We're all guilty of letting our collection of video games pile up over the videos and eventually result in a hefty backlog, and this video aims to showcase just how vast my rabbit hole of a library is.
All content of this video is copyright of their respectful owners & no copyright infringement is intended!

You're right about this man. My backlog ain't going to get any bigger and much of it is devoted to all things, RPGs especially JRPGs. They are my comfort food. I would spend hours upon hours playing them without a care in the world. Trust me.
But man I had no idea your backlog is that huge. My word.
Yeah it's a monster and glad that you enjoyed RPG's so much, they can be such a wonderful time sink.
A backlog is far scarier than any horror game ever made.
Yep, because you can never beat the backlog!
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 I think I could beat Mr. X in real life before my Backlog.
As a Disgaea fan, I must warn you that Disgaea 1 has first game syndrome. It suffers from a lot of problems, but it's still good. One thing to note. While some characters start off as assholes, just give it time. They can grow on you.
I see, well at the very least there's nowhere else to go but up after playing the first game so I look forward to it.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 And don't kill your allies! If you kill just ONE of your allies in the first Disgaea, that gives you the bad ending.
Now that's some serious Permadeath.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 he means directly, Disgaea has Friendly Fire. *Enemies* killing your units is fine.
This is a truly amazing video!! And damn that’s a huge backlog to catch up on XD
Thanks for the mentions Lewis! Looking forward to your opinions on the games I recommended!
Thank you ever so much Silver and I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for contributing to said backlog log lol, I'm certain the games you recommended are gonna be an amazing time.
On the topic of Tales, if you can find a physical copy of it for the 3DS, I recommend getting Tales of the Abyss. It's considered one of, if not THE best Tales game in the franchise.
It was also originally for the PS2, but good luck both FINDING a copy and getting it at less than a fortune (Yes, it's THAT rare.). So, the 3DS is your best bet for playing it.
Gotcha I'll keep and eye out for the 3DS version
Ah man, Tales of the Abyss, the first Tales of game I ever owned and beaten. Can be rough at the start because of a certain someone's beginning personality, but definitely worth it after getting over his annoying phase.
This is one heck of a backlog list, kudos for assembling this. Of all the games mentioned, I highly recommend Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Sky, I played that game so many times and I absolutely loved it.
Thank you and yeah everyone mentions how GOATED the mystery dungeon games are.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explores of Time/Darkness/Sky are probably one of, if not THE best Pokemon game from a narrative perspective, from beginning to end, the main narrative is fantastic and the characters have so much charm and it is one of only 3 games I've ever played that made me super emotional. From a gameplay standpoint it's standard rouge-like gameplay where every floor in each dungeon is randomized, which in turn will make the adventure a personalized experience. 10/10 highly recommend. And yes, Explorers of Time is not the definitive version, that would be Explores of Sky.
Also sidenote, this is also the game that I think was given one of the worst IGN reviews mainly due the person reviewing it couldn't get past the fifth level, thus giving the game a 4/10.
Sounds like an IGN review alright and glad to hear that Mystery dungeon explores of Sky/Time are so incredible.
A couple of games mentioned here are in my backlog as well. Such as FF15 and Dragon Age Inquisition.
On a side note, you seem to love Gundam as much as Fire Emblem. Wouldn't mind seeing a Gundam video in the near future.
I do indeed love Gundam a lot, not sure as much as FE but I may do a Gundam specific video in the future once I've covered a larger assortment of Gundam anime series/OVA's
So, I’ve played quite a few of these, so I’ll throw my two cents in. Forgive me if this goes on too long😅:
-Sonic Rush: It is really good, it’s fast paced and the there’s enough differences between Sonic and Blaze’s gameplay that makes it worth it. Only issue is the button mashing during one particular boss fight (if you know, you know.)
-Sonic Rush Adventure: This is childhood favourite of mine and is very underrated. Levels are diverse and bosses are solid. However getting the true ending will require patience.
-Sonic Colours DS: It’s good, very reminiscent of the Rush games. But some objectives are tied to tight time limits.
-Sonic Riders Zero Gravity: it’s basically Sonic Free Riders with functional motion controls. It is similar to the first riders game but the gameplay is more refined.
-The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: I adore this game. The open world is full of things to find and the side content is good. The champions abilities add a lot to the experience.
- Super Mario 3D World: it’s a solid experience. Feels like a mix between Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
-Sonic Frontiers: Bosses are incredible, some of the best Super Sonic fights in the series. The mini bosses in the over world are varied and great. Really enjoyed this one.
-Uncharted: One of my favourite franchises. Uncharted one is rough around the edges but two and three are incredible.
-Shadow of the Tomb Raider: I stopped halfway through as I couldn’t get behind it. It didn’t feel as solid as the 2013 game and rise.
-The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks: Underrated AF. I enjoyed this one although the pan flute controls can be a bit janky.
-Resident Evil 4 Remake: It’s Resi 4 but better. Shame that all the camp was removed. But hey, at least Ashley is tolerable now.
-Child of Light: it’s combat system is very unique. You and your opponent are put on a timeline, two v two. Everything you do affects how fast you move across the timeline as the timeline decides who attacks first. There’s quite a bit of customisation for you and your party to take advantage of and the story is tragic yet fantastic.
-Horizon Zero Dawn: it’s solid but that last boss in the main campaign is an ass.
-Mario and Rabbids Kingdom battle: It really good and can get surprisingly challenging towards the end. It’s humour is on point though.
-Bioshock: If you like a game with good atmosphere, you’ll like this one. The atmosphere is heavy and never leaves.
