Honestly fucking respect to Blaze for kicking off. He may not have been Maidens best singer but he was a hard working decent bloke who always did his best for the band.
In my opinion he is/was very underrated. You can't compare two different persons or singers. Bruce and Blaze are two different singers and humans. I really like Blaze's feeling and emotion to his singing. And Blaze sings very introverted and from his inner. Just saw the concert of this asshole who spit Steve Harris in his face. Was an awesome setlist and gig.
I personally love the Blaze era just as much as any other era. He's a very good vocalist in his own right. I also love albums like Silicon Messiah and Tenth Dimension.
For anyone wondering why someone would spit on Blaze or Steve, this was a concert in Chile in 1996. During that time, there was this horrible trend to spit the artists on stage, from whatever reason. Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, Faith no More and Sepultura - among many others - where covered in saliva during presentations. Most of the bands were shocked or just ignore and try to go with the show. But I recall that Maiden was the first band to actually address the situation on stage and ask for a total beatdown for the guys that were spitting.
Steve is a living legend but Bruce should never left Iron Maiden. Glad that Bruce returned to the band , that incident prove that anything can happen in a live show
You clearly don't know what you are talking about. Tensions were rising between Steve & Bruce and things would have spiralled out of control sooner rather than later. Nothing personal.
@@emankcin1701 also it was a good decision for Bruce, his voice was fucked towards the end of his first stint. Listen to A Real Dead One, it's painful on some tracks, especially Hallowed Be They Name. The break did him good.
@@zombiemosher1139 Yes, he's schedule was much more loose than in Maiden and the songs probably a few less demanding for his voice (and he took singing lessons in the mid nineties). And to conclude he was mentally exhausted with Maiden and the same routines month after month. Now matter how much money you make you are nothing without mental stability and well being.
I'm not sure about this "fact", but this spittin thing, in Chile, was kinda Mike Patton's fault, at least he used to make this "spit me" pose against the public, and for some stupid reason, the crowd began to do it with any artists. But again, I'm not really sure about this
Is not like that. The spitting thing began in the early days of thrash metal in chile, we are talking about year 1984, 85. It was very common to spit a thrash or metal band, if they like them they spit them, if they didn't like them they spit them even more! (bottles thrown to the stage was common too) There was a chilean thrash metal band called Pentagram that in year 1988 was dissolved for the constant spitting the received in his concerts. May be the reason of this is that the youth of that time was very repressed by the dictatorship. Fortunately, this habit ended long time ago.
I actually think that's exactly what it is. This show particularly was really bad for Blaze. He could barely hit the notes and he simply didn't have the power to carry the songs like Bruce. I tried watching parts of it but I am sorry to say this but he made a mockery out of the Bruce era songs.. lol.. Some of it was pretty horrible. Could be he was having a bad night!
Spat. You spit on someone. They spat on you, past tense. Two different words. Yes I'm English. Bugs the shit out of me! Anyway, out of order behaviour though towards legends like Maiden.

@@tryingggg1251 My point is that you said that you would prefer another one from the band yelling at the guy when you can clearly see that they are saying the same thing as Blaze, i.e, if the microphone was in the hand of anyone there we would hear the same phrase "kill him ". listen to the Italian Horror/A Real Spit One bootleg, Bruce can go off on a heckler like this too (and it also demonstrates the wear on his voice)
