So quick question, if you already dumped the disk, do you still need to continue to run it inside the disk/blu-ray player in order to play the game in PCSX2?
I need this in order to play my Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Def Jam Fight For NY games more comfortably. Never knew they’d turn out to be as expensive as they are today, if I knew I would have bought two copies of each. (One to keep sealed or have for back up and one to play)

You would need a hacked/moded console. If you have a hacked console, you might as well forget about disks and boot all games from a hard drive. Fat ps2 can take an internal drive but slim will only work with usb.

In OSX the magic is in Terminal: diskutil unmountDisk diskN (where N is the number assigned, check it in Disk Utility) dd if=/dev/diskN of=~/Desktop/Game_Title.iso

You simply have to burn the ISO to a DVD disc, but you will need "swap magic" discs or some exploit that allows you to load the backups, in principle without an exploit you cannot.

ps2 disc loader was quite weak so fast would ruin the disc
It's also more accurate if it is burned/copied slowly. Most emulation forums will recommend as slow as it can go.

After you rip the game iso you open PCSX2 and open the iso and select either boot CDVD FULL or boot CDVD FAST which is recommended for PCSX2

This right here is the legal way to obtain ISOs. I for one don't see it as a problem if you choose to download the ISO to save some time though.

it depends on what device you playing, also if its on ps3 there is a chance some games may have minor issues or are not playable

Every DVD could work with DVD Decryptor or Imgburn, be careful with DVD Shrink cause DVD Shrink only works with DVD Video format.
Does the disc still work in a PS2 after creating the ISO? Are you making a copy of the files on the disc to your computer or are you removing them?

Slow write is more secure than fast, but if your drive can write faster you can choose a higher setting.