-Mass Effect: the trilogy is fantastic. The first game is great and full of content, even if the UI is terrible. Two and three are the same with better gameplay. I always recommend legendary edition since all the DLC is in the game by default.
-Resident Evil Revelations 2: It’s revelations one but better, with a hint of RE4 in there too.
-Telltales the walking dead: you can never be prepared for that ending.
Sorry again for rambling on. I will say that backlog of yours is full of great games.
Thanks very much for all the feedback and notes about each game I really appreciate it, so by all mean ramble away it seems like based on what you've said I have much to look forward to.
Nintendo Gamecube tips
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door-I can understand wanting a different perspective but honestly play the remake. That's what I'll be doing for this massive RPG.
Tales of Symphonia-Good thing I didn't play the switch port of this massive RPG. If you want to play a tales game I suggest starting with this one.
Baten Kaitos-Another massive RPG that's also on my backlog. Although I have the switch port I think you'll be okay playing this version too.
Eternal Darkness-Finally a game that can be played in short bursts. While I have no interest in playing it since it's a horror game, I wish you good luck.
Resident Evil-Now here's a game that could be possibly beaten in an afternoon. I hope you enjoy it.
Star Fox Assault-Another short burst game that I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Star Wars Rogue Leader-This game was the only one I didn't hear anything about but I believe it's a short burst game too.
Spiderman 2-This one will either be a massive one or a short experience, depends if you want to go for 100% (in my opinion don't, your backlog is larger than mine)
Viewtiful Joe 2-The final game for the gamecube will be a short burst one. Also look forward to faster load times. Have fun!
The feeling of having a backlog is one i utterly detest so i feel your pain, IMMENSELY! And this is coming from a guy who deals almost exclusively with Physical games, ironically enough. That said! I can give a few tips about the games that i'm familiar with.
Sonic rush and sonic rush adventure: Both solid games in general. I don't think i have to explain very much about how they work, but i will let you know right off the bat: If you want to get to the true final bosses of both games, you're going to have to find both the Chaos and Sol emeralds. Generally, the sol emeralds are the easier of the two sets to get, as in rush and rush adventure, you just get the gems by beating certain bosses (though in adventure you WILL have to pick 'em up via the mission list), but if you're familiar with 2d sonic, then they'll both be VERY easy to get. Just be aware of certain quick-time events in rush and the touch screen controls for the various boats and jetskis in adventure, you're gonna need good hand eye coordination to get through 'em. Especially the latter.
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity: I'll just outright say it, if you like Mario Kart 8, you'll probably like this one. This is the game that introduced the Gear change system, which lets you spend rings you find on the course to upgrade your BTTF hoverboard mid-race, and believe you me, you're gonna need it! The gravity controls in this game are purely manual, with a sort of drift button that throws the whole game into slow motion so you can do a fast turn in one direction, or orient yourself to specially marked walls to go along them for a shortcut, and while you do get what is essentially a on-demand boost button, it's better generally to save it for long straights, and the gravity bar itself for wall-riding esque sections. Also, while the motion controls aren't that bad (i personally can handle them pretty well), i would generally recommend a controller like a nintendo gamecube controller. Admittedly the story is nothing to really speak of, but it is necessary if you want to unlock everything, especially the alternate tracks and the REST of the roster. In general though, DEFINITELY a better experience than the original riders (which i only have fleeting memories of playing in the grocery store nursery on the gamecube unfortunately). And MERCIFULLY, the tutorial makes things a lot more clear.
Astral chain: Not sure how familiar you are with the game Bayonetta Origins (though given your statements, you probably are), but if you're familiar with that game, then you're probably already going to be an utter PRO at managing the game's "One controller, two characters" type deal. The gameplay is your standard platinum faire, but it's actually surprisingly simpler than most. That said, should you plan to tackle this game, USE A PRO CONTROLLER OR SIMILAR! The game does support local co-op, via the joy-cons, but you're safer using a standard controller just in case. That said, once you get used to the controls, BE READY TO BRING YOUR PURE PLATINUM GAME because this game can get downright ***BRUTAL*** if you're unprepared. Plus, there's a LOT to collect if you plan to go for 100%. If you like the game though, then i HIGHLY recommend it. Definitely at least give it a try, though. If nothing else.
SMTV: I'll get it out of the way here: If you want a GOOD experience with this game, get Vengeance. It's practically the definitive version of the game as it comes with a *Lot* of improvements to the original game. SMTV by itself is OK, but the only real beneficiary that comes from the original game now is the ability to use demons (think personas from that sub-series) from that game's compendium that you've already pre-procured. And even then, it's only 3. Flat out, just get Vengeance. It already comes with the original game, which is fun from a gameplay standpoint, but honestly the story is definitely its weakest point. The so-called Canon of vengeance definitely seems like quite a bit of fun though, so i can safely say that.
Luigi's mansion 2: Dark moon: Personally, i've got this one on the switch, but i can TELL just from the brief bit i've played of it that this was a game made for the 3DS. It isn't that bad, but it certainly feels a bit janky... then again that may be because this one's ALSO a recent addition to my backlog, not to mention it being my first luigi's mansion game period. Its certainly a decent enough game, though, even if it can be considered a little weak.
Spyro Reignited: Admittedly, this one's a switch game for me too, but even if i've only played the 1st one (the other two are on my backlog...) i can definitely recommend them. Definitely good if you enjoy 3d platformers, which you seem to have made VERY clear.
Tales of Vesperia: Personally, not a fan of this one, DO NOT GET ME WRONG, it's a fun game, but i personally don't really seem to jell with this game, perhaps i'm just not good at it, but MAN do i feel bad for not liking this, cause apparently this is really good...
