Very cool. I don't think I've seen those locks raked before. Just out of curiosity, if you tension the core of the padlock you showed, do the pins bind?

If I apply medeium tension I feel some pins bind. It feels like those pins are stuck though, not just resisting lifting. If I wooly lots of tension they do not all bind (first pins is still free floating).

Thanks for watching. I personally really like Kwikset locks. The first lock I ever picked was a kwikset standard pin tumbler, and back then they were kind of bargain junk locks. Its cool to see them make a hard to pick lock, that can be rekeyed by the user, and is in local hardware stores still affordable and offered cheaper than some of the Schlages. Did they steal it from Schlage? I dont know, maybe some skeletons in the closet. I recommended them to people looking for something better than average they can still buy locally without breaking the bank.

Just made my shim from a broken Peterson pick.

Sounds good! It took me a lot of little adjustments to find the sweet spot where it could fully slide down the sidebar, but I needed it to do that to open. I could not have it just put pressure on the very front of the sidebar. You can pull the core out of the housing if it helps to see how the slim is sliding in and where it gets caught up.

@ The new versions block this from working from what I’ve heard, the knobs and levers can be bypassed.

@@camronbay1 I thought this was their most recent/current generation, but I could deffinitely see then wanting to block that access. Ill keep an eye out for a new model.

LPL couldn't have done it faster 😮🔥👍😁

Lol, LPL would smoke check me with a different bitting. This video is the result of multiple attempts picking and knowing the bitting and practicing with it. In the "wild" with none of those advantages I'm not confident I would get it open. Might be an all day kinda thing. "believe half of what you see and some or none of what you hear"

Thank you. Those videos I link to make much better instructions and how to. My video is sharing a personal first, but entry/novice proficiency.
