We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time. We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30 with an initial goal of 100 before we turn 25. By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)
Switzerland was country #69/197🌍
We began our trip in Zürich and from there went to Liechtenstein via Sargans. We then continued to St. Moritz to catch the Glacier Express to Zermatt. After hiking by the Matterhorn, we continued northward to Interlaken, Thun, and Bern, visiting the beautiful Jungfrau region and the villages of Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and Mürren. We got the chance to fly in a tiny airplane with a stranger over the alps and see the iconic Jungfraujoch from the sky! We then finished our trip in the gorgeous city of Lucerne, a perfect bookend to a beautiful trip🇨🇭

Can you post links of your stay and vegan places.
MUCH LOVE from Switzerland
Thank you for enjoying Switzerland. Every day wherever I go, I see beauty. I live in the French part, but I take trains easily and visit every place I can whenever I want. Everything is so easy and comfortable and when you know how to do, you can spend a whole day spending just paying your bus or train or boat. You can buy whatever you want or need in COOP or Migros and do a picnic. You find drinkable water every where. Still now, as soon as I wake up, I feel and see the beauty of this country.
Can you please suggest me that visit during November end December starting of this year will be good enough to enjoy the scenic beauty of Switzerland ?
@@susmitasarkar2185yes the scenic beauty is during the whole year present. Switzerland doesn't have a lot of fog during those months. Sometimes rain. And it is cold.
@@jcmelborai thank you so much for your reply...
Sorry but we dont say « french part » but french speaking part ! Cause its not a part of france . Thx
Been binge-watching Young Royals interviews these past few days, and that's how I came across your travel videos. Frankly, I've been enjoying 'going around' Switzerland with you guys. It's nice to see others' perspective because it gets mundane living here.. but after watching your vlogs, it makes me feel blessed for living in this country. New subbie here.. love your energy and style. Can't wait for more travel vlogs!💜
Thank you so much🙏❤️ Would be interested to hear how the Young Royals interviews led you to our channel, was one of our vids recommended?😊
@@OskarandDan Your travel vlog in Switzerland started popping into my feed, maybe because I also live here and I love travel vlogs, plus I watched YR reaction videos from Corey Schultz' channel and I also watched a Grindelwald video. I don't know how UA-cam works, but it picked it up. Haven't gone through all of your videos, but I wonder if you've been to the Philippines, coz I'm Swiss-Filipino and I love traveling around Asia, too. Glad you popped in my recommendations!
I live close to Zürich and this series has made me a fan of this channel already! It's true that you get used to it very quickly, the mountains, the clean water, the quiet trains (which I still find too noisy often...), but this has made me appreciate such things more again. Personally, my favorite destinations here are the Lavaux (even just riding a train through the vineyards with the lake of Geneva in the background is magical), the Lac de Joux (an underrated region in the very west), Appenzell (just a lovely, very traditional and hilly area with cute villages), the Stanserhorn (a PERFECT view, and I've seen many... also the cablecar is really cool here), Brissago/Ascona (colorful villages with close travel times to Verzasca, Verbania in Italy etc.) and finally several villages/valleys in our pride of the mountain - Graubünden (like Davos which I think is *not* overrated with its lovely lake and several peaks surrounding it, Laax with the most beautiful mountain lake of Switzerland (Lake Cauma) and Il Spir that gives you a Grand-Canyon-like view, Zernez with our only National Park as well as Sils Maria from where you can go up the mountain to see three to four decent-sized lakes at the same time)! Obviously, I think that the Lake of Zurich where I live is still the prettiest place ever and I wouldn't want to change locations, so taking a boat ride here is always worth a try (especially during sunsets).
I also live near zurich(winterthur). Thak you for this series. Swiss people are so used to quiet trains, beautiful view, clean water etc. This series made me think about that. I noticed how privileged we are and what a luckwe have. We have a little house in Pontresina (near st.Moritz and i went sailing on the silsersee( one of the four decent-sized lakes. And yes, sils maria is really a nice place.
PS:the trains are to loud and
Ehe für alli:JA👍
I also live in Switzerland, come from the French speaking Canton of Jura and I have travelled pretty much every corner in Switzerland and whilst there are a lot of places I could recommend, I believe this persons list is pretty decent ;)
Fast forward to today. Marriage equality came to Switzerland since your post. So pleased that the Swiss people voted in favor. My husband and I will be starting our Swiss vacation in your beautiful city of Zürich in June. We're so excited for our trip.