Assassin's creed 2: Definitely one of the best assassin's creed games. Its a pretty good stepping-in point for the series and i will at least recommend the other two games in the Ezio trilogy. Those being Brotherhood and Revelations. Similarly, i also HIGHLY recommend black flag, that game is a VERY fun time, if mostly because of its naval combat... the jackdaw is a JOY to sail, and just, wow is it good!
Arkham origins: Personally, i recommend it. It's your bog standard arkham game, but for what it is, it's pretty decent. Up to you how far you enjoy it, but hey. If it works, it works.
Lego batman: DEFINITELY play it, it's fun and fairly easy to 100%. These games are mainly for kids after all.
Sonic Mania Plus: I personally recommend getting the Plus DLC, but ultimately, that's up to you. Definitely VERY fun, though. Instant reccommend if you like classic sonic.
I apologize PROFUSELY for the wall of text, but i just... have a LOT to say lol. Hopefully these give you some nuggets of wisdom for these games, sorry again for the wall of text, but if you enjoy any of these and i helped out, i'm happy. Good luck clearing that backlog out though!
Oh yeah, almost forgot Sonic frontiers. PLAY IT ASAP! Best 3d sonic game i've played, and the super sonic fights are awesome! they're practically platinum games bosses in terms of scope! Plus, the continuity callbacks are off the charts courtesy of one of the IDW comic writers being one of the main writers for the script, to my knowledge anyway.
No need to apologize I appreciate all the feedback regarding the games you've played, especially when it comes to SMTV. Glad to hear that most of the games you listed are pretty good and yeah I'll have to really focus on getting through Frontiers above the other games.
Oh no kidding! That said, if you're also looking for recommendations for games, seeing as you like Viewtiful Joe so much, may i recommend another platinum game? It's called "The Wonderful 101", it was actually originally a Wii U game, but it got a remake/remaster courtesy of a kickstarter awhile back that ported it over to Playstation, Switch, and Steam. It's got a lot of fun stuff in it, and the whole thing is pretty much a joyride from start to finish, akin to Bayonetta. It was even made by the same guy who made Viewtiful joe in the first place, Hideo Kojima. Also, the bosses in that game are arguably some of Platinum's best! At least in my personal opinion. It's a wild ride, from start to finish, and i *Highly* recommend it.
Oh I've already played and beaten the Wonderful 101 (Wii U version) and it is a lot of fun.
A backlog? THE HORROR! THE HORROR!
Switch tips
Astral Chain-Like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry, this title can be finished in short bursts
Bayonetta 3-Ah speaking of! Yeah I wasn't a fan of the story but gameplay is great and it's great that it's being featured on twitch
Bravely Default II-Another massive game that thankfully doesn't need the other two games to beat. Something to look forward to for twitch people
Triangle Strategy-A second massive game and believe it or not, during walls of text, I've heard someone does thier morning/evening routines
Daemon X Machina-Here we have another mecha game that can be beaten in some short bursts
Shin Megami Tensei V-You should get the director's cut edition but this game is enough of a massive time synch already
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Editions-You remember me mentioning several times not to play the older ones in favor of the new ones. Well I never scratch that itch for this game. It's a shame that this game is so big at the same time though...
Final Fantasy VII-Yeah this game will take a while. Just like XV
Cuphead-Prepare for many frustrations and deaths but it should take about a couple of streams to finish both it and the DLC
Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero-I liked this game and while Pirate's Curse is better, this game's short bursts are fun
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2-Like megaman a few short bursts can get you through this game
Shadow Dragon-Honestly I played the remake and it is enough for me. Plus it's a massive time synch
Dark Deity-A game like fire emblem is going to be big
Langrisser series-Two more FE-likes are going to be a large time synch
Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle-While it is a massive game, it can be played in short bursts thanks to its mission structure
F-Zero 99-Be sure to play this when you can because we don't know if will fall off free shelves. You can even stream it for a bit.
Va11halla-This should be a short burst game from what I've heard
Rune Factory 4-I tried the first game and it didn't land with me but it'll be a time synch for sure
UNO-Well I have Catan on my switch so Uno shouldn't be a surprise. A stream should get people involved or a short burst.
Wii U tips
Darksiders 2-Wow a dark one that can be played in small bursts... honestly wait until you've finished the first one
Breath of the Wild-This one will be a massive game but it is worth it. I prefer the switch port but you have your title
Pikmin 3-A game that can be played in short bursts and it's a reboot of 1 done well.
Super Mario 3D World-Another short burst game that I enjoyed, especially for the final boss which I won't spoil
Tokyo Mirage Sessions-Yeah this is a time synch and honestly takes more from the SMT side rather than the FE side. I would suggest it for the massive side but you have it as twitch so my hands are tied
Castlevania Circle of the Moon-Not a bad game and while I do want to play it next, the fight with death scares me.
Golden Sun 1&2-Also on my backlog but they're massive games so I'll play them later
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga-While it is an RPG it's a short burst game because of it's small levels
Drill Dozer-I heard rumors of this game but never saw it. It should be a short burst game that can be finished quickly
Advance Wars 2 & Dual Strike-These tactics games are huge so they'll need a massive time synch
Explorer's of Sky-Like I mentioned before play Time first before this game as it's massive
Pokemon Ranger-This game's on the shorter side so short bursts are the way to go
Spirit Tracks-Small bursts can get you around this large but fantastic game
Kirby Mass Attack-It's supposed to be another short game that you can play in bursts but it is the most difficult out of the series
Kirby's Return to Dreamland-Another short burst game with a way to play coop easily
Beat the Beat-Should be another short game that can burst into life
A Shadow's Tale-Now this game you actually recommended to me and I finished it as soon as I could. It can be played in short bursts and needs to be 100% complete for the true ending
Pikmin 2-This game can be fun but it's hard and not for it's lack of time contraints. That said short bursts are the way to go.
