss SEC champ Alabama who literally just beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Hypotheticals do not matter. It's irrelevant if someone thinks Georgia would have beat Michigan. Absolutely irrelevant. And we will never know because Georgia didn't handle business when they needed to. Alabama did.
@doughotchkiss I get your point, but I wouldn't say that Detroit "blew a playoff series". Boston had the best record in the American league that year. Detroit won their division by one game. Detroit pitching had a slightly lower ERA than Boston pitching, but Boston pitchers had a .599 win/loss percentage. Detroit pitchers had a .574 win/loss percentage. Boston was the favorite in that series and it didn't even go to a game 7; Boston won in 6. It's kind of apples and oranges. Georgia went 12-0 in the regular season, then lost one game to Alabama in the SEC Championship. That's a lot different than a baseball team who plays 162 games, then loses 4-2 in a 7 game series...
UM is excellent at the basics of blocking, tackling & getting off blocks. They are what Nebraska used to be with a focus on the basics & being physical. You don't need 5 stars for that
I really enjoyed listening to all the talking heads talk about how the UW offense was going to light up Michigan's D and how Michigan hadn't faced a QB as good as Pennix and they padded their stats against lesser competition. I honestly felt bad for Pennix by the end of the game, he looked like he was in a lot of pain. Mike Sainnristil was a three star recruit out of the high school football hotbed of Everitt, Massachusetts. He developed into a solid NFL prospect.
They beat the tar out of Washington in the second half. It was sad, I thought he should have left the game than risk the potential of internal bleeding.
Jesse Minter deserves every ounce of praise he gets. Has been outstanding since he got here. Going to root for him wherever he ends up... unless they're playing Michigan or the Lions
Joel, for the mailbag: I thought Donovan edwards "The Don" was the offensive MVP for Michigan. I know they gave it to Corum but I just think that Dons ability to open the national championship wide open in the first half, especially after not having as productive a year as we all thought he could was truly special. Blake had more yards but I think Don had a huge impact on inspiring Michigan early on en route to a title. I'd give the MVP to Don, just my opinion. Your thoughts?
I thought about that too. Donovan, with 2 TDs and PATs of course, outscored Washington before they scored their first points. Happy for him as he's always been a great player in the biggest games but had a slower than expected year this year. Maybe next year will be his biggest and best when he's RB1, assuming he is
Absolutely agree. Donovan is such a positive force at all times. Part of the spiritual leadership of the team. Sainristil was my pick for defensive MVP as well.
"The team! The team! The team!" Thats why this team won the championship. What an amazing group of athletes and coaches. Hearing them speak after the win, you could just hear that coming from everyone that was interviewed. Very impressed with them! Go Blue!
Hollywood can't write trilogies as satisfying as Michigan's last 3 seasons. I think part of what makes this year so special is how '20-'23 tells the whole story and I love that Joel makes it a point to include all that awesome context
GO BLUE!!!! Been a Michigan fan my whole life... I'm 44... it was epic! One of the best defenses I've ever seen play CFB... just next level. They've been lights out all season! Football never really changes as much as it does.... great defense and a running game wins championships! Gonna enjoy this one! Also trust me.... not a single Michigan fan will care if anyone wants to try and discredit this or take away from it. Hahahaha. It makes me enjoy it more bc nothing they say or even do will change how I felt last night when the game ended and still today. Same with the Reggie Bush heisman... yeah you might take it but everyone including Reggie knows he won it and he experienced winning it. Losers love being miserable.
Great stuff, really thoughtful and thought provoking. I also think the importance of recruiting, both out of HS and the portal, to fit your culture is so important. Michigan won because of the culture. They brought in guys with fewer stars who fit rather than compromising culture for stars. And it worked.
Thank you Joel for being one of the biggest supportive mouthpieces for our team! A lot of people had turned against this team for whatever reason but you and Colin both were at least looking at it through a realistic lens and never labeled us. Much appreciated!
As a lifelong UM diehard fan, I was one of those in 2020 saying it was time for the Harbaugh experiment to end. I was so wrong. What he has done is amazing.
Long time Michigan fan, two time grad and season ticketholder here. This is the greatest Michigan team in my memory and perhaps of all time. The players were all in and supported each other. Just a great team and Go Blue! Agree that "Burgergate" and "Stallionsgate" are insignificant in the overall performance of the team.
I have to say, this year was honestly a breath of fresh air. Each Power 5 conference had at least one team that was a playoff contender (too bad one of them didn't get in), you had 2 new contenders for the Natty and then having a new champion. But also, the narrative just felt different than the same old we've been getting for years. I mean, how many years did these scenarios essentially happen: Pac-12: Eats itself alive and no one gets in Big 10: Wisconsin wins the west. Ohio St. beats Michigan and wins the east. Ohio St. beats Wisconsin in the B10 Championship. Ohio St. makes the CFP before losing in the semifinal to Clemson or the SEC Big 12: Oklahoma wins the conference, then wins a Heisman. Makes it to the CFP before losing in the semifinal. ACC: Clemson gets in. Plays Alabama. Sometimes wins and sometimes loses. SEC: Alabama wins the west and/or Georgia wins the east. One or both gets in and one wins it (the exception was LSU but still an SEC team and still a blue blood) Respect to all these stellar programs (coming from a Clemson fan btw) but it just got so stale after a while...
Exactly. Great post. Klatt hit on that when he talked about the talent gap. College football was getting a little disgusting with the lack of parity. Hopefully this is the start of change.
Michigan is a perfect example that if players remain, comeback and the staff stays together than you can be champions! This is a throwback team.... "those who stay.... "
Michigan continually brought in guys who believed and bought into the culture and scheme and they got better each year from 12-2 to 13-1 to 15-0. I particularly loved how they recognized how to change their scheme against the highly talented teams. Alabama did not lose bc they didn’t have the players, but Sherrone Moore continually exposed their defense with motions and changing defenses. They took advantage of those looks and won bc they had the better game plan. Incredible to watch
I really wish Michigan coaching staff sticks around for couple more years. Minter and Moore was amazing at their jobs as coordinators, the strength and conditioning department is one of if not the best in the land, and Harbaugh seems to be thriving as a key figure in college football landscape. Turn around in talent is inevitable but if Michigan can hold onto the brains of the program I think they will be fine.
I think now that he has a natty, Harbaugh goes to the Chargers, Moore becomes the head coach at UM, and I'm just crossing my fingers Minter sticks around a few more years before becoming a HC somewhere else or gets a DC job with the big boys. Go Blue!!
Jimmy to LAC. Moore promoted to HC. Half staff will leave with Jimmy. I think Hart Bellamy stay on offense as co OC. Minter is going to be an nfl coordinator. I think clinkscale will get promoted to DC. This would keep us on the up. If we don’t have 3-4 assistants stay we’re in a rebuild
Michigan is an anomaly with thier lower recruiting level by only having two 5star players and by higher academic standards. This championship is one for the ages.