@@TSinRM I completely forgot about this comment, but yes it was a clear victory! enjoy your trip to my home city (...and beyond) ☺️
This seems to be such a breathtaking place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
If you’ll come back to Switzerland you definitely have to come to Ticino 🥰😍 … it’s where most of the Swiss people goes for the weekend and summer holiday! ❤️
Hi I'm looking to take a trip to switzerland over the next couple years.. Is this a good place to plan my trip to? Looking for what would be the best swiss experience if that makes sense.
@@ObvStar48 I recommend to visit the Ponte dei Salti in Lavertezzo, its a old stone bridge that cross the crystal clear Verzasca River
@@ObvStar48 I live in Switzerland, and highly recommend visiting a smaller city like Solothurn. It is quite representative of Switzerland, and easily accessible by train.
@@user-np2eu9dt5t Just curious, but do a lot of Swiss people speak English in smaller cities like that? I'm trying my best to learn Swiss-German but it's not the easiest language haha
@@ObvStar48
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer:
A lot of people here in Switzerland speak English. Switzerland is a land of many languages. Here, most things are in German, French, and sometimes Italian. Occasionally, there are English translations. On and near public transit, these are common. They are sometimes weird, but do the job. Also, at train stations there are offices where you can go to for help. The personnel there and the conductors on trains are all multilingual. I think its even a requirement to work there. Attempting to talk in one of the 4 national languages of Switzerland is always appreciated, but most people will notice that you are having trouble and switch languages.
So if you don't know a lot of German or French, you should still be able to get along. And as a backup, Google Translate always exists.
Here's an Wikipedia article for more numbers and details:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Switzerland
Yes, you really should visit the italian speaking part of Switzerland too. There is a train line from Zurich to the city of Lugano which takes only about 2 hours. And Lugano is also situated at a beautiful lake with several very nice mountains to go to, boat trips to take. You can experience a lot of Lugano in one weekend.
Great footage of Switzerland. It’s such a beautiful country. I’ve been to Lucerne before and, while it was many years ago it was beautiful and clean just like you depicted it❤️👍✈️
It's absolutely fabulous!
So glad you got to enjoy Switzerland, as we did several years ago with a two week train trip all around with a different place nearly every night. Was gorgeous!
Great summation of your 11 days in Switzerland. You incorporated a lot of shots I didn't see in the previous vlogs. All of the drone shots were fantastic. Looking forward to your visit to Andorra. In the meantime stay well.
I've been following this channel since day 1. and I am so impressed with how much Oskar has grown in front of the camera! I remember when he was shy! love you guys! keep up the travelling
Aaaw thank you😳❤️ It's been a journey haha!
@@OskarandDan proud of you!! you two are still the cutest EVER.
It's amazing how such a tiny country in the middle of Europe has so much to offer. I live here 40 years and am still discovering some hiden gems down some valley I never heard of.
Oh man I just moved to the US and seeing this video made me cry. I really miss Switzerland. I miss the days when I was traveling around and not worrying about what else I have to do on my work days. Now currently owning a business in the US and having almost no time to visit home is very hard specially when my brother aswell as my Girlfriend are in Switzerland. Just to everyone let nothing stop you from doing or going wherever you want. Switzerland is an absolut bomb when it comes to beauty but never forget there are 100’000 other places that are beautiful aswell.❤️🌍🇨🇭
I took a long vacation several years ago and went to Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In Switzerland we went to Lucerne, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Gimmelwald (highly recommend), Interlaken, went up to Piz Gloria, etc. My advice to anyone doing this kind of a long trip is go to Switzerland last because you will throw rocks at other countries that are obviously still very beautiful lol. It's so nice to see in the comments that the Swiss are very aware of how beautiful their country is. I don't know that I could ever get used to it. I would be sitting outside having a beer and look up at the Alps and felt shocked each time over and over at how glorious it was. I'm going back this summer and I love all of your suggestions and the comments section with suggestions from locals! The Swiss are very lucky!
