for which reflected the many episodes of despair in her life. Angelina's gift is that she is able to
emulate that emotion in her singing and that is very difficult to do.
As I said in a reply We have had 6 performances of 'If I Were a Boy' and two official videos. Angelina has never released that much material in such short period of time. 'Bad Valentine is expected to be released shortly and if they do the same type of promotion plus the fact that she is working on her long awaited Album being released around september I am finally seeing a big push over the next year designed to hit the Music Industry hard with Angelina's unique style. There is no one like her and her voice while being beautiful it is also so unique you know instantly Angelina is singing in any performance she does. I hope and believe that is the plan. If they can maintain that kind of push through the year to the Grammys I really believe we are seeing the kind of promotion we have all been waiting for. All toward our most desired wish for Angelina to get the recognition she deserves. She is destined to take her place among the Greatest of All Time. And then she can fulfill her wish to sing for the whole world. Hopefully by about this time next year she will be know by all, a household name and new fans will be exploding exponentially and launching her into the stratosphere. 😊♥👣
The lyrics reflect a mature theme in relationships--boundaries and expectations! I am glad to see Angleina (with Toby) tackle stories of the road of life as it is and was, not what you want to see or hear. Good commentary, Papa D. And shout out to James...

Thanks for your reaction Big Papa D. I agree with your interpretation of the lyrics. Angelina is in love with her music and is very close to her family. She doesn't have the time for a relationship, right now. Good chance, this will be the song which will reach the ears of millions of people who don't know of Angelina yet.
Any thoughts on timing for the studio version and any videos that accompany this one Andy? Seemed like with If I Were a boy everything was rapid fire.

Nice reaction! Not sure if you heard it, but in the beginning of the song, you hear a young lady cheer and shout, "Let's Go!" That was Angelina's little sister Juliette. Man, this song is killer and Angelina's vocals on this is just crazy! First time I heard this it gave me chills and made me very excited. She ate this song up! FIRE!!! Before anyone tries to make a deal about this, yes, Angelina was wearing shoes at this particular venue. It's more than likely that she had to wear them due to the venue's own rules and/or safety concerns. This was a small stage with a lot of wires and things on the ground. After this performance, she and Toby went to The Other Songs Event at the London Palladium, and performed If I Were A Boy and she was bare feet on stage. When she had her one night only Las Vegas show at the Westgate Resort a few months ago, she stated to the audience that performing barefoot is a part of her identity now and that would not change. Basically, if she can, she will.

I was assuming the song is sung in first person from the perspective of the person who hurt Angelina or someone close to her.
That fits with the “Now I’m the Fool” story

In "Now I'm the fool" Angelina makes it clear that she is hurt by the actions of the other person when she declares