Bomberman 64-Now this game can be played in short bursts but they will be for longer than you likely expect but the game is good, just like CJ says
Steam tips Well this is going to take a while and why I split up the comments in the first place
Assassin's Creed 2-It is a large game but it can be handled in short bursts
Prince of Persia-This game isn't too great but does have it's moments. That being said it can be played in short bursts
Batman Arkham Origins-Here we have a short burst game but the plot falls down halfway through
Bioshock series-Now here's a game series to play on twitch. It would take a few sessions but it could be done!
Borderlands series-First and third games are okay while two is fantastic story wise. Thankfully some short bursts can help you finish off this series quickly
Darksiders-Unless you want the harvester from Vulgrim, I'd say stick with the original. And play this before Darksiders 2. At least it'll be in short bursts
Dead Space-Here we have a game that can be completed in a day (or a stream if you prefer)
Lords of Shadow series-Another set of games that can be played in short bursts much like Darksiders. And I'd say half a game per stream works here
Dragon's Dogma-Now here's a game I know only through it's final boss. While it's long it's rewarding but it is a time synch.
Halo 4 & Reach-I'd suggest playing Reach first as 4 is a good conclusion to the series that can be played in bunches
Lego Batman the game-Well this should be a quick run-through
Mass Effect trilogy-These games are time synchs as well but they should be a great adventure if Inquisition is anything to go by
Mortal Kombat 9-A fighting game that is actually a long game to play in single player... go figure...
Ori & the Blind Forest-It's a beautiful metroidvania that you do not want to get all the achievements for... trust me...
Resident Evil Revelations 2-Well this should be a quick game to get through
Tales of Berseria-Basically Zesteria's setting but better. But it will take a massive amount of time.
The Walking Dead-You should be able to finish all of the seasons within a few days
Huniepop-Well hopefully you can finish this game quickly because it only takes 10 hours or so
Mirror-Here's another quick game to breeze through, and it's shorter than Huniepop
Pizza tower-Here we are again. Well you like Warioland so thankfully this is a short trip with small bursts
Trails of the Sky-Great! I would play this before the first three but just like them it's a large time synch
Skyborn-So here we have the shortest fire emblem-like ever. Should be a speedy playthrough
Ghost 1.0-Yeah a metroidvania would do it and it would also take a while to beat
Heroines of Swords & Spells-Yeah this will take quite a bit of time so I'm putting it in the massive category
La-Mulana-Well this game is an interesting one but it'll be put in the massive category
Momodora-Well here's something I didn't expect, a metroidvania that's only 5 hours long?!
Timespinner-Here we have a metroidvania that I actually beat. It took several hours though but it's good enough to go into the short burst section
Astebreed-Being a mecha game this is really short but should be fun
Axiom Verge-Here's another metroidvania I beat and it's in the short burst section. Neat!
Bastion-I actually finished this game recently and it was fun. It's also short which I believe everyone should appreciate
Cave Story+-Here's the game that got the indie game market rolling. And it's short too which is wonderful
Celeste-While the game is short, it's sections are long so don't get mad if some paths take you a while
Dust an Elysian Tale-Now here we have a great game that balances quite a bit. And it's also on the short side with only four bosses (albiet only the last one is considered good)
Freedom Planet-I haven't beaten this game yet but it's a lot of fun and short as well
Guacamelee-Only play the super turbo deluxe edition as it's the complete game. Also it's pretty short and GS loves this game. See his playthrough if you have trouble.
Blasphemous-Just like last time it's a good game with spanish church icanography and GS has a playthrough on his channel if you need help
Danganronpa-Yeah the fans of this game are nuts but thankfully I am caught up and won't spoil what happens. It is a bit of a grind though and I compare it to phoenix wright
Disco Elysium-Basically a mystery game with DnD elements. If you want just to play it through once I recommend it.
Doki Doki Literature club-I'd say try to finish it. There's a twist halfway through that makes you understand why this is a horror game too
DOOM series-Thankfully these games are quick to play through in short bursts (Eternal will take a larger amount of time though)
Ducktales Remastered-This game is short but the NES version was actually shorter
A Hat in Time-Another short game but with more meat on it's bones. Should be a fun time.
Hollow Knight-This game I haven't beaten because of a single boss and while it will take a while, it should be good time on twitch
Icey-Another very short game here
Mighty Switch Force-Here is another very short game that should be fun given that it made it's way into 1/2 genie hero at one point
Outer Wilds-Should be a good experience for you and it's a decent length too. Should take about a week to complete
Rune Factory 5-This one will be a time synch much like RF 4
RWBY:Grimm Eclipse-Another really short game for you and I've actually only seen the first two seasons of RWBY
Skullgirls-Another fighting game so short bursts are in order here
Sonic Mania-It should be a quick experience (no pun intended) but a fun one nontheless. Also it's up to you whether you want to play the original or get the plus version
Stein's Gate-Here we have another visual novel and like phoenix wright it'll take a while to complete
Strider-Here we have a quick metroidvania much like Momodora
Super Meat Boy-Should be a long time to complete because of it's difficulty. Thankfully this is the pinnacle of the short burst game
Tron 2.0-A decently sized game that should be fun given how you seem to love TRON (look forward to KHII then)
Umineko-Well this game is a monster in length, into the massive pile it goes
As for Thracia... yeah it can wait until a dent into the backlog is made (although the extra playthroughs of fire emblem games can wait until the backlog is taken down some pegs)
Here's hoping my advice helps Blazing Knight!