We in Switzerland have a huge tourist problem, we have too many spots that are worth seeing. Even at 4 weeks you can't really see everything that is worth seeing/experiencing.
But you are right, you should also visit the French and Italian speaking part and see how many things feel different, culturally, nature, life. One country, many different sides.
My ultimate dream place to visit 💕 EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL! NATURE AT ITS BEST 🌿
Wow just wowwww...Visiting Switzerland next month and I could not thank you enough on how INFORMATIVE and AMAZING your videos are 🙇♀️👌🙌
14:32 you pretty much nailed it in my humble Swiss opinion ;)
YAY!😍😂
Loved watching you guys going around Switzerland!! I would of loved to show you guys around bern as I’ve grown up there! Maybe next time!❤️
Thank you for mentioning Montreux! It's basically a hidden gem of Switzerland and I absolutely love it. I grew up there but recently came back to the US for schooling.
I spent a week in Vevey a couple of years ago. It's a beautiful region.
Glad meet your video.
so excited to go switzerland on September before I go to Croatia for my Business Trip.
Can wait to see these incredeble view.
Thanks for your video!
Great series bro thanks for making this video
Without your video the week does not feel completed . love your videos thank you so much
That's so nice of you🙏❤️
thanks for sharing your travel experience, i love switzerland and experience how it was to be there, so beautiful country. wish soon i can be there
I was waiting to see whether you visited my hometown Lucerne ^^ it's always cool to see it through someone that sees it for the first time. i am also honestly impressed by your pronunciation of all the swiss names ^^ your rendition of Vierwaldstättersee was very good.
Thank you so much for a wonderful trip around beautiful Switzerland. I miss Basel so much. Take care and keep on travelling.
''Visit the world before covid does!''
Great content and tips! thank you!
i'm swiss myself and last year 2020 my nephew and i did the clacier-express trip starting from zurich - st. moritz, stayed there for one night and traveled with the same express all the way to zermatt. the 9 hour trip was loooong but amazing just for making that experience. zermatt itself blew our minds away its soooo beautiful. but we decided that if we go back there (and we will!) we would travel a more direct way by train. less costs and waaaay less hours traveling to get to zermatt.
Nice to see you enjoyed it here.
Even on a bad day, Switzerland is stunningly beautiful! Loved the Jungfrau region, but Spiez & Lake Thun was amazing...the cows with the cow bells was a true "Heidi" moment.
Agreed!
Man, that forest and cloudy mountains are so beautiful! 🤩
🙌
you forgott the Rätromanisch
it get spoken in a part of the Kanton Graubünden…
you need to visit the engadin/ounderengdin.
Thanks for the tips!
I love your videos great editing.
When you are in Mürren don’t miss to go up the Schildhorn with its turning restaurant where the James Bond 007 with George Lezenby was shot .
Great view on Eiger,Mönch and Jungfrau.
so funny to watch this a swiss citizen and going like Ohh i went there last weekend oh ive been there hope you enjoyed your stay in switzerland! Viel glück auf ihre reise ( good luck on your trip)
Such a beautiful country! 🥰
I enjoyed yourctrek thru Switzerland. Your advice of northern cities first, and then the south is good advice. Geneve, Basel, Bern Zurich and Lucerne are all very nice, but the area around Locarno and Lugano are really wonderful, and sunnier/warmer. My first trip to Switzerland was in the 2nd week of an 8-week trip, and spoiled me for the rest of the trip, as no other country compared! I want to spend 6 months in Lugano as part of my retirement plan. My 21st birthday was on a train from Montreux to Lucerne. Needless to say, in the decades since - no birthday equalled that 21st!
I'm planing to visit switzerland. Thank you for all your tips.
Great vlogs, keep it up.
wherever you are, enjoy your stay (might be good text for some merch, shirts or stuff like that) :-)
Great work, guys. The video production gets slicker and slicker; Switzerland looks superb as a result. Keep up with the lols, I genuinely laugh out loud ("gorge", Gaga 😂)
Thank you so so much❤️
Nice vidéo like it, I'm Swiss and love that, you have to see Fribourg / Freibourg and the old city it's magic to see also don't forget to see the Gruyère land beautiful too and taste they cheese best cheese ever.