Joel, your understanding and ability to communicate the intricacies of the game and human drama of college football is incredible and deeply appreciated by all fans of the support. You are able and willing to remain open and unbiased toward all teams in all situations. You make headlines by being clear, honest, and authentic as you demonstrate a football Abilene that is unparalleled. Thank you so much for another year, and looking forward to the next one. And dear Michigan Wolverines, I grew up in Ohio with 3 diehard Bucknut brothers, yet forever a Michigan fan. I have never been so proud to be a University of Michigan alumna. Thank you Jim, Jessie, Sherrone, Herb, and all the staff and all the Boys of Team 144. You made us so happy and proud. Go Blue!
This game had a somber feeling to it, Amazing, Unreal win. Its also more than likely Jim Harbaughs last game as a Wolverine. 10 seasons as the Head Coach, 3 consecutive wins over Ohio State, 3 Consecutive Big Ten Titles and a National Championship. An Amazing run capped off by 3 years of Dominace, thankful for all he did for us and he deserves a Super Bowl.
I would love to hear more discussion about how few 5 Star recruits were on the field for Michigan last night. The focus every year is recruiting, but this was a statement win about development and playing for the team.
I was thinking about that and agree. But look what our 5* did last night: Two long TD runs, 1 crucial INT, and some QB scrambles and throws that happened when they were absolutely needed.
It’s a good point but most of the players on Michigan’s team are 4 stars with a few high 3 stars. There are only about 30 5 stars per year and over half go to Alabama, OSU, Georgia, teams like that. And even sometimes the 5 star players don’t pan out. It is a fair point that Michigan has not been an elite recruiter but they are very close. Probably top 15 to top 10 overall.
I just wanted to say thank Joel. I really really appreciate your ability to express your feeling. It’s like a story telling pod cast. You’re the best !! God Bless !!
Last night was just surreal. We've waited for this for so long. The men on this team are just phenomenal and so humble. HAIL YEAH! WHOSE GOT IT BETTER THAN US? BET!

