My daughter loves her binky! She is 3 1/2... She only gets it during naps and bedtime. I feel like I should get rid of it soon but it just makes her so happy and I know she’ll be so sad to lose it. I just can’t do it yet! 😬

Girl, give him his dang binky! Mommas gotta do what mommas gotta do to. It really isn’t the end of the world at all. My oldest loved her binky & we weren’t able to successfully take it from her at bedtime/nap until she was 3! Three! And now she’s 7 & goes to sleep just fine without her binky.

We only decided a few months ago to try taking the dummy off our son and he was just shy of 3.5years.....people were always commenting on his dummy but he just needed a little extra comfort and so I have always been guided by my kids and their needs. But because he was old enough to understand the reason why we were throwing it out, he wasn’t upset and just was like “okay......night night”
And yeah, you will totes get negative comments but pfft, you know there’s an army of us who will back you up and support you. Those of us who are parents need to support each other. We are all doing the best we can and if giving Lincoln his dummy means better naps, then I am with you!!

Megoonie Yeah it’s a bit of a weird name isn’t it!! Haha. I’m sure there are other families who use different names.....but for the most part we use Dummy. Have a fab day!
Amen! Your response is what I was thinking. My daughter called her pacifier a wawa. Her son calls his a baba. I think different people have different names. If Lincoln needs his to get used to his bed, that’s up to you. You’re a great mom and you know what’s best for your children.

Aurielle missing the point much? Sure I put my kids bed against the wall but that’s my decision. People need to treat social media like they would talking to someone in person. When my oldest was 2.5 he got a baby brother then he was potty trained and after two months started school sooo taking away the pacifier was out of the question!He gave it up at 3.5 and the pacifier fairy brought him a present..Each child and each family have their own needs.

I think that Lincoln with the binki is fine once in a while, which I’m sure is what you allow anyways, because his teeth aren’t sticking out straight because of them. I would try and take it away before he depends on it to sleep though

To be honest, I normally judge parenting ways a lot sometimes but I honestly didn't when you gave Lincoln the binky. I can understand how you just want the transition to be successful and I can see myself doing the same to help. Don't worry about what everyone is going to say. You're an amazing mom!
I dont judge about the binkie .. but .. she is slipping by telling the children off ''do NOT get off your bed, do you notice Ellie and Jared never ever ever discipline at all on camera .. they only ever show happy times ... there should be NO telling them off at all , not calling him naughty on camera .. although i dont think it was mean i think its the same kinda stuff youtube want to keep off

My daughter kyrsten was 2 1/2 when we took her binky from her, mostly because she was chewing the nippy off. And I was afraid she would choke. But she was in her big girl bed, I don't know if it's a good thing to take to many things away all together like that, it may scar your child for life. So props for comprising with him, it shows him that you are willing to go half way with him. And NO SCARING HIM FOR LIFE,😁

Bonnie and Joel, your vlogs are the first thing I watch every morning... and then I watch them again at night, I just can't get enough! There are days where(I know this is weird) but there ARE days where I'm like "dang can you be my parents?!" Haha. I.e. Never had a good relationship with either of my parents, and recently I told my mom who is baptist that I wanted to learn more about the Mormon religion and might want to become a Mormon. She flipped out on me and it was very heart breaking. I would love to talk to you about it and how I feel about it but I know that would probably be against your privacy.

I can't stress this enough but I freak'n love Lincoln! Him falling out of bed made me laugh. He reminds me of my son Patric who is 2 and baby #4 of 5. A cute, mischievous, darling little boy. FYI if my son took a paci I would totally give it to him if it meant he would stay in bed and take a nap. I love you guys and try not to let the negative trolls tear you down.
