How to PROPAGATE succulents | Propagating Succulents from STEM
For more info on succulent water propagation visit: moodybloomsco.com/succulent-w...
Beheading succulents can be scary at first. Once you get the hang of it you will be a pro at succulent propagation.
Grab some pruning shears that are sharp and clean. Make a cut on the stem at the length you want. Remove any lower leaves from the cutting to prepare it for water or soil.
Allow the offset to dry out for 3-5 days so that the ends callous over. Plant the offset in well-draining soil in a pot with a drainage hole. As an option, you may want to dip the end in a rooting hormone to speed up root production.
You may also fill a jar with water and place the rosette in water to propagate. Place the pot or jar in a location with bright indirect sunlight and water as needed.

That's great advice Mary Ellen. It always seems hard to cut them like that but it pays off in the end. I love the time lapse showing the roots growing down. Thanks for sharing. Take care. ☺

Perfect timing! I have a few succulents that need this and was probably going to be a bit less delicate.

I've been collecting succulent leaves and storing in a bag with potting soil.
I will try a tray with the vermiculite mix on top as you demonstrated in another video.
Would love to be a succulent farmer. I grab cutting whenever I visit my family in Southern California. I will see if I can keep them happy in cold Pennsylvania using indoor lighting in the winter. Thanks!

I am so glad you were able to get some cuttings/leaves. We are so spoiled here being able to grow them year round. Best of luck to your succulent babies!