Quite a lot of good games in your backlog. Some I also need to get to (Tales of games especially, but I have beaten Zestiria, Abyss, and Arise). As for what I know about the games you listed:
Persona 3 FES: it's also on my backlog, but I do know some things about how it compares to the other versions. This game does have exclusive story content that is not available in Portable or the Remake (yeah, the remake decided to only go with what was in base game 3, making so many Persona 3 fans upset). Highly rated version from anyone I have talked to, so you should have a fun time.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers: Oh man my childhood! I have played Darkness and Sky on the Wii U, so I do know how they both compare. The original Time/Darkness is still good, just they added side stories, extra dungeons, etc to Sky. This one has the best story out of the mystery dungeon games (some would even say compared to mainline Pokemon). It gets dark, but still hopeful and lighthearted. Definitely recommend.
Pokemon Ranger: Ah, the first ranger game. I had fun drawing the circles, but definitely is the first game of that style of gameplay, so some things are rough compared to the fixes later on.
Also the reason why sometimes I can't look at Charizard without trauma.
Sonic Rush: Ah yeah, such a fun game (boss fights aside). You definitely have to listen to the soundtrack (though not in game, you'll likely not hear it that well over Sonic and Blaze constantly shouting during tricks XD). I love Blaze the Cat's introduction, and it makes people so confused about why they changed her backstory 1 game later for Sonic 06, only to then bring it back for Rush Adventures.
Tales of games (I'll just make this a big category)
Symphonia is definitely a classic, but do take into mind that this is the first game that had 3D gameplay. Also, if you get invested in side plots, or want to get every title, many of them are permanently missable, so maybe go back to towns you been to between sections
Vesperia is interesting, as it's either one of your favourites, or you have much more complicated feelings about. I have started this one, and people do say that this is one of the strongest casts in the Tales of series. Some people do put this game over Symphonia, and argue that it's the best Tales of game (A fierce debate of Symphonia/Abyss/Vesperia/Berseria/Arise)
Zestiria is... definitely controversial, due to something that happens 1/3 of the way into the game that made many upset. Not as good of a story (though it connects with Berseria, in a pretty cool way, with neither needing to be played before the other). I like Zestiria, but I can see why some don't.
Berseria is definitely a fan favourite, and tried to experiment from the normal Tales of style. Great story, dives into history of Zestiria without needing to play Zestiria first, so you still understand what's going on. I think every tales of fan would definitely recommend.
Devil May Cry series: Ah, this classic. I recently went through Devil May Cry 1 again recently, and I still had a fun time. But yeah, the odd number Devil May Cry games are good ways of jumping in (4 assumes you played 3, so it can be hard). 1 can be a fun time if you keep in mind that it was originally meant to be a resident evil game, 3 brought in the fun personality and style switching mechanic, and 5, well 5 is just amazing fun and a good return after DMC's.... divisive reception, I can say that safely.
Man, that's a lot of text. Nothing compared to if you had said Live A Live, as I could probably write an essay on that game XD.
I do people who gush a lot about Live A Live so it's defo a game I'll consider getting, also thanks for all the info about the games you've played I appreciate the insight.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Looking at this, I'm surprised that I didn't even comment at all about KH, despite being a big KH fan. Well, for that one, I'll say that how you'll feel about the other KH games will depend on what parts you didn't like about 1. If it was the combat and platforming, the later games do fix those areas. If story, well the later games are going to be messy. Not so much Re:Chain and 2, but after 2, they really tried to set up a lot for 3, and 3 gets messy because of it.
It was mainly the combat and level design that was my biggest issues in KH1 so thankful things should get better going forward.
Just take it one game at a time. I prioritize new games and jump back into older ones in lull periods. Don’t be afraid to spend a lot of time on one game either, whatever is fun for you at the time
Amen to that.
In terms of RWBY and the show. I say Volume 9 is the best the series has been with good fights, development, and beautiful areas. Definitely worth the watch as it doesn’t have much of the problems previous Volumes have. It’s a lot more focused with a smaller cast to juggle and definitely more character development focus than just plot. Currently, the show is now own by Viz Media instead of WB, so the show might be having changes for future Volumes.
That's good to know, I think RWBY needed a breather season after seasons 7 and 8 were so intense.
Bruh, Trauma Center is such a gem of a series.
Basically you play a surgeon who with the power of anime gets wrapped up in terrorist plots, bomb defusing, global epidemics, all while using time stoping powers.
It’s an insane and captivating series and one I’d love Altus to bring back in between Persona and SMT.
That does sound pretty nuts but every speaks so highly of Trauma center it's a shame the series has been otherwise retired.
Yeaaaa the backlog it's both a horror and a joy to have one for me specificly when someone how big my own backlog is I always say "my backlog is bigger than my future"
It might be bigger than your future, but it's certainly not brighter than your future :)
I mean given that the original Stay night recently got a remaster that released everywhere...
Very true, though I heard that the made some changes to that version which some people got very annoyed about.
In regards to Persona 3 FES. I think that it is a good idea to play FES at some point since it'll give you a good idea of what Atlus was originally going for. Reload is easily the most newcomer friendly (and honestly, probably the best version), but FES is kind of Atlus just trying to figure out the formula of Persona games going forward and has a few outdated features like forced romances and no party control. Plus Reload kind of fucked a few things up, like shuffle time and more importantly, the lighting. Whichever one you start with though, you should have a good time
Awesome that's very reassuring, thanks for the heads up.
