    Nice video Steve and well presented. Like I said in a previous response, I recently discovered this stuff and have been polishing it ever since. Big horsepower from simple moves. Maybe not easy to understand for most, but fun once you get it. Wish I had the all year round facility you get to play around at as we north of the border are getting ready to close up for winter. Keep them coming!

      Hey, if I had a cost effective place to stay and play I’d do it in a second. Heck I’d even work a bit by teaching or something to make it work. Three kids in university has put a serious dent in my armour. Lol

    Great video, Steve! The one thing I don't have to worry about is squaring the face, at least not actively. If there's a slice or push then it's due to me not shifting my weight properly or being too tense in my wrists and forearms. Nice slo mo shots from different angles.

    Hey Steve, any chance you have a video about ball position. Different theory’s on driver vs long irons vs short irons. Just curious as to what your “position” is on the topic ; ) Thanks for the helpful content.

    Ur preshot waggle and pre set is gorgeous man. I gotta keep movn to. Even when I raise my right elbow it just doesnt feel as powerful keepn my elbow to my hip and using my body to push my arms around. I cant find that same smash feeling when I raise my elbow. I found it like twice and thought id never forget it but I just cant ever seem to feel the same power raising my dang elbow. I thinknit might be my grip where i broke my wrist and I can't bend it right at the top. Idk but its aggervating. The 2 times I felt it and knew I was going to smash it I got atleast 275 from normal 255.

    Great detail again Steve, probably a lot for some people to take in, but I love it. On an unrelated issue. Why do I find it so hard to start my drives down the middle. I always start them down the left( I’m left handed). Contact is brilliant but always left or blocked more left. This is where I get handsy and get lots of hooks. However when I aim down the middle it’s a guaranteed hook even when I open up my shoulders . Thanks

      Thanks Seamus! Yes blocking is a very common problem. I would start by examining for early hip extension (standing up) and a poor handle path high and to the left after impact. Check out this video I did on this subject: ua-cam.com/video/x12Odb8IncA/v-deo.html just last week. Your clubface comes in open and needs to be flipped over with the 'emergency parachute' torque.

    Hi Steve am I rightly saying mike Austin’s release he used the Flap torque? As I have start using this release and I was told by a pro I was flipping and I should hold on to my wrist angle to keep me to have more shaft lean . He said never to let the shaft get behind my hands this is the opposite to what mike says as he lets the shaft pass the hands. Which is the right way Steve.? Thanks great job 👍

    Steve, great stuff, as always; is there a handle path video we can follow to groove in the handle travel from top to bottom ? Seems that handle path is the number one factor to optimize the swing. Thank you kindly.

      It is super important and makes hitting it straight so much easier. I do have a video about it on my channel. I did it about 3 months ago.

    How do u train that timing about the handle? When do u pull or let the handle slow down?

    Hi Steve - would a good way to use passive torque be to keep the club face square to the arc throughout the back swing and post-impact when the shaft reaches parallel to the ground in the follow-through?

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70 5 років тому

      Yes keeping the club square to the arc going back means you'll need a bit less coming through.

    really good stuff Steve ! when I'm playing my best, I don't feel the need to square it....playing not so good, I have to rescue at the bottom-still can play ok, but doesn't feel right.

    can you define the handle path in more detail? How can you tell if the butt end of the club is exiting where is should?

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70 5 років тому +2

      Hi Lawrence! Make sure the hands pass no more than one spread out hand width from each thigh through the impact zone.

    I'm having twist the handle like mad to square the face but I feel my left wrist is cupping through impact which is also leaving my face open how would I go about fixing this

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70 5 років тому +1

      Hard to tell without seeing at least a video. Most common cause for this feel would be standing up through impact and send the handle high and out to right field. A good place to start at least.

    Way too nebulous. Hitting through the ball and creating straight lines in the body several feet past the ball are wrong. Baseball has it right. Widen the elbows in the backswing and bring them together at contact so the lead hand feels like it moves slightly back and the trail hand forward like scissors. Same thing with the knees. Create conflicts so there is only one way for the club and hips to go. Focus the power, do not steer or time it. A straight lead arm in the backswing makes squaring the club twice as hard as it needs to be. I know this sounds complex but it is literally a snap.

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70 4 роки тому

      I agree with your images. What exactly is too nebulous?

    • @8uvrays
      @8uvrays 4 роки тому +1

      I think wars could start over “active” versus “passive”. I would prefer direct vs. indirect or intuitive vs non-intuitive. I agree with need for all these forces but the connection with squaring the clubhead is not apparent to me. By the way, my partner and I won a big tournament. A big part of it was that I switched back to the pivot you teach. Especially important was the idea that you want to get your hips away from the ball on both the backswing and forward swing. I consider the key to a good golf swing is to realize if something is in the way of the swing move it out of the way before it becomes a problem. I thought of the back hip turn as the matador move, but I eliminated it because I read it was wrong. And I simply ended the swing before the lead hip became a problem so I pushed most shots.