Hey Joel, just wanted to help illustrate how much this means for Michigan fans. I was born in ‘96, grew up with the Lloyd Carr glory days of Chad Henne, Braylon Edwards, Mike Hart, Mario Manningham. Then lived through about 15 years of disappointment with this program; my entire adult life. Rich Rod, Brady Hoke, and then Jimmy. He was supposed to be the savior, and we were close for years but could never get there, and were bullied around by our rivals. Then 2020 hit and it looked like we would never get there and would have to start all over again. Fast forward 3 years and we are champions of the world, and it means so much. It’s emotional beyond words. It’s never been better to a be Michigan Wolverine. Go Blue Forever!! 💙💙
Mike Heart will always be my favorite Wolverine. Corum and Woodson are close by him. And I forgot all about Maningham he was 🔥 Also Dennard Robinson is one of my favorites
Lots of us have 30 (or more) years on you, starting with Bo or even his predecessor and went through two "dips". Nice to be back on top. But "amateur" college football has changed forever and it will likely be more difficult for single teams to maintain the kind of dominance we've seen from GA, AL, Clemson, OSU, and....MI because they can no longer stack exceptional QB's and other players 3-4 deep. Now they need another secret sauce to maintain top tier performance - like identifying talent that can be developed, identifying the kids that have the right personality and commitment and will buy into the program (and equally avoiding future self centered prima donnas), like creating an optimal culture for competition....oh and maybe just maybe the quality of education (?!).
What a great job of analyzing the formula for Michigan's success. I could listen to Joel talk football forever. He has single-handedly rekindled my interest in college football because he does more than opine. He creates a legitimate narrative that is compelling and thought provoking. He is the best of the best. 💪🏻

Joel Klatt you are a real one, as usual. Had a great season watching your show and your games. Way to stand out amongst the media circus and call it how you feel it. Oh, and GO BLUE!
As a Michigan alum I agree about this team: they embody Bo's "The Team, the team, the team" mantra better than easily any Michigan team I've seen play. Their camaraderie and character are truly admirable, a group of young men you want to succeed. '97 was special, but Team 144 is indeed legendary.
A real test for a fan is whether or not you can wear the colors when the team is YOY underperforming .. been sporting the maize & blue for a very long time ...... last night was a very long time coming - GO Blue Edwards... what a stud
Two things I'd add to Joel's points about more teams having hope. If you don't have the stars like Bama et al, you need the best coaches. Michigan has probably the best coaching staff in the country, top NFL caliber guys. Also NIL being legal for everyone now and not just the SEC, that's what we're seeing improve the parody.
You make college football waaay more enjoyable because of your great experience, insight, and ability to communicate that to fans. Broadcasters everywhere could learn a lot watching your show.
I'm a Michigan fan who, after being basically abused by Ohio State for 20 years, thought this would never happen in my lifetime. It might not happen again, so I'm going to enjoy this as long as I can.
The love and friendship in that team was so special and it really made them fun to watch. They all came back together to win a championship, they rallied around Zak Zinter, they were so unified and dedicated to one another. This is so rare in sports today. I couldn't be more proud of them. Go Blue!!
Joel, thanks so much for the kind words in defense of the program. There are a lot of haters out there who think Michigan didn’t deserve to win, or it’ll get vacated or given an asterisk by the NCAA. Whatever happens, it’s good to know that the people who really understand, live and breathe college football know that Michigan WAS deserving, had the best team, and gave our University and alumni something to be proud of. No one can take that away.
trust me any one who says they are not good or don't deserve it don't know football, because when I watch every expert they all say they proved they are legit by beating penn state, ohio state, BAMA, and WASH
A defensive masterclass from Jesse Minter and the Michigan D. I truly never thought I’d see this in my lifetime and after that COVID season I thought that was the official end of Michigan as a blue blood program after almost getting to the peak. Now 3 years later we’re top of the college football world and Michigan will be trending up for the foreseeable future. Thank you Jim Harbaugh and THE TEAM THE TEAM THE TEAM
Great coaches learn from their players as much as their players learn from them. The fact that we beat the SEC champion Alabama in the Rose bowl, validates this national championship for me. Finally, we are at the top, GO BLUE!!!!
I love that talent is spreading out. The problem with stacked teams is that there's a lot of great players not getting exposure because they're stuck behind other great players. Development matters too.
Well said as usual Joel. I couldn’t agree more with your take on the overall parity of college football right now. Next year is going to be a great year for the sport. I am a die hard Michigan fan but I’m also a huge Big Ten fan in general and I can’t stress enough how excited I am for next year. The Big Ten is going to have a lot of parity and it’s nice to see we can hold our own against these SEC teams finally. Your take on this being a golden age couldn’t be any more true. Go blue!!
The discussion was mainly about on the team changes that were made over the last four years. Another huge consideration is Culture and Heritage. Although other teams should be hopeful, not many have the same level of support from fans, alumni, dollars and stuents as a Michigan, Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.
Thanks for another great season, Joel. You are head and shoulders above your peers in this business, with both your analysis and enthusiasm for the game!
Well Michigan just blew up the “recruit rankings model”. Not even top 10 average and they totally dominated. Experience and development matter more than “green” five stars who are just waiting their 3 years to go to the league.
Great season, Joel! You, Gus, Jenny and the Big Noon crew are my favorites in the business and you are far and away THE analyst for me in the CFB world. Keep up the great work. Go Blue!
I played college football for two different teams. All coaches on every team I have played for INSIST on running the hole, even if it's not open ! Kudos to whomever it is at Michigan that allows their backs to find a hole after the initial called hole never opens ! It won them a lot of games this year, and also won them a national championship.
Good linebackers see the designed hole, jump up to fill it, and get off the block of any OL guy that appears late after pulling. The way to beat that type of response is to not run in tha initial hole, but, instead, run to one that opens up towards where the linebacker had resposibility to cover, but made a not so good decision to jump up into the intitial hole, instead. Somehow I don't think those sorts of offensive plays are RB improvisations. I think they are carefully planned.
I have been saying all year that the Michigan defense is an elite squad and would showcase it when it mattered most. Been watching football for a long time and this is the best defense I have ever seen in CF . Happy for the players, coaches, fans, and university. GO BLUE!
Something for all fans to remember when they start wanting to run coaches off after a couple seasons. It took Harbaugh eight seasons to deliver a title.
40-3 since 2020 and not to mention those 3 losses were as follows 2021 MSU- Lost to one of the most prolific running backs in cfb and had a few rly bad calls not go our way… and still only lost by one score 2021 UGA- One of the greatest cfb defenses ever collected 2022 TCU- Two pick six’s and fumble on the 1yd line… and still only lost by one score
You must be proud of the sign stealing those 3 years eh?......Easy to win when you know the opponents plays that are forthcoming. This "championship" needs to be vacated and the last 3 years wins totally forfeited. What hairbrain did to sparty this year was inexcusable.