Nintendo DS tips (Side Note I couldn't help but notice that you want to play Pokemon Conquest. If you didn't live overseas I'd be more than happy to sell my copy to you)
Advance Wars Dark Conflict-Never heard of this game but it falls into the massive pile
Another Code-Like with paper mario I can understand wanting a different perspective but the remake is better (Plus you get two in one) Thankfully this game is in the short burst pile
Hotel Dusk Room 215-A short burst game here that I haven't heard of. Should be a good time
Cooking Mama-Another short burst game that I liked the sequel of. Enjoy yourself!
Puyo Pop Fever-I'm sensing a pattern here but we have another short burst game
Rhythm Paradise-Another short burst game here but should be enjoyable
Pokemon Explorer's of Time-This is the exception to needing to playing the remake because I would encourage you to play both Time and Sky. That being said here we have a massive RPG
Star Fox Command-A shame about the wifi being down but at least this game can be played in short bursts
Sonic Rush-Here we have a short burst game and a great time
Sonic Rush Adventure-Another short burst game that isn't as good as the original
Sonic Colors-Another game good for short bursts but avoid the drill power up if you can, trust me
Depends on what you mean by overseas. For what it's worth I am locate in the UK.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 I live in Canada so...
You got A Dreaded Gaming BACKLOG!!!.
Me got A Dreaded UA-cam Nintendo Games BACKLOG!!!.
53:08 Okay I’ve been meaning to follow you on twitch for a while now but now I have incentive. One of us, ONE OF US
Well I very much appreciate the support, Trails of cold steel should be a great time.
Hello, Aria of the Soul in the background.
Well spotted ;)
As someone who did play all the gen 3 Mystery Dungeon and all Pokemon Ranger games I think its fair to say they're definitely worth the time.
Just prepare for drawing a lot of circles in Ranger XD
Someone I know has Bioshock as their fav game and was streaming it recently. I'm not one for horror but that one looked interesting.
Oh good I can FINALLY use my Wii U gamepad for something lol.
Cheer up Thracia 776 one day you’ll complete somehow 😅
good stuff, my good sir
So I got plenty of games on my backlog. However, the one that pains me the most is Monster Hunter 4 ultimate. A game that I have heard many people say is one of the best Monster Hunter games. Yet, I've only gotten a few hours into it and it's not like I haven't played any of the earlier titles. I played 3 ultimate on the Wii u and had a blast. It's one of those games that I'll get to one day.
Oh MH4U is incredible, in my opinion it's the best MH game before MHW came out it really does have everything and is so much fun. I'm not sure if the online is still up and running for the MH4U but if you can find people to play it with you'll have an incredible time.
Okay, since your backlog is longer than a door-stopper visual novel, let me just narrow down all my recommendations for you, separating them by each console they're on, and every single one getting my AngryJoe-Style Badass seal of Approval.
_aaaaaand_ go:
Gamecube: Tales of Symphonia, Star Fox Assault, Viewtiful Joe 2
PS2: Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, DMC 1 and 3, Viewtiful Joe 1 (Only real difference between versions I could tell is that Dante and Trish are playable in the PS2 version), Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, OdinSphere, Persona 3 FES
Wii: Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, Red Steel 2, Dead Space Extraction, Sin and Punishment Star Successor, Punch-Out Wii, Trauma Center Second Opinion (Be advised: This game will give you anxiety... no, I'm not joking.)
3DS: Bravely Default & Bravely Second
PS4: BlazBlue Central Fiction, Klonoa series, Sonic Frontiers, DMC 5, ELDEN RING, Kingdom Hearts Collection, Basically any game made by FromSoft, Dragon Age Inquisition, Tales of Vesperia, Trails of Cold Steel 1 2 and 3(Make sure you grab 4 too!), Death End re;Quest 2
Switch: Astral Chain, Bravely Default II, SMT 5, Xenoblade Chronicles, FF7, CupHead, Shantae Half-Genie Hero, Azure Striker Gunvolt Collection, Dark Deity, F-Zero 99, Vall*Hall*a
Steam: Assassins Creed 2, DarkSiders 1, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Tales of Berseria, TellTales The Walking Dead, HuniePop (Spicy for sure, but the candy crush elements are surprisingly fun), Trails in the Sky (Get yourself 2 and 3 as well), Pizza Tower, Dust An Elysian Tail, Blasphemous, Danganronpa 1 (2 and V3 are great as well), Doki Doki Literature Club, Hollow Knight, Steins Gate.
Thanks for the recommendations of which games to tackle first.
I have on my bucket list Paper Mario the thousand door, Tales of symphonia, Tales of Vesperia, Rune factory 3, Rune factory 5, Pokemon mystery dungeon rescue team, Detective Pikachu, Persona 5 royal, Final fantasy 7 and 8, Advance wars reboot camp. And I'll be pre-ordering Final fantasy 1-6 collection for switch.
I can for certain say that person 5 royal is an incredible game and something I would give the highest recommendation to play through.
*holds Sumia hostage* PLAY EXPLORES OF TIME OR SHE GETS IT
1:16:30 IIRC the Super Championship Turbo edition was given to owners of the Gold edition at some point, and is basically just Gold Edition but more.
Gotta love a nice freebie.
Speaking of Tales of Berseria, what are your thoughts on the other Tales of Games? I only played Tales of Berseria and Tales of Arise.
I've only played Arise and I loved it, did just about everything right and really enjoyed the combat and characters, though the giant monster bosses were awful and the final dungeon dragged so much.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 which Tales of Berseria and Tales of Arise characters are your favorite?
Remember I did state that I've only played Arise, I can't comment on Tales of Berseria or it's cast.
In regards to Arise though I thought Shionne was the overall best character, but Kisara was my personal favourite character.
