thank you for sharing. this makes sense. changed both up and down stream sensors, both o2 and still got the codes. Going to get the A/F sensor for Bank 1 and hope this solves the problem.
I went to a junkyard and went through like 10 civics until I found one with a nearly brand new denso one, didn't even have buildup on the end of it yet. $4 vs $250 at the auto parts store, maybe it won't last as long but I'm happy 😁
After seen your vidoe I finally fix my honda civic 2005 and Mechanic was gnna charged me 800 for the computer when it wasn't even that!! It was the Air Fuel sensor!!!
Installed the right sensors, still not fixing my problem. Replaced the airfuel sensor relay, did not fix my problem. Replaced every fuse related to ecu and fuel air sensor, still have the problem. Think I’ve narrowed it down to a bad ecu/pcm. So no, not putting in the right sensor fixes it, I’m still battling.
I appreciate this video I’ve been having issue with my 2000 Honda Civic lx Manuel Trasmisson now I’ve been dealing with miss fire for a min had spent a bit over 800$ on the car now that air fule senior I didn’t know anything about that an I’m going to try an switch that an see if that may work an I’m hopeing it does because I had put a 02 sensor for the top on an it didn’t look the same so I put it back how it was so ima try that an keep my fingers cross
Basically it was a parts buying problem. Whoever sold you the part in first place didn’t sell you correct part. Ie. A car either has an upstream a/f sensor OR an upstream o2 sensor. They are not backwards compatible. A car that needs your standard o2 sensor for upstream needs just that- a high quality OEM upstream o2 sensor. One that needs an A/F sensor likewise needs an OEM brand a/f sensor. So yes, wrong part = check engine light. Also, bad aftermarket part or crappy part = check engine light. Or putting an a/f sensor in a car that is designed for an o2 sensor and vice versa.
Can you gives us the link so we can also not have to worry about this problem. I have changed the upstream (before the catalic converter) and now P0134 came up again. May we have that link to get the air/fuel sensor you’re talking about? Did anyone find the product that works for their civic? And the problem finally went away?
Very informative thanks. May I please know what’s the part number of the o2 sensor so I’ll know I’m not getting just the same but instrad the air fuel sensor
I just changed the upstream for a code p0135 . That code went away. Po 134 popped up. I think I did what you did. Upstream is an air fuel sensor and downstream is an oxygen sensor correct? Thanks for the info!
Hey I would appreciate if you can provide a link to amazon where you purchased it from??? I have to buy it but I can’t find airfuel with this product number 2349005. Even auto zone says it says oxygen sensor..
That’s what I’ve been dealing with my old five and the O2 Oxsee downstream has been replaced twice once purchase through Amazon and the next time it was purchased during the Apple and it’s still failing.. no reconsidering I have to come across a video my next hopeful attempt would be that .. Thanks for your knowledge 👌
I appreciate you bro. I’m a mechanic and I was wondering why I was failing at my job 😂
Fyi dude
Its only 2004/2005 that has
A/F 02 SENSOR
2001 THRU 2003 USE REGULAR
02 SENSOR
UP OR DOWN
Thank you so much for this video! I was trying to figure out this issue for weeks 🤦🏾♂️
You got a new subscriber from this video alone.. I'm sure I speak for all wanna be shade tree mechanics we THANK YOU

Don’t forget to check the fuses under hood and inside cabin
Thank you very much for this. I had the same problem on my 2004 Honda Odyssey, There is a reason why OEM parts work.
You just saved us a real headache 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you thank you thank you. So grateful

Well played!

for the regular civic is a oxigen sensor for the ulev (under low emission vehicle) it use a air fuel ratio sensor
Thank you. They kept giving me the wrong one sensor and cel wouldn’t go away didn’t notice it was an af sensor not an o2z
Got the same code in my 04 civic & will try the af sensor change. Thanks 🙏
i have this problem as of now just replaced them both and still having problems in and out with i will try this hope it’s works !
thank you or the clarification. This is very useful info
Bro, thank you, you're a pimp i will just put both of those bad boy on an change the spark just to keep it running like a pro
Nice vid. Thx for the info👍🏾

1:36 yeah nice tip! keep doing that alottt with these ultra sensitive sensors and your car will get a lots of performance :D :D
Good Man!! thank you for the honesty
Thank you,nice advice 🙏

Brian Rosales did that resolve the issue I have the same exact car and issue?
Id also like an update on this.
Brian, what's the verdict
I read the manual and it says that 7th gen civics 2001-2003 used oxygen sensor and 2004-2005 air fuel.
Thanks for this vid bro! BIG HELP!
Your the best, thank you!!!

So if code is P0135 is it the downstream or upstream? Btw i got a 2005 honda civic lx 1.7
4 cylinder
what did you find the answer to be.@@TITOMANIA101
Yes I need the answer to I have a sensor right under the manifold/cat convert

Haha RIP, had a p0135 code and bought the o2 sensor and got the p0134 code right after… why didnt i see this earlier🤣
New sub thank you for the great tip
Did your car have a oil light come on and you had enough oil in it?
Thx so much !!!!
Thank you man really
Did you get hesitation while driving with the regular o2 sensor? Great video
Yes, the car feels like it’s misfiring and the error code persists. Thanks!
@@VincentStevenson yes i bought an 02 sensor before seeing your video. Im buying an air/fuel sensor this weekend.
Yeah, never idled smooth when i put on O2 sensor in
It worked thanks !
Is the oxygen sensor part number the same as the air/fuel sensor never got that??
What is the Denso part# of the O2 sensor that you compared with in this video?
They should had made a different connector to avoid this mix-up :(
Hey I would appreciate if you can provide a link to amazon where you purchased it from???
I have to buy it but I can’t find airfuel with this product number 2349005. Even auto zone says it says oxygen sensor..
Ima try it but like thay for like last 4 momths
Is it the same thing on civic 2006?
Do I have to reset the ecu after charging af censor ?
They both are 41$ at autozone
Not for the upstream sensor: www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/oxygen-sensor/denso-exact-fit-oxygen-sensor-234-9005/707683_0_0
@@BlackCubone yeah the denso are the best brand. I just got one recently 80-90
I'm listening
