This blues rock revival is great! Reignwolf, Rival Sons, Black Pistol Fire, Royal Blood, Gary Clark Jr., Benjamin Booker, Blackwater Fever, man they're great. Thank you Jack White and the Black Keys for starting the movement!
Whammy pedal is responsible for a large part of that sound. Even when not being used for pitch change, it has this granularizing effect of gating that you can hear clearly with Jordan, particularly when used BEFORE heavy distortion. I have been using that sound for many years. No other pitch change pedal or rack unit does it either. Just the Whammy. The gating is not intentionally part of the pedal’s sound and is almost inaudible when followed by clean gain.
***** Honestly have no clue man, been dying to know myself. He plays a lot of small venues so if I ever get around to seeing him I'd love to try and snap a pic of his pedalboard.
Yeah man definitely let me know if you do. I don't have the chance to see him often since Im in Europe ;). Occasionally you see a snap shot of his pedal board on these videos but I don't know my pedals well enough to recognize them. (Im actually loking to build my first pedal board :P)
Nightpool By the way do you have any guesses what tuning he uses it seems to be tuned down? The pedals make it a little difficult to guess, for me at least :P.
What phenomenal talent reign wolf is. 30 yrs ago he wad have been a rock god. But thank god he has the commitment to do it anyway. God bless you brother
Whammy followed by very high distortion. I’ve been using this sound in my power trio Big Beat for many years. Even when not pitch-shifting, the Whammy slices the following distorted sound up into pieces.
IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO TAB SONGS PLEASE TAB THIS! MY ONE SONG TO PLAY OUT OF EVERYTHING IVE HEARD!!!! (even though I suck at guitar, I'll try my damndest to learn it, I already memorized the album version lyrics)
I guess there's some similarity in regards to singing style, but neither Gary nor Reignwolf are even remotely similar to who you've compared them to when it comes to playstyle/overall sound.
bbm savaril I agree with you, but these days there are few guitarists like Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page, so I made this comparison, but it is relevant. :) (sorry, my english is bad).

+Darian Ehya been looking for a few new bands, only knew gary clark and black keys, thanks for this
Same here i needed more songs but holy POOPSICLE HOW DOES HE NOT HAVE MORE LIKES??

oh my god, thank you for showing me The Blackwater Fever!
love Blackwater fever
I just can't get over that tone. I'm never too picky or fussed over tone, but holy hell that guitar sounds so brilliant.

Just stunning live performance. Dripping with soul, grooving like mad!
I love that super dirty distorted octave pedal effect he uses on solos, it sounds fucking incredible.
Nightpool Do you by any chance know some of the pedals he is using because he sounds seriously awesome.

***** For sure! I live in California near Los Angeles so a lot of big and small artists alike tour through here all the time.

Man, he goes after that guitar like it killed his parents in a dark alley outside the opera house.
I'm so stealing this

Every live performance of this song sounds entirely new and raw... this man is a genius. Rock the fuck on.
Uhhhg just what I needed!! ThANK YOU!! Miss this one❤️☀️🎸
This is just brilliant. This performance. I come back to this video to watch this performance. It's amazing.
There are some wildly original guitar figures in this one, especially in the closing solo. Wow.
He plays that thing like a big old dirty saxophone, so much tone
too much! love this
Jordan Cook e sua banda de um homem só. Som dos bons.
The raw fuckin passion in this performance is incredible :D
This guy would be wicked successful up in Seattle.
Definition of Kick Ass - Reignwolf.
YES!!!
most of his gigs on here are in Seattle lol Get out and see him.
Great r&n
muito bom!
Why has this video only got 38 likes?!?!
Chloe White looks like it’s received a few more...
maza . . . fakka. . .
awesome!!!
To me it sounds like it's just going through a distortion pedal. I'm not entirely sure, but I tried it and it sounded pretty close.

A Must HEAR!.}:‑)

P is for PASSION
what pedal is that..... ? the LOW octavio sound? what pedal is he using here?
Big muff and whammy pitch pedal. But This is what we know of his gear: equipboard.com/pros/jordan-cook
Mike Machado Music custom pedal made by a friend of his.
As a guy who plays bass, guitar, and drums (and sings mediocre at best) this dude is insane.
The dude's been living there for a few years, apparently.
Stevie Ray Vaughn + Jack White = Reignwolf
Well put. Fun fact for those who don't know much about him, he started playing guitar at 6 and was playing in blues clubs in a band by 8
+Brayden Y u can tell hes insanely talented.. Jus comes naturally.
+Brayden Y he had hippie musician parents.. Lol "come play in my band son." Lol
+Daytimerocker You forgot Black Sabbath and Zeppelin and every other blues rock artist in existence in that equation :)
ya i simplified it a bit :)
IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO TAB SONGS PLEASE TAB THIS! MY ONE SONG TO PLAY OUT OF EVERYTHING IVE HEARD!!!! (even though I suck at guitar, I'll try my damndest to learn it, I already memorized the album version lyrics)
i dont think that even the man himself know what exactly he plays. he improvises all the time
holy shit!
Gary Clark Jr = New Jimi Hendrix
Reingwolf = New Jimmy Page

I think reignwolf is more of a hendrix, his guitar skills are on the same level.
jimi hendrix, black keys, h&m
