for me, getting null does require a decent amount of time (1 - 3 hours, maybe less if you're lucky). using biome randomizer or strange controller helps and I actually got null quite a few times from the strange controller. Leave celestial on auto equip or have auto add on heavenly pot 1, overnight can fish you like 1 - 3 celestials (you might not get any), also have exotic on auto equip for hp2 (if your late game, exotic wouldn't be much of a worry, and you can pull a decent number of exotics overnight or during the day, 3-5 exotics possibly). You can expect to have the null quest completed overnight .
