    Honestly been saying this since 90s when I became a firefighter. The moment I saw California steady lights, I was blown away. I also noticed that blue lights were more calming. Amber/Red/Clear flashing lights are blinding and hard NOT to stare at. This new technology is amazing.

    Finally this issue is being addressed in U.S. emergency lighting. I wish states would introduce laws to limit the amount of lights and type of flash patterns emergency vehicles have. We went from 1 beacon to Christmas tree strobing on police cars and fire trucks that blind and paralyze drivers on roads, especially on highways at night.

      @@baddriversofthenorcalarea500 Then we have the moth effect, though. DUI drivers are attracted to busy patterns on the side of the road. After a certain point, it's more hazardous to go overboard. CHP figured it out years ago with simple, alternating patterns.

    • @RyanCunningham12
      @RyanCunningham12 4 роки тому +2

      Exactly, in Europe there are far less collisions with Police and apparatus vehicles. They figured out that you don't need 150 lights to get people to pull over. Most Americans will pull over for grill lights and a deck light. I think we could just go with a lightbar and some side warning on the pushbumper. No need for a big lightstrip below the door.

    • @Rummeltobi
      @Rummeltobi 4 роки тому

      @@RyanCunningham12 Europe seems to have more issues and crashes due to the lack of bright and many lights. Good luck checking the reports and statistics of more than 25 countries in 25 different languages. If there even are statistics available which is another issue.

    Here in the UK, I always get annoyed at night that emergency services never or hardly ever use LOW POWER mode to dim the light heads. You just can't bloody see past them, so dangerous. I use a Liberty LED bar on my truck and have low power (violet) input wired to the side lights with an override should the lights be on in poor visibility during the day. Hopefully Woodway (Whelen's UK brother) also have this available.

    • @codrru415
      @codrru415 3 роки тому +2

      problematically, it is not a designers right to infer what is required. A "dealer" sells a department on vehicle upgrades and from there the department decides on necessity based on spending. Id Est, district 15 has decided that their budget doesn't or cannot quantify the necessity for this core system due to financial, or otherwise constraints.

  • @will54981
    @will54981 3 роки тому +2

    I mean it's a pretty awesome concept but I can see a few flaws with it right off the line..
    The vehicle to vehicle sync won't always work. After a pursuit, police cars are gonna be scattered over the place whether it be on or off of the road with one or more departments/ counties.
    I like the lighting, but people aren't used to slowly sliding lights. They're used to flashing lights, which would directly connect to a fire truck, police car, ambulance, tow truck or security car. If someone seen that they possibly would think it's a road sign or a club sign or something of that sorts. If it were up to me, I'd just keep the lights flashing but dim them to a safe wattage when the driver's door is opened.

    The only thing, people don't see first responders and we get killed because people don't look! Before retirement, I always kept the light on so that people will pass us and not approach us, they seem to get out of the way when all the lights are on! My career started in the early 90',s and lights on Emergency vehicle have also changed a lot. I just hope this new way of doing things is safe to all the first responders out there! Our lives matter too! Do what is best for the people on scene and not what is convenient for the passer byers! Be blessed 🙏❤️🇺🇸💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔🚔

    Cop cars at night suck honestly It’s a distraction I wish the Delaware state police would switch to the cencom core instead of the federal signal valor bar they have. Nothing against federal signal but this system would enhance their cars a lot and help with a lot of distractions on major roads

    this is stupid the whole point of the faster patterns is making people slow down. the slower pattern is just going to tell people to keep goign but the faster patterns blind you and force you to slow down
