I do really miss picking corn. I don't miss chopping and getting stuck in the mud. Excellent summary video of your harvest. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving
Boy that tobacco is something.....my memories of So Md are tobacco farms and the tobacco auction building. As a boy I used to go with my Grandfather to So Md to "the sale" he called it. It was just down from the building where they used to auction tobacco. Tobacco fields seemed to be everywhere down there in the 70's. I recently drove through Charles, Calvert and Anne Arundel counties and barely caught a glimpse of a few rows of tobacco. It was a bit sad. Time marches on. Love your channel Mister.
Thanks for the videos, I always enjoy them. Been watching for about 6 months now and have gone back and watched all of them. Honestly a bit surprised to see how similar you do things to us here in the mountains of NC. Watching the tobacco especially brings back memories, both good and bad. Most importantly though is to see videos of a God fearing, King James bible reading, fellow believer. Hope you have a blessed day and look forward to seeing more!
Actually being at my age, I just enjoy watching someone out getting some work done with out a lot of electric guitars grinding away nor rap music. So, thank you for taking us along on your farming chores. It really is quite relaxing to watch and I hope you keep it up. Best to ya from Northern New Mexico.
Great to have you with us GS, my oldest sister lived in Albuquerque, for many years. Visited a couple times, enjoyed the beauty of the Sandia Crest and sunrise on the desert.
Howdy Bill, nice compilation! I was intrigued by the tobacco harvesting process, I have never seen any of that action. I could definitely see that would be physically demanding! Thanks for the tip on Augusta Seed, I’ll give them a look see. Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
Awesome Bill, really appreciate and enjoying you videos, I know videoing is hard and to work too, but I would like to see more in-depth on you tobacco that’s something i not been around and all so you shop works, thanks again God Bless you and your family
Like watching a farmer working his farm with older equipment and making due with what he has. Not putting on a show for the neighbours. I can relate. Thanks
Making hay in august in Wisconsin being at the top of the barn to where you can't stand up packing 65 pound bales on your knees just waiting for the 55 pound bales of straw down at floor level was a real relief, next was being back in school.
I either remember or have run the same equipment, except for the tobacco spear! I didn't run 1 row chopper nor picker, but ran same brands of a bit newer machines. And stacking tobacco up in the top of a shed can't be as hot as topping the haybarn or leveling off silage in a roofed silo! If it wasn't 140°, it wasn't getting done!😮 Great video, Bill. As the good book says "there is a season for everything". Paraphrasing Ecclesiastes.👍
Nice video, Bill. I did notice a little more pickin than just the corn. Is that a new tune in the background you're working on ? Not only pickin corn, but the Banjo, too 🎶
Great video to watch. When I was young teenager that's how we did it also. But without a snoot on the top of the elevator how do you get all the corn in the crib?
I can under stand your tires i have been cleaning up our farm and just cut up a load of junk tractor tires so they could go to the land fill. What a used tractor is worth is mainly do to its tires .
I didn’t know that’s how we sharpen the knives on a vintage corn chopper
Thanks for your efforts to entertain us
Great job Bill, really good harvest I enjoyed the compilation keep up the good work!
The satisfaction of harvesting your own food must be amazing.
Really enjoyed this video. Brought back many memories picking corn on the farm!
Just found your channel. I farmed with the same equipment in the 70’s. Lots of good memories. Thanks

I will try out Augusta seed. Like your videos your equipment looks like mlne
Those tobacco spears you had are the only ones I ever thought were any good. Those newfangled one always seemed to split the stalks out worse.
Augusta seed are a good group of people. I deal with Daniel. I'm here on the Eastern shore.