Nah, this one is all UMs. The conference and all the little snitches don't get any share in this one. The big ten is entitled to nothing, UM won this in spite of them hence they get no credit in any way, shape, or form.

Happy for them and looking forward to joining the Big 10 as potential future rivals.
Very classy of you. I will say though, I think Penix was missing those receivers because of the constant pressure from the best defense in the country. Go Blue! ][V][
Yeah. Penix biggest weakness is he can't handle the pressure. Lots of times looked scared of getting hit. Doesn't bode well for NFL success.
You literally spoke on how:
1. The interior pressure would be a major issue for Washington

Yep never has someone with 6 carries been so valuable
@@kendallandrews8691your delusional, or blind. Look at the full stat line. 6 carries for around 150 yards and 2 tds. How is someone making so much of so little opportunity not valuable? Use your brain

Respect to your even-keeled assessment 🤝
Georgia reminded me of the 2013 Detroit Tigers who had the most ridiculous pitching staff but blew a playoff series to Boston and wasn’t in the WS.
Agreed. So many doubters this year. I'm absolutely loving the fact that Michigan beat them all. All the teams and all the naysayers. Hail!
They beat the tar out of Washington in the second half. It was sad, I thought he should have left the game than risk the potential of internal bleeding.

I felt the same
Facts
I agree. Said to my cousin right after the game, MVP is either #0 for terrific defense down the stretch or Edwards because he set the tone early.
Best part of this particular Michigan run? Was that YOU got to do so many of our games! Thanks Joel!

Me too
Long time Michigan fan, two time grad and season ticketholder here.
I mean, how many years did these scenarios essentially happen:
Pac-12: Eats itself alive and no one gets in
Big 10: Wisconsin wins the west. Ohio St. beats Michigan and wins the east. Ohio St. beats Wisconsin in the B10 Championship. Ohio St. makes the CFP before losing in the semifinal to Clemson or the SEC
Big 12: Oklahoma wins the conference, then wins a Heisman. Makes it to the CFP before losing in the semifinal.
ACC: Clemson gets in. Plays Alabama. Sometimes wins and sometimes loses.
SEC: Alabama wins the west and/or Georgia wins the east. One or both gets in and one wins it (the exception was LSU but still an SEC team and still a blue blood)
Respect to all these stellar programs (coming from a Clemson fan btw) but it just got so stale after a while...
Exactly.
Facts. I will say it now if JJ McCarthy Donavon Edwards, , Junior Colson etc some back they go undefeated national champions next year also.
Not happening. Before the end of this month, Michigan will be led by Sherrone Moore. I am not happy about it, but that will be the reality.