As someone who’s played and completed umbrella chronicles and its sequel dark side chronicles I can say that they are fine rail shooters. If you can get a friend to play with you cause it’s more fun that way. Also play on normal cause if you switch to easy you won’t unlock all the side chapters for some reason.
18:11 Where I live there use to be a Game Store Company Calles Game before they were shut down because of EB Games.
oh yeah dust an elysian tail, klonoa and sekiro mention lets go, all great games I hope you get the time to play, also I saw wanted the get 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors game, you can actually get both the game and its sequel in a collection on both PSN or Steam if your interested
Oh sweet I never knew there was a steam port, that's wonderful news and thank you so much.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 NP, the collection is called "Zero Escape: The Nonary Games"
Oooof...
Gaming backlogs are what I feared the most.
I would love to play all of the Fire Emblem and Pokémon games and ROM Hacks and Fan Games that I had downloaded.
But between school, inadequate hardware, and burnout, it's pretty damn hard.
Indeed life does find a way to get in-between us and our backlog of video games.
Hi Blazing Knight. I can see your backlog is at least double more than mine. So I'm going to offer you some tips on how to complete a backlog like I've been doing. First off do not feel like you have to complete 50 games in one year. Daryltalksgames tried to do that and he went into burnout halfway through. Second I would limit your simultaneous game usage to three games. One for long rpg games, one for games you can jump in and out of (ex fighting games and platformers) and finally the games you show on Twitch. I'll eventually comment on each of your games sectioned off by console (Can't have those comments too long according to YT). I look forward to hearing your responses to my suggestions (I am only one person with an opinion much like you)
Thanks very much for the suggestion it does sound like a solid strategy to tackling backlogs and I'll take ur advice to heart.
I've played through all of Dmc 1 and regardless of how outdated the graphics are or how janky the jump mechanics can be with the camera getting in the way at times. The game is fun. Although playing 1 first would make the story behind the series confusing so I'd start with Dmc 3 then do dmc 1 or 2 if you have it.
Still the best $60 I’ve spent in terms of game gifting! Always happy to spread the Xenoblade Hype!
Now everyone that reads this comment must play Xenoblade or else Luigi will 360 no-scope you 😈
Damn they should the game is a masterpiece, and thanks again for the gift man you really are the best bro.
Nintendo 3DS tips
Bravely Default-This is a massive one and sadly it gets repetitive
Bravely Second-Also massive but it shouldn't be repetitive
Codename Steam-A game that lost a lot of 'steam' but can be played in short bursts
Dead or Alive Dimensions-A fighting game that can be played in short bursts
Trials and Tribulations-It is the best of the original trilogy and can be done in short bursts
Shin Megami Tensei IV-You'll be in the long haul for this massive RPG, not only for it's length but it's difficulty
Etrian Odyssey 3&4-You'll be in the long haul for these massive games but the third game is on my backlog as well
Harmoknight-I only got this game because I'm a pokemon fan but I do enjoy these short bursts of fun
PulBlox-A different version of this game is on my backlog but thankfully short bursts are the way to go
Luigi's Mansion 2-Yeah it is the worst of the three but it can be completed in short bursts
Rayman-Ooofff yeah the difficulty is terrible but this game can be completed in short bursts
Amazing Mirror-Yeah this isn't the best metroidvania but it can be completed in short bursts (though the final boss is long)
Warioware-Like the microgames, this adventure can be played in short bursts
Mario V Donkey Kong-Got the free game on the 3DS and didn't like it but this game can be done in short bursts
Zelda Minish Cap-This is a massive game that can be completed in short bursts but well worth the push
Four Swords Anniversary-Nice! You actually have this game. That said you can complete it in an afternoon or a few hours of short bursts
Links Awakening DX-This will be a trek but it can be completed in short bursts. The remake is great too but either or works
Oracle of Seasons-If you have the code from Oracle of ages, this game can be completed in short bursts with a nice conclusion
Super Mario Land 2-I've beaten this game and while the final boss is long it can be completed in short bursts
Wario Land 3-Another game I've beaten and it's hard to complete so short bursts are the way to go
Kirby's Dreamland 2-I've heard this game is hard to complete but the final boss is a great challenge so go for those short bursts
I haven’t played Symphonia BUT 2 other Tales of Games you should definitely try to play Abyss (PS2 & 3ds) and Beseria (PS4)
SMT 5 V is a better version of SMT 5 (play canon of creation then vengeance)
35:17 F in the chat
As someone who has Dokapon Kingdom Connect on Switch, just get that. It's the original game but with online play.
Oh yeah it did get a port/remake on the switch, I'll be sure to do that.
The Best FE Game 4 The Nintendo PC, Pokemon Conquest, Should Probably Bee On Da List Maybe>
Star Wars Rogue Squadron on the GameCube is the remaster from the N64. But I can attest my backlog is extensive
Wow, didn't know it was a remaster.
Looking at the older graphics I'm pretty sure it is, plus the Rogue Squadron 3 I played later didn't have the trip cable thing for the AT-ST's. The second game I think might've been after GameCube if it was localized, no idea, I've only seen 1 and 3 which is weird and I love Star Wars. Though Outlaw is looking pretty dull and the instant fail in the stealth missions looks annoying. I prefer stealth to be just an option. Have you played the Star Wars MMO? It's mostly free to play and you only have to pay $15 or whatever a single sub payment is in the UK for full access to all of the expansions. I'm loving it cause it's fully voiced and even our character talks. Choices matter in side quests and only make some small changes in the main story
Some good games you're working on for sure. I've played a few of them, Thousand-Year Door and Assault. The latter is good, but it's hard to top 64. That was lightning in a bottle, and rarely can anyone nail it twice. I do think you'd be better of skipping Command though. Steering is done entirely with the touch screen, and there are quite a few moments where it really hurts the game play, not to mention your hand. I thought mine was going to fall off and run away when I played it.
