- Manchester United have made a written offer of €50m + bonuses for Lenny Yoro. LOSC Lille accepted the offer although the player's priority remains Real but United are pushing. LOSC and Real Madrid continue discussions for Leny Yoro. At the same time, Manchester United submitted an offer of around 50 million euros. Manchester United have sent a proposal of around £50m
including bonuses to Lille for Leny Yoro. Real Madrid, so far, have only made one offer for Yoro - it was worth £17m. Madrid are confident, have Yoro’s agreement and want to take their time to complete the deal. No offers from PSG and Liverpool.

Even if Yoro ends up going to Madrid, what we are seeing from united is encouraging, working in multiple targets, decent prices being floated around. Good to see united acting like a proper club.

@@salsabila786 I think De Ligt was always the safe bet, second-choice signing, a more experienced player who can rotate with Martinez and the other signing. Now De Ligt seems virtually done we're moving onto our main signing, whether that's Branthwaite, Yoro or Todibo.
Signing one of the CBs we’re linked with would be massive in itself. Potentially signing both De Ligt and Yoro would be a statement that this new regime is different gravy.

They’re spreading the costs over multiple years so initial outlay would be minimal I think that’s how they doing it. Look at Chelsea. There’s clearly loopholes
Tbf 30M budget doesn't mean you can only spend that much on the total cost of players. Most payments are done in installments over multiple year, so 30M would mean you can spend that on the first installements of player costs. That being said 30M is obviously bullshit, we have more thanks to qualfying for the EL and player sales.

I know he wants Madrid, but submitting a transfer request that is a balanced price and is accepted while also offering similar price for Branthwaite is a great leverage move to say "this is what we have, furst one to accept will be the next Man United future centre back".
The multiple bids for multiple positions is really refreshing to see.

There are alot of factors that go into whether a player wants to join a club - and being the most keen and prompt with meeting your existing release clause is one of them.

He currently earns £5k a week at Lille. As much as anyone loves Real Madrid, to turn down what is likely £60k a week at Utd isnt straight forward.
Imagine working on minumum wage, and having your dream job tell you to stick it out for another year and they will hire you (nothing in writing, just their word), but in the meantime you get a different job offer, which is still a very very good job at an incredibly respected place, for a mega salary immediately.

I hope we can get Yoro. By all accounts he's a generational type talent. My concern about de Ligt is the physicality of the Premier league when he's shown to be injury prone. That being said, if United can put together 4-5 quality center backs, then these guys would be able to get rested and hopefully stay healthy.

Why would any club waste time going for a player who has no intention of signing for them, that was the Woodward/Glazers way of doing business. Take De Jong for example he was pretty clearly wanting to stay at Barca but the higher ups wasted so much time continuously trying to go for him.

I am liking us moving quickly, looks like our new board are not messing around and I am here for it. Think this might end the Branthwaite move, De Ligt and Yoro I would be happy with. Martinez, De Ligt, Yoro, Evans and Willy would be a solid group of defenders, all being well.
I want to see Maguire and Lindelof gone first, can't have them as options. I'd rather the 6th, 7th choice being academy player or versatile players from other areas of the team

@@salsabila786 - Agree but if players can see they have been replaced it may give them the encouragement to go. What we have done before is wait for sales before replacing and no incentive for players to leave.
@@dustinmccrindle343 we need a lb and Kerkez is the perfect choice for that, young, left footed, physical and athletic (which is rare nowadays), played in PL and stats fit.
LCB I like Lukeba but he won't be cheap so a youngster for future Soumaila Coulibaly from Dortmund, he was on loan at Antwerp last season and has physical attributes to succeed.

Certainly the type of player we want to be signing. And if we have to pay a high amount for a player to turn their head away from a big club that is performing compared to us as a big club that is not performing, this is the profile of player to do it over.
Ste, what are your thoughts understanding on whether we will stop chasing a right footed CB once we have one and focus on a left footer for the second. I think Yoro over De Ligt would be my preference. Is the De Ligt signing so far progressed that there’s no way we’re not going to look at other right footed CB for a second option? You’re giving me ‘I already know De Ligt is signing’ vibes.
Watch a lot of french football and im not too sure. From the french sources i see he is open to coming. From what i see madrid want him but not too badly. But if the guy from everton is raw he is even more so and still has to adjust to the Premier league

7-8 players at 30-60m each around 20-27yo is how you build a title winning squad. You cap that off with 1 or 2 marquee 100m signings and 1-2 academy graduates. For years United would spend entire windows going after that single marquee signing and end up settling for players with whatever was leftover, that is why we're at the state we're in. This is the biggest green flag from INEOS so far, shows we have an idea of what to do.
We should have spent 2013-18 building a good squad before adding Pogba and Maguire (or someone else for a similar price) instead we chased after targets, forgot about 6 of the 11 starting positions and overpaid for whatever was available. de Ligt is our main CB target, Everton demanded more for Branthwaitte and we've sent in a reasonable bid for Yoro already. And all of them at 40-50m. That's how a top club functions. Hopefully we overhaul the midfield in the same way, with Ugarte and another ball playing 6.

Really don't see what we have to gain from this? Yoro is twerking hard for Madrid and it seems they want him to wait a year so they can get him for free...so he will. We just look silly bidding for a player when we know he's desperate to go elsewhere and will turn us down.