I crossed Switzerland twice with Interrail and I promptly fell in love with the SBB... Bern is beautiful, Zurich was expensive. I crossed through Liechtenstein in 2019 as well... I wish to come back in future.
Just wow!
Its good to go to the glacier in the summer because its so beautiful 😍.
I am a swiss proud person
One of the most inspiring channels I’ve come across.
So glad to hear that!
I live in Grindelwald… its so beautiful when you have better weather
Great videos of Switzerland. My husband had a business in Zurich and we had an apartment in a town on lake Lucerne. Beautiful country but lots of rules to follow. We got a parking ticket on a quiet mountain road!
As much I enjoyed Switzerland my heart is in Austria where I spent a lot of my teenage years.
I recommend to visit the Ponte dei Salti in Lavertezzo, its a old stone bridge that cross the crystal clear Verzasca River
So beautiful, my next holiday 😍
We stayed in Basel and took a day trip by train to Luzern. We loved just sitting on a bench watching people and the lake. Luzern is a pricey place, but so beautiful.
It's stunning!
Your understanding of swiss German is pretty good 😉
and the pronounciation of Sargans as well! 4:00
St. Moritz is not worth visiting if you're a through traveller. But the Engadina Area, the Bernina, the Swiss national Park, the Maloja and the Bergell regions as well as the Diavolezza, the Morteratsch glacier and the Poschiavo valley (everything withina a 40 km radius) definately ARE. Expect to spend two weeks just to take in a good portion of the sights and experiences as well as four of five unforgettable hikes. These areas are like no other in Switzerland!
Its good to go to the glacier in the summer because its so beautiful 😍.
Also if you plan going to grindelwald you might as well do 3 rides of you’re choice.
I am a swiss proud person
I just came back from switzerland (also from sweden). I was there between 2nd of august and 12th of august. Stayed in zermatt, lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. Had an amazing time. But there is so much to do here, so I need to go back and do some more activities.
Murren and Grindelwald first were probably my fav places. Zermatt is also there but unfortunatly very cloudy when I was there so choose not to go upto Gornergrat.
Hope you had a great time. Pls see my comment above for another fantastic area you MUST see on your next visit...
Love the series. Next time you visit, you gotta go to MORCOTE in the italian part. It was voted the prettiest swiss town!!
🙌✨
You're completely right, Lucerne is the most beautiful city in Switzerland!
You shouldve visit the Rheinfall its the biggest waterfall in Europe
3:35, if you ever come back to switzerland, borrow (or rent somehow) a Rubber Boat (without engine, just a boat with paddles and drive down the Linth Kanal from the Walensee to the Zürichsee (or more precicly, the Obersee), we do this annually and I can highly recommand it.
Hi there, you absolutely need to visit the "Gruyère" region, located in Canton de Fribourg/Freiburg.
Heidi-like clichés would be fulfilled for anyone and not so expensive. Like the Haus of Cailler...
Thanks for the tip!
Just found your videos and I love them! They’re so well done and you guys are adorable! I leave in a few days for Switzerland and I’m vegan so I’ve gotten some great info from you. Did you do a video on Lucerne or did I just miss it somehow? I’ll be there for 2 days. Can’t wait to see where your travels take you next!
Thank you!🙏 Lucerne is part of this video, we didn’t make a separate one :)
I think i saw you! In Zürich
😁
Lauterbrunnen is the most beautiful area in all of Switzerland. We stayed at Hotel Eiger in Mürren back in 2019 and loved it!
Aah amazing!🙌👏
Saudades da Suíça...estou no Brasil no momento.🇧🇷👍👍👍👍
Too bad you guys didn't get to see the famous mountain trifecta "Eiger, Möch and Jungfrau" when you were up in Mürren... I would say it's one of the most spectacular sights in the Swiss Alps😍 Also, you can go up to the "Schilthorn Piz Glora" from Mürren where they famously shot a James Bond movie in the late 60s or the early 70s, so that is pretty cool I guess👍🏼 My personal favorite hike is the one that goes from Männlichen (basically the mountain right inbetween the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald valleys, accessible from Wengen or Grindelwald) to Kleine Scheidegg, which is where you can take the train to go up to Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. It features spectacular views and an amazing landscape with lots of flowers😄
Really amazing country,
My second home town.,
Class ,conservative, and the beauty of the Nature, and the Loyal of the Swiss people themselvs.