Just my two cents on the game.
I too have a backlog. It’s not that big, thankfully, but it’s still sad I got at least several games in my collection that just haven’t played. My biggest one being Arkham knight. I’m a huge fan of the Arkham series, I played the hell out of the first three Arkham games and too this day, I continue to play them. I sometimes plan on Playing Arkham knight but that game is too bloated for its own good and I sometimes say to myself “nah” why do I do this to myself?!!!
Indeed the Arkham games got more and more extensive when it comes to side missions and collectibles, it can so overwhelming.
Oooh, backlogs...
I pretty much banned myself from the eShop and Steam stores for these reasons.
1. Games I need to finish first
2. Games I need to revisit after not playing for so long
3. Games I just love to play for comfort
Somehow this hobby became a long chore list and the challenge becomes when and how. I keep saying I'll finish TTYD or I'll play MGS4 one of these days and then I don't.
Sometimes we can't help but go back to the games we know we're going to love. Everyone's guilty of this and it honestly can't be helped.
I highly recommend Umineko and the author's previous work Higurashi.

1:25:12-1:27:08 that is pretty much how I feel with majora’s mask
Majora’s mask: when is my turn
Me: well…..
Majora mask: you have a lot of time on breath of the wild, but not me.
Me: well breath of the wild took my breath away
Yep Breath of the wild will do that to ya.
Kh 1 has its fans but it definitely suffers from first game syndrome.
Amen to that.
It’s really not that I don’t have the time and energy it is that I don’t want to spend every waking hour playing video games. There are better more productive ways to spend your time. Don’t misunderstand me here I like video games but when I get to the end of my life I don’t want to look back and say I played and beat 2,000 video games. I much rather say I made a difference to 10,000 or more people, I spent 800,000 hours with family. The occasional video game is great but there are better things to do.
I didn’t see it in the video, but I wanted to ask if you had Fossil Fighters and the sequel, Fossil Fighters Champions. It’s an incredible game and surprisingly cheap from what I’ve seen. Seriously, I found both at a used game store not too far from me. 15 bucks TOTAL FOR BOTH OF THEM.
No I do not have either the first fossil fighter or it's sequel. Though I know the first game has a strong cult following.
As far as the tales series games. Symphonia is an enduring classic, but has a few things that need to get used to. Zestiria has a top tier soundtrack, but is otherwise probably the weakest of the 5 widely available games in the franchise, Berseria probably has the best protagonist and a top tier story, and Vesperia is my favorite game in the series. Also unlike Arise, they all are real fun co-op games too.
They have co-op? That's new to me but super cool!
Gonna play Persona 3 someday, eh? A lot of people debate if this or that version is the "definitive" version of P3. If you wanted to ask me where to start with P3, I would definitely start with P3 FES as there is no reason to play the original version if you own FES or any other version of P3 and also, FES comes with The Answer. FES does a better job at telling the story of P3 but the gameplay is pretty dated so don't expect it to be like P5 vanilla in terms of gameplay and it can be very hard in difficulty as well. For P3 Portable, I'd still give it a shot if you're really intrested in it if you don't mind the visual novel storytelling and also not including The Answer. The female main character is a new addition exclusive to Portable so maybe try it out once you beaten FES. For Reload, it does come close to being the "definitive" version of P3 but it didn't bring back the female main character that was exclusive to P3P. The Answer is coming but you have to pay the Expansion Pass to get it sadly. Other than that, it's basically a more modern version of the original P3 with a gameplay that is similar to P5R. I hope it gives you an idea of what to expect when jumping into P3 of the versions I mentioned, and hopefully, you'll enjoy Persona 3. Sorry for the long comment.
Thanks for the heads up regarding P3, I appreciate the info.
No problem. Anything to help you get prepared when you do get into Persona 3 one day.
I like Dragon’s Dogma 🥰🥰🥰
You don't say? Well it is an amazing game so go figure.
As is to be expected for the first game, Disgaea 1 is a bit rough. Mandatory grinding is something the series is infamous for, but this is a rare case where it's mandatory for the *main story* and some stage ideas just baffle me.
Still, I think my harsh criticisms are because I may have been spoiled by Disgaea 5 being my first game. In my opinion, 5 is the best game in terms of pacing, item world design and grinding.
People did mention that Disgaea one is rough but at the very least it's good to know the games get better going forward.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 ...except 6, 6 makes a lot of attempts to be more accessible to a wider audience that end up backfiring because it takes half an hour to max out *one* character's level when not fully metagaming (meaning "using the paid DLC characters) on top of other issues.
Buy Vengeance.
Heck I haven’t beat Fe4 yet and I’m in 3 quarter of chapter two and I’m not even half way and other games to play
TMS Sharp FE is more like Persona meets Fire Emblem than Shin Megami Tensei.
Well thank god I'm more familiar with Persona.
Are you going to do another Mock the Emblem video because I think it was over two years since you guys done one of those.
Actually I uploaded the 9th Episode 3 months ago: ua-cam.com/video/-iny6bkw1Wk/v-deo.html
Nioh 2 has a kind of confusing placement in the timeline to the first game. But enjoy creating a big booby and booty ninja/samurai girl 😂. The games are fun, but don't take the stories seriously cause there are some things that don't make sense
The pit of backlog seem too huge and as far as i know is you can skip dark 1 if you want because the story happens around the same time as second one, legend of heroes game fun series character you'll probably love .
Hehe huh kinda remind me to check my backlog
