2020 has been a tough year for many of us. I don't think many would have predicted what happened this time last year. Just a quick thank you message from me.
Honestly 2020 has been an amazing year for me. I finally got my home sorted out, finally got support for my autism, nobody made me leave the house! Merry Christmas :)
I got diagnosed with autism December 2019, then felt more relaxed. Then my girl friend died on the 14th february 2020, then to top it all this pestilence from China kicked in. So not a very good year for me. Had no support whatsoever for my autism. Not sure if it is anything to do with the pestilence pox from china.
@@verybigkittens7550 The charities around me have had to suspend a lot of their activities- but it's still been more than I've had in the past, which is zero. Now literally today I have finally had my care act assessment from the local authority and they're going to look at what they can put in place, so if you've not had any referral help following your diagnosis I would google your local authority care act assessment process and self-refer and ask them what support you can get from charities etc in the interim if you're really struggling.
@@verybigkittens7550 I see. Generally we (in the community) don't use labels like 'high/low functioning' any more, because they aren't very helpful. The concept of 'high functioning' generally applies to anyone who is verbal/has an IQ over 70, and doesn't actually give any sort of useful information about what support needs we may have or how much we have to mask to get by in a world set up by and for neurotypical people. I'm intelligent so I would be considered high functioning, but I struggle to eat properly, fulfil basic needs tasks and can't manage a job- which I would barely consider 'functioning' let alone high functioning. Autism is a spectrum of different neurodiversity with a huge range of different support needs/abilities- it can't be distilled in to 'high' or 'low' functioning based purely on whether a person is able to speak, express their needs or cope in certain environments, because they may be unable to do other tasks or cope in other situations neurotypical people don't even have to think about.
Merry christmas to you too! have a wonderful year.
Subbed to you a few years back from that space video, and have enjoyed your Christmas videos each year. Merry Christmas from Canada 🎅🇨🇦
Merry Christmas bro Happy New Year too.