I’m a Texas fan and agree 100% with Joel. Michigan deserves every bit of respect they’ve earned.
Life long UM fan…. Not even in a million years would I have believed that OUR team would go on such a run! Go Blue!
And you had to cheat to do it😂
Im a Buckeye. If my team won like yours did I wouldnt be celebrating at all.

The last 2 time Michigan played Washington..
2021
M 31-10 with over 300yrds rushing
2024
M 34-13
Over 300 rushing yrds! Woohoo! Go Blue!!
303 yards rushing to Washington 301 yards total offense
Really wanted to hear Gus saying "The Don!" on those long Edwards touchdowns.
Congrats to Michigan! Dominating performance!
I received free tickets to The Big House in 2021 for The Game and temporarily turned them down. It lasted 15 min before I came to my senses and accepted. The first and only time at The Big House and they defeat that team from underneath us to the South. I almost just went hunting instead, lol so glad my wife talked me out of a huge mistake! Go Blue 💙💙💙!!!
Thank God you came to your senses. You would've regretted that the rest of your life. Go Blue.
'97 was special, but Team 144 is indeed legendary.
grats michigan. -from a bama fan
Going to miss the Boa Constrictor analogy. Always an informative and leveled headed evaluation of the game/team. Great job Joel.
You’re always on point Joel! The perspective you’ve had throughout their season was very accurate and insightful! Thank you for doing what you do!
Joel, thanks for your coverage of the cfb season - you have amazing insights and rock solid integrity.
Looking forward to next season.
Mich. Fan since 54 Now 77. Never wavered
Thank you Joel for your coverage of us all season, you are truly the best of the best. NATTY CHAMPS BABY🎉
You make college football waaay more enjoyable because of your great experience, insight, and ability to communicate that to fans. Broadcasters everywhere could learn a lot watching your show.
A big thank you from everyone klatt! College football season has become enjoyable again, and your involvement has pushed it even farther.
I am still so elated. I love you team-- way to go. 💛💙🏈🏆
Once again, Joel shows a breadth and depth of understanding of college football.
Go Blue!!
Ryan Day will have even more pressure now
I was lucky enough to travel to Ann Arbor to see team 144 play live in the Big House. A season I will never forget.
Great takes Joel! Defense still wins championships! So proud of these young men and their coaching staff. Go Blue!
Great coaches learn from their players as much as their players learn from them. The fact that we beat the SEC champion Alabama in the Rose bowl, validates this national championship for me. Finally, we are at the top, GO BLUE!!!!
Michigan fan here. Have watched this probably 10x over the past year.
Congratulations to UM, they had the best coaching staff and team this season.
I just want to point out, Klatt was the ONLY guy who was saying Harbaugh should not get fired after the 2020 season
Look how that turned out.
Joel Klatt....the best in the business. Period.
@@Yesquire0 several Big Ten teams used to do it, but not many coaches allow it.
Thanks Joel. Your commentary and analysis made an amazing season for Michigan even better.
Joel your absolutely right the defensive line is always the difference in the Championship game. Thank you for that.
It took Harbaugh eight seasons to deliver a title.
if not for mediocre quarterback play i think for sure we wouldve collected one 2018 -2019
Yes 0 and 5 prior to last three years gives him a....losing record...
@@Backyardfitand 2016 if we didn't get cheated
Thank you Joel for pointing out that the violations did not affect Michigan winning the championship.
40-3 since 2020 and not to mention those 3 losses were as follows
2021 MSU- Lost to one of the most prolific running backs in cfb and had a few rly bad calls not go our way… and still only lost by one score
2021 UGA- One of the greatest cfb defenses ever collected
2022 TCU- Two pick six’s and fumble on the 1yd line… and still only lost by one score
You must be proud of the sign stealing those 3 years eh?......Easy to win when you know the opponents plays that are forthcoming. This "championship" needs to be vacated and the last 3 years wins totally forfeited. What hairbrain did to sparty this year was inexcusable.

Letting us peek into your mind and experiences is what makes this show great. Thank you so very much Mr. Klatt. I’ve been watching since the beginning and for many years as a Michigan fan over 60 years. Keep up the great insights and sounds that we live vicariously through you. Love it.