I miss.
Sp. the alps.
Good luck.enjoy.
But it is so sad you came when there was pretty much only rain every day. We haven't seen such bad weather in years, thankfully the sun has just came back yesterday. Hope you enjoyed Switzerland! (Oh and you have missed one of the best part Crans-Montana!)
Beautiful vlog of your travel in Switzerland. Just a technical question, did you guys film with drones too?
cool videos! need more!! what's the next few countries on your list considering the covid situation? what was the total cost per person?
you guys are gonna get so big!! i just know it
❤️❤️
Will you be going to Spain and Portugal soon? I’m going to be needing the help when I visit and you guys are so informative when it comes to transportation, what to expect etc.
Not planning on it but happy to give recs on Insta :)
14:33 - Props mate, well said!:)
Swiss cities are all quite similar .. an old town, cobbled streets, interesting architecture, a backdrop, and on a lake or a river, that s not to say they aren t all lovely .. i have lived in bern, now live in geneva, know most parts of the country, but the most beautiful part for me is ticino ..
Quiet an experience and looks beautiful, what was your most favorite memory from there? ❤️
love your channel
❤️❤️
I'd recommend visiting lake cauma. And the engadine valley in general, as well as the canton of Ticino which often gets overlooked by foreign tourists.
Thank you for the tips!🙏
I lived in Geneva. Next time you must go to French speaking Suisse. Great series, many thanks!
Merci🙌
Nice summary. I watched all of your videos about Switzerland! Do you guys have an idea why the swiss videos were so successful?
Probably because Switzerland is pretty pricey and most travel vloggers avoid it, so when someone finally makes videos on the country they garner a lot of attention + the Swiss are generally very proud of their country and are drawn to attention from abroad? Not sure, that's just a guess😇 Kara and Nate's videos from CH were also particularly successful :)
Thank from United Arab Emirates. For u done good jobs 🇦🇪
I think the pass is also good for boats and cable cars.
Feel free to visit Geneva next time you are in switzerland or france ❤️
The next time you visit switzerland, take a look at the area around the klöntaler see and Flumserberg. The latter is a great 1 week stay in winter for skiing at a really reasonable price
And flumserberg is right next to the walensee and near me lol
🙌
Thanks for video..🎁
Have you noticed, that the people in the canton of Bern say no „Nei“ like in swedish Nej? Funny
Yes! Actually noticed that haha
Glad you liked the country. Tell me when you plan your next trip to Switzerland. I grew up and live next to the Walensee and could show you around :)
Nice
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩💙💙
Vierwaldstättersee 👍
I recommend you only 1 thing, which will be very special for you two.. 1. of august, reserve two seats on a boat in lugano, have a beautiful relaxing day, enjoy yourself and during the sunset, take your seats, have a drink and enjoy the national holiday with a huge firework show which you will never forget.. :-) really, take that on your bucket list.. Wish you many more nice and save travels to the other countries.. and thank you for this beautiful vlog ;-)
That's a beautiful recommendation🙌 Thanks❤️
You should visit Ticino, the Italian speaking part of Switzerland, the most beautiful region in my opinion 😊🇨🇭
We love ❤Swiss Train 🐱🐱🐱
Nice video
I tried making an itinerary for Switzerland before, it was: Geneva>Montreux>Zermatt>Grindelwald>Lucerne>Zurich XD i definitely want to base in the Jungfrau region.
You missed Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Fribourg, Neuchatel and Lugano and a lot more. Must com back soon.
I live in Ticino that is the sauth of Switzerland
You can get a day card too.
Fun Fact: The Archway at 13:09 is actually the last remaining part of Lucerne's old Train Station, built in 1896, which sadly burned down in 1971. The new and current one was opened to the public exactly 20 years after the tragedy.
Thank you for the insight!
Hello, i life on Lugano, the Italian part of Swiss, we have 2 beutiful lake, and we 30 minute from the Lake of Como, where George Cloney have his villa, please cooming visit, Lugano, Locarno, Valle Verzasca and many other place on the spring/summer

I love your chanel, guys. You're super cool.
🙏💗
Respect for the almost correct pronouncing of Vierwaldstättersee in Swiss german
