Yeah, once a country declares a direct threat to Canada or the kings Commonwealth, you’ll have a surge of volunteered applicants because I’ve been considering joining since the Ukraine war, but there’s never been a direct threat to my country or the kings Commonwealth and if it advances past Ukraine and goes towards England, or most of Europe in Canada gets directly involved, I will enlist and I believe a lot of people will we just don’t have a large, active military force, but we have tons of young men and women that are willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good

No, we are and have not been prepared for many years, and it's not from the lack of will or drive on the part of the troops. But they don't have the kit, gear, weapons, ammunition, or resourses to deal with any conflict lasting more than a week!
My main reason for leaving was because how trudeau treated the truckers. Calling them racists and punishing them without trial, ie freezing their bank accounts for contributing... he's a narcissistic tyrant

The only ones to blame for this situation are the Canadian taxpayers who have failed to care about defence. If they did, there would be votes in it but there aren't and neither Canadian political party has properly supported Canada's National Defence since Louis St. Laurent's time. (The NDP would like to see them disbanded altogether). Canadians get what they deserve. Others who defend us instead can call the shots and dictate our foreign policy if they wish. Colonies get "Dad" to defend them but grown-up countries defend themselves for their own purposes.
The people to blame are the ones carrying the guns who hold the true power. Do you seriously still think we can vote our way out of this mess? That's just there so you can have a feeling of being in control.
But modern people love their modern conveniences too much, and the CAF would never turn their guns on the government that screwed them over so much. That's too painful and too much work, easier to just argue with your fellow man and hope somebody comes to save you.
Nobody is coming to save the CAF, you guys are supposed to be the saviors.

The caf can't even keep a serviceable fleet of troop carrying vehicles. Members are expected to do the job of 3-6 people due to staff shortages, outdated equipment that is needed. Money spent on ridiculous things not needed "intrigrated soldier system tac vest". Toxic leadership ensures the caf is barley ready to do crowd control at a base hockey game.
The cost of living near any reg force base is ridiculous and a lot of members are living hand to mouth working a second job.
The caf is a joke and many of the experienced members are VR'ing in record numbers. But they can wear clown wigs and dye their beards pink. 🙄

I we prepared NO, should someone declare war on us? Yes absolutely. We weren't prepared prior to WW1 or 2 either but when the war order is giving industry priorities change overnight
The next war will be a "come as you are" war, not a long term mobilization war of training up hoards of volunteers and building new defence industries from scratch. There is always a tendency to visualize war the way the last one was.

Basically no our nations military capacity is terribly unprepared. From what I've heard from Canadian soldiers we ARE SEVERLY UNDERARMED and the few of what we have is terribly outdated. Our newest fighterjets are 40 YEARS OLD!!! The USA's oldest in service fighter jets are wayyy newer than our newest

The problem with living like a coward is eventually we will have a war on our hands. For example you hear your neighbors house being broken into and you go ah, not my house... and you fall back asleep. 1 year later. Someone is breaking into your house tying you to a bed and your screaming for help but all of your neighbors go.. not my problem.

We may not have many Canadian forces ready and prepared but if there’s a direct threat, the people will come together and willingly join because I wanted to join the military, but I’ve never felt I needed to defend my country, but if any country is threatening us or the commonwealth we will get involved if the Ukrainian war ends up going to Europe, Canadians will enlist, and if India delete declares war on Canada, Canadians will go to war because once enlistment centres start popping up everywhere, you’ll have a large number of willing applicants because I am one of those people that will stand up to defend my country or the kings commonwealth

Well, what else does Canada need? I have no issue with us taking Russian Military forces as our own. Same goes for Afghanistan Marine trained troops whom the US left behind. I would love to take all those soldiers who deserve a better life. Just an idea for Trudeau as the US turned away those Afghanistan Marines. I would have welcomed them as my own. The Republicans and whatever the US did there - I don't agree with. Can we take them? Can we take Russian MoD troops and offer asylum and transport through Alaska?
